    And there are great videos out there on wefted wigs, so again thank you on addressing hand tied caps! Especially without cutting out material or fibers! Very nice!

I know many wig wearers like to wear them. It's a question of personal preference. I just don't think it's necessary for me. Feel free to ask questions any time and good luck!💖

    my measurements ear to ear are 11 inches so the wig is covering my ears. How should I make the cap smaller? It is a hand tied cap. Love your video

    • @micheleswigreviews
      @micheleswigreviews  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi Mylene! I have never altered a wig cap to change the ear to ear measurement. You could try the double ended dart method shown in my video and if you don't like the results, just remove the stitches again. Be sure to avoid sewing the monofilament or the lace front. Another option would be to trim the ear tabs. Here is a link to a video I like about removing ear tabs - czcams.com/video/ZVFDceY6JKc/video.html. You could start by only trimming a small portion of the ear tabs to see if that works for you. Keep in mind that you will need to either remove the metal stays or sew up the new edges of the ear tabs carefully so that the metal stays don't protrude and poke you. Of course all of this will prevent you from returning your wig and is at your own risk. Hope this helps!💖

    Love your videos. Your experience shows. My measurements are smaller than u except for my circum. Im 22 inch. Between my wig grip and my bio hair i fell caps are smaller - lower hair line. - my hair loss is a little less. Can i show how to expand hand tied - rw is supposed to be small. Can u show how to do it? Removing bands makes cap too big.

    Thank you for this video! I am going to try this on a RW Upstage that I bought in a large cap ( I knew the regular would be too tight on me). What I was curious to know - do you you have less pouff on the top of your head?

    • @micheleswigreviews
      @micheleswigreviews  Před rokem

      You are very welcome, I'm so glad you found my video helpful!😊 I don't normally have an air pocket/pouf on top of my head and don't believe I did with this style. I did have a slight air pocket with a wefted cap recently and fixed it by sewing wefts together near the crown. It worked well. I think this method would work well if you have a pouf on a hand tied cap. Good luck!💖

      @shookiedo2178 Před rokem

      @@micheleswigreviews OK, so I did it!!!! My Upstage fits perfectly now. I had to do it twice, because the first time, I took too much in. As you said, it doesn't take long. The longest part was in the careful removal because the eyes aren't what they used to be and I didn't want to puncture the cap. Both times, I actually did my dart, flipped it up to sew it down, all with one thread. I feel more confident now that my back isn't bunched!

    Hi, can we add roots to a hand tied cap? I have henry margu in 14h coming and I'm afraid it's going to need roots.

    • @micheleswigreviews
      @micheleswigreviews  Před rokem +1

      Hi Alicia, yes you can. You just inspired me - I will try to post a video this Friday about how to add roots to a hand tied cap. If you do use a root spray, I would recommend using one formulated for synthetic fibers (like Jon Renau's Blend & Build Root Spray - this is what I will test). Please note that I have heard that some root sprays can permanently turn wig fibers gray or green, so I recommend testing it in an inconspicuous area first. As an alternative, I like to use the Color WOW root powder (from Amazon) to blend my bio hair with my wigs (I apply some to both). Hope this helps!💖

    Michelle how long does your wigs last Synthetic hair,as it does not matter if it heat or None heat as starting to get scared now!! And butting me off ?

    • @micheleswigreviews
      @micheleswigreviews  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi Marion! In general, if you are wearing them every day, heat friendly synthetic wigs can last around 2-4 months with proper care (I have been wearing a Belle Tress HF synthetic wig for 3½ months now). Synthetic wigs (not heat friendly) can last around 3-6 months with proper care. My synthetic wigs normally last me around 3-4 months. The longevity also depends on your daily activities (how much time you spend outside, how often you wash your wig...) and the length of the fibers. Longer styles experience more friction, which shortens the life of the fibers. Hope this helps!💖
