    Because of all the changes to the new 25 4Runner, I just went out and bought a new 24 4Runner, TRD OFF Road. I suggest to anyone who loves 4Runners, better go buy a 24 before they are all gone. Reliable, and you cannot found a better vehicle that will go the distance. Only time will tell about the dependability on the 25 model. Thanks for the update on the new 4Runner.

    One of the most important features in my 5th gen is the fact that I can sleep in the back, and with company. If the 6th gen can't do the same thing, that's a deal-breaker by itself, let alone the outrageous new price. Oh, and let's not forget that those gas mileage figures are pretty disappointing too. I'm sticking with the tried and true 5th gen.

    I just bought my first 5gen 4Runner after owning two Tacoma’s and brother there’s no way I’m giving up this truck! The fifth generation is a tank hands down and with 14 years of production on this particular generation Toyota has certainly ironed out all its issues with the car. Now they want to completely overhaul the vehicle,, from body design to a completely new engine and for more $$?? NOPE,, I love my 2024 and will own it forever 😉😎🤘

    Well.well it is unfortunate that we live in a build it they will buy it society. Consumer voices have been muted by the government and the auto industry as they decide what we want. This new engine is definitely an engine I would not want. 4cyl and trucks have a long history and none of it is good. I’m glad I brought 4Runner in 2023 because I new change was coming and not for the better. Though visually the new 4Runner looks a little better overall I think it would become a 4Bummer. After the warranty expires and people see they have no power and how expensive turbo chargers are they’ll say “what a bummer”.

    What keeps me from upgrading from 5th Gen are 1. Double Hulk Hogan mustache grill 2. Interior is exact copy of Tacoma 3. Small roundish tail lights 4. Back end looks too much like 5th Gen. 5. plasticky looking interior 6. Large hump when back seats are folded 7. Price

    I haven't seen a video on the differentials and transfer case that explains the fluids. Most say you can use synthetic 75w85 in all 3 both differentials and transfer case. the main part of the question is when it say with friction modifiers or for lsd. I’m gonna stick with my 5th gen. I had a STi for 12 years and replaced the turbo at 75k. I prefer simple things. Less to go wrong.
    And yeah sleeping in the back is a big thing for many. I met another 4Runner owner while fishing at Montauk and he removes the bottom back seat for more headroom.
    Also I don’t see much space under the hood for an air compressor or extra battery.

    • @VikingsGarage
      @VikingsGarage  Před měsícem +1

      Note, the 4Runner has good rust protection, I undercoated mine (2012 Gen 5 Trail) after it was 4 years old figuring that might be a good thing to do and what was interesting was there was not much rust to remove and no rust on the floorboards. I still undercoated it all.

    I’m 6’3” with tall torso. The current 5th gen with sunroof is a no go for me unless seat is down far. I prefer all vehicles without. Also, love and had a 5th gen. Sold it at peak. Thinking of another or possibly waiting a few years into model run. I will say after driving the new Tacoma, the drivability of the new motor is much better at my altitude. I’m at 7k. The 5th gen was a dog and hunted gears quite a bit where I live and up in the mountains. There are pros and cons to both. 5th gen will definitely be more reliable. But, I had a lot of spirited fun driving the Tacoma OR. Price of TRDOR will be high. But, they are already discounting Tacomas so who knows.

    Not sure about the gas mileage on the new 4Runner we will see. My 2013 got 22-24 with original tires on long highway trips 60-75 mph. Now with the Cooper AT3s 18 mph seems about average for highway, its better if I can keep under 80. The outside of the 6th looks great not much changed, inside yeah not sure about a lot of stuff that tumble seat, and I noticed the lack of leg room on those preview videos also.
