    237 MPH at one point. That is simply insane.

    The car control he showed when he got that flat tire and saved it earlier in this race was incredible. The fact he was still running 6th in this race even after that flat tire was quite a drive.

    Yeah and that 5-6 G's is momentary, 1-2 seconds max in braking and on those corners like the blind one in Interlagos, the drivers are through there in under 2 seconds, only hitting peak G's for a moment at the apex. Longest sustained G's in F1 are around 3-4 at Barcelona for 3-5 seconds. IndyCar/CART drivers usually dealt with 3-5 G's (Lateral) for around 5 or more seconds. And for the record I'm a fan of F1 before US Openwheel. F1 and IndyCar=Apples and Oranges; similar, but very different.

    I remember recording that, playing back my recording, then taking a pic of the screen with a video printer, right at the part where it said 237 mph. (at around the 52 second mark here)

    Didn't Shoemacher himself say that he didn't have the courage to race the Indy 500

    I remember in 1997 they were going to race at the Texas Motor Speedway. It's a 2 mile banked oval for Nascar. The Indy drivers were passing out during practice, and qualifying. The banking made for 250 mph, but the G forces are what knocked them out. A couple of seconds is enough. The drivers refused to race on it. Don't blame them.

    Scary fast

    I believe it helps the airflow around the head rest slightly better in a straight line, as well as produce some (only a little) downforce to keep it on the driver's head (sometimes the drivers can feel the helmet trying to lift off their head, which of course can be a bad distraction)

    Com toda certeza o "Flash" Gordon teria atingido 250 MPH no final do retão se estivesse usando uma mistura rica.
    Mas,mesmo assim,ele voou baixo antes de abandonar esta prova!

    I dont know? Did he? He rides motorbikes now, as a hobby in a Semi-prof series.
    He has questioned the safety of the 24-Lemans.
    I have not heard him talk about oval racing, other than he did not understand why Montoya and Villenueve would go to Nascar.
    I dont know if he has plans of high-level racing in his future...

    This is CART(modern Champ Car),not IRL,my friend!

    Schmacher would have shit himself trying to race ovals like this.

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 14 lety

    Where he exceeded was controlling a formula car with extreme midcorner speed, etc. and Oval racing is soooo different!
    The difference is almost so huge he might as well start playing Basket ball, Curling, or start a wrestling career!
    Cheers!

    But youre right about something:
    Schumacher is not a daredevil!
    Safety always concerns him as he was right behind Senna when he crashed and died!
    No doubt it has hounted him!

    And he also once stated that LeMans should upgrade the safety if he should do it!
    But still as far as ovals are concerned, I believe him, also because I cannot se how he could use the particular skills he has to exceed there more than any other driver!

    Jezuz do u realize he did 237mph....which is 380kph!!

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 14 lety

    First: I was not the one giving you thumbs down!
    And you can relax, Im not a Schumacher fan so im not insulted in anyway, and so any other attempt wont work!
    But that said: I honestly believe the main reason Schumacher wont race ovals, really is because he thinks it would be to boring for him!
    I think what really thrills him about racing is ultra precision stuff, and something requires extremely sophisticated driving technique, rather than pure high straight speed and balls!

  • @GordoManz
    @GordoManz Před 11 lety

    But his car can reach over 390 Km/h in the Qualifying Sessions,my friend!
    Actually,if he'd done this during the Race,the engine wouldn't last for 20 or 30 laps.

    I wish Jeff Gordon and Robby Gordon were related. But you know what? They're actually not.

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 16 lety

    Yes...he would fall asleep, crash and die!
    When you are used to pull 5-6 g's under braking and cornering, i think this would be really boring.
    As far as I know IRL does not exceed 4.g's...there are no blind corners, no heavy braking, no acceleration out of hairpins where you have to control 800 bhp by you right foot not to let the wheels spin.
    Schumacher would need something more difficult in order to stand out.
    He cant use his skills just turning left all the time.

  • @Brixman
    @Brixman Před 5 lety +1

    237 f...ing MPH
    WTF?

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 16 lety

    Also: remember that while the G's in formula 1 are often short, there are almost no time to relax untill the next one comes...that be braking or a corner!

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 16 lety +1

    It takes BALLS to race in IRL!!!
    But the technical skills required in F1 and Champ car are much higher!

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 16 lety

    Longest sustained High G-load are Istanbul park with 7 sec over 4-g.
    Still I think im totally right...Schumahcer would be bored racing IRL.
    If there were more road circuits it would be another story!

  • @Michaelingolfhansen
    @Michaelingolfhansen Před 16 lety

    Oval racing...tshhh!
    These people who dare to call themselves racing drivers, would be go into chock after being passenger in just one lap in just a GP2 car...and would probably have to hospitalized af 2-3 laps in a Formula 1.
