The so-called "video details" were there at the outset.
Too many ignorant minds were too overwhelmed by Garret's righteous response with the helmet.
The QB was cowardly and WRONGLY pursuing to attack a RESTRAINED man.
Said RESTRAINED man would be foolish to suppress the natural urge of self-defense, and not beat back the attacker ... even with a helmet.
We all saw the punches and kicks one of the cowardly attacking Pirates landed on the RESTRAINED Garret?

Max has a good sensible head on him. At first when I saw the video I initially thought Rudolph should be suspended because he initiated the fight, and further went after Garrett without a helmet while Garrett has two Olinemen pushing him back. The gut check here is “does the success of the violation have any affect to the bearing of the situation?”
So since Rudolph got hit the league is more “he got his punishment” where as if Rudolph didn’t get hit he’d most likely get a suspension too.
The league knows it’s all bad PR so it’s a perfect Quid pro quo situation.

Entitlement: the belief that one is inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.
One guy started it, one guy chased it and continued to fan the flames (hiding behind a lineman).
Then when he got what he wanted he didn’t respond to being struck in rage, anger, fighting back. He immediately turns around expecting a penalty coming his way. Expecting authority to save him from further repercussions. So, see above definition.

Will, like many right wing Americans who do this, ignores context and history and pretends as if one action that happens at a single moment has no lead up or context that contributed to that action taking place. of course it matters what happened before Garrett swung the helmet, because if Rudolph never charged at him he either wouldn't have swung it or definitely wouldn't have hit him. but apparently to Will Cain that doesn't matter. that's ignorant. then he uses "so it's my fault I walked into the line of fire from your gun" or something like that. a gun is a weapon used to hit something at a distance. a helmet and other handheld objects that need to be in close range doesn't make sense being compared. of course you can throw something, much less likelihood of it hitting your target than a gun designed to hit something from 15 feet

He also didn't kick Garrett in the groin, if you zoom in you can see it's on his thigh which happens AFTER Garrett starts pulling at the facemask. It is NONSENSE to, as Cain said, go back in time and suspend Mason for nonsuspendable behavior simply because Garrett decided to go too far with everything. Garrett deserves 100% of the blame. He started it with the excessive tackle, and he alone crossed the line.

One thing not being discussed is the actual financial differences in the punishment and the financial situation this puts Miles in. Rudolph gets a $50k, Miles on the other hand, forfeits his salary for six games (about 1.14 million dollars) and still has a fine of $45,623. If I'm not mistaken, Players get their pay once a week, and it easily exceeds what a lot of people make in a whole year, but only during the season. They don't get paid during the off-season. So Miles will not add to his coffers until, what? June or July? I promise you. Miles was not expecting to take a loss like that. He has bills that need to be paid. I hope his coffers are stacked enough to get him through.
