Nice video and narration. Personally, I love the Shift 300 but its always interesting to hear what's new out there. Would also like to try the Furi 98 (your review was excellent) but impossible to get Furi in Europe.

i am using ezone 100, want more control shall I go for ezone 98 or percept 100? thanks
I think there's something worth saying about the differences in beam thickness and stiffness rating of these two rackets. I just tried the 100 and it is surprisingly stable with the right amount of stiffness making it very easy to have control over direction of your shots. I am curious about the 97 but its thinner and six points softer, which I suspect negatively impacts the stability even with an extra 10g.
It is just as you thought. The 97 is less stable and more unforgiving because it lacks the stiffness and beam width of the 100. I would like to add that despite the cons of the 97, it does redirect pace very well because of the flex. It absorbs the pace and will work with you if you are swinging out on the ball.
@@racquetguru4183 Thank you for sharing. If the sensation is significantly different, I might pull the trigger on the 100 even though I am generally a fan of smaller head sizes for its maneuverability. I am starting to realize that I like rackets that feel stiff and stable and I'm not sure if the 97 will give me that.
@@QawiemJamil The 100 is not a bad choice, If I were looking to switch racquets, I'd consider that one.
Switched to the current VCore Pro 100 last year due to some arm pain from the VCore 100 V6.
What would you say are the most significant differences between the Percept 100 and the current VCore Pro 100?
I share your feelings about the 97s--they feel great, but you need to be absolutely on your game to play with them.
I will preface this by saying that this is just what I've noticed, your experience may vary: The most significant difference(s) would be the flex point and the stiffer hoop. The flex point being moved to the throat definitely made it softer on my arm after long term use. The VCore Pro 100 does hurt my arm a little after a while because I feel that I have to work harder when the ball is hit off center with the hoop being the central flex point. With the Percept 100, I felt like off-center shots were forgiving enough to just let you know it was off-center, but not punish you by forcing you to work harder.

The stiffer hoop in the new Percept 100 does intrigue me, as the VCore Pro 100 does feel a bit flexy when hitting against heavier balls.

Sadly, I have not hit with the Speed MP, I have only hit with the Pro. I'll be ordering some demos soon and doing some comparisons!
I have hit with Percept 100 (285). I have no clue why such light racket can be very stable & powerful. In terms of feel, It's like Vcore pro 100 with added Ezone flair
It is definitely very stable, almost like an Ezone 100 in terms of stability. Great observation! It's crazy how stable lighter racquets are becoming and how easy some of the higher caliber racquets are becoming to use!
How do you compare the percept 100 vs clash 100 ? And which is more head light? Thanks?
I haven't hit with the new Clash 100, but the percept 100 is a little more head heavy and it's still a bit stiffer with less spin, it's also more solid on volleys. In my opinion, the clash a too flexible and noodle-like when you're dealing with heavy hitters
How would each of these compare to the Pure Strike 16x19 98? That is what I am hitting now but am looking to make a switch.
I haven't hit with the most recent Pure Strike 98, so I couldn't give you an hinest comparison. I will be more than happy to test it out and make a review on it!

how's the Percept 97 and 100 compare to the VCORE 98 and 100?
The Percept 97 is a bit more difficult to use than the 98, but it does feel a bit more connected to the ball than the 98 since the Servo Filter is slightly less dampened than the VDM in the handle of the 98. The VCore 98 does have a lot more power compared to the Percept 97, but I feel that the Percept 97 is more consistent feeling than the 98. Since the VCore 98 has the wider isometric head at the top (like a squared off teardrop) the sweet spot moves up and creates hot spots in the string bed. Now the Percept 100 is more controlled than the VCore 100, but doesn't produce as much spin or power as the VCore 100. I will say that the Serve Filter actually does a good job of dampening vibrations of off-center shots, so the Percept 100 just feels more solid and consistent as a whole.
How compare Percept100 to the Vcore98 (2023) ? Forgiviness, power/control ? Maneuverability ?
In my opinion, the VCore 98 Gen 7 offers more free power, but has less dwell time than the Percept 100. I feel that the Percept 100 is more reliable than the VCore 98 because the string pattern is tighter on the Percept 100 and the isometric shape of the Percept is closer to the standard shape. The VCore 98 has a squared off tear drop shape that moves the sweet spot up in the hoop and creates hot spots in the string bed. As far as control, I prefer the Percept 100 because the ball sits in the steing bed longer and it is a softer racquet. Forgiveness is better on the Percept 100 because it has a bigger head and the hoop is stiffer with a flex point that was moved to the throat as opposed to the VCore 98 that has a flex point in the hoop. Finally, maneuverability of the VCore 98 takes the edge over the Percept 100. I feel that the 98 has a lighter swing weight than the percept 100 and because of that, it is easier to move around, especially at net.
is there any chance you could compare the 97 310g to the 2023 vcore 95?
or honestly even the 100 vs the 95 would be great too
I can absolutely do that comparison in another video! I haven't tested the VCore 95, but I'm excited to try it out.
How does the spin of the Percept compare with other 100s?
The spin of the percept 100 is around the same from last year's VCore Pro 100. It has the least spin of Yonex's lines, so, it would be EZone, VCore, then the Percept 100 in terms of spin rating from most to least spin. Other 100s such as the Pure Aero, Head Speed, and similar racquets are going to be much more spin friendly than the Percept. Now, when talking about control racquets like the Gravity Pro and the Speed Pro, this racquet does produce mkre spin than those 2 frames.
How does the 97 compare to the 97 vcore pro??
In all honesty, there isn't that much of a difference. The Percept 97 feels a bit more solid with the increased stiffness in the hoop and is slightly more connected to the ball thanks to the Servo Filter. The specs are the exact same, however, you do get more stability and plow-through with the Percept 97.
How does power compare with the previous vcore pro 100 with the current percept 100,, do you feel that the percept 100 gives a bit more power than the vcore pro 100 due to it being a bit stiffer?
I do think that there is a bit more power coming from the Percept due to a stiffer hoop, however, I don't think that the difference is massive. The Percept is a softer frame than the VCore Pro, but it's stiff in the right areas that gives it a bit more of an edge on power

Currently in a phase to find new rackets to substitute my clash pro (changed to it due to injury), i wonder if you can suggest rackets that are a bit more control oriented without sacrificing too much power and get good feel on the ball(preffered 100inch rackets) been wanting to try ezone 100 but im too afraid it will cost my elbow in the long term,,, wanting to try vcore pro 100/percept 100 but im afraid it can be a bit too underpowered (i tried the previous version 2019),, i play with spin occasionally and i like to play the ball deep and attack the volley,,, i can say my serve and forehand are my key shots during matchplay,,, i like 300g rackets as i can customize the weight accordingly,, thank you
@@zafranraziq8898 I would recommend the Gravity MP as something you may want to try or perhaps even a blade 18×20 if you want some extra swingweight from the blade 16×19. The Percept line does start to hurt a little if you're shanking a lot or catching the ball late and the Ezone id a stiff racquet, but if strung lower, it's not too bad. As far as control and arm comfort I would suggest the Babolat Pure Aero as the newest version of the racquet has a decent swingweight, good control and a tighter string bed to keep the ball from going crazy. Babolat has dialed back the power and stiffness a bit from their previous versions. The Gravity MP, it's a lighter frame with enough plow-through to keep you competitive and is a soft frame, the Blade 18×20 v8, it is a mid-range RA with a swing weight averaging around 324-ish, more controlled, and has decent power, but may be a little underpowered if you're not swinging very fast

Sounds good to me! I'll see when I can get my hands on the 100D! Yonex gave me a choice of 2 racquets, so I picked the ones that are in a more recreational spec.
How would you compare the yonex 300 gram 100 vs the arma pro 101?
@@davidashman4839 The Arma Pro 101 has a lot more power, but it has better feel. The Percept 100 is muted because of the Servofilter. The Arma Pro doesn't have as much control and is a bit stiffer of a racquet. The Arma Pro is more stable as well and has a larger sweet spot due to the teardrop shape od the head. The Isometric head shape does increase the sweet spot size, but the Percept 100 still has a smaller sweet spot to keep the ball controlled. The Percept 100 has a tighter 16×19 pattern for added control, while the more open 16×19 string pattern of the Arma Pro helps with more spin.

I’m looking for a good blend of spin, power, control and comfort.
In my case I did not like the Vcores or Ezones. Hard to adjust to the isometric shape also.
How does the 100 fare against Speed Pro? And how about 97 vs a more "player tweener racket" such as PA98?
I prefer the 100 over the Speed Pro. The Speed Pro has a lower launch angle and is a bit heavier to swing around. The Pro is closer to the 97. The static weight is heavier, and the 18×20 string pattern in the pro lowers the launch angle and feels a tad stiffer. The auxetic tech in the Speed Pro makes it flex a little more inconsistently in the string bed, in my opinion. There is more power from the Speed Pro as it has a higher swing weight and static weight. As far as control, I think the Percept 100 is better for control. The 97 is definitely less user friendly than a lot of tweener racquets. It's a heavy racquet that requires a good footwork and developed strokes to really use efficiently. The PA98 has a lighter swing and static weight and offers a bit more power because it's a bit stiffer.

In a sense, yes. Minor noticeable changes were made, but it was a very nice improvement over the previous VCore Pro line.
@@racquetguru4183 That's just from the marketing brochure. Every update every manufacturer releases they say is an improvement over the previous generation. They have to say that to get sales. In reality, its not any better, just different and with added marketing gimmicks eg. mesh in the handle, SERVO FILTER!! and other garbage...
