I know I'm 4 yrs late on this as I only just found it via another Dust film, but had to say that's not quite true. I haven't watched much if any of Dusts' shorts since about 2020, but in 2019 they made a short film with Timothy Spall and Jessica Ellerby called "This Time Away" that is absolutely lovely from start to end. Whether you're like me and have gone through the loss of both parents, or if you were ever a "daddy's girl" and that bond got lost over time, or if you just need a pick-me-up after a bad day, you won't go wrong watching this.
Granted there are no jukeboxes or aliens tap dancing, no brightly coloured Crayola crayons or neon pink bras ... but I'm sure you'll enjoy it nonetheless. And don't just take my word for it - with 9 nominations and 4 wins across 2 countries I'm clearly not the only one who thinks it's worth every moment of the 11+ minutes of time spent watching it (it's 13 min with about 1 1/2 min of credits).

Wonderful video. Absolutely brilliant to work tap dancing into a Sci-Fi short. The song the aliens were dancing to was "After You've Gone." It was originally recorded in the 1920's in the slow version as played in the video. A faster version was recorded by Jazz groups like the Benny Goodman Trio.

Amazing enough, this song was made even before that: in 1918, the song was composed by Turner Layton, and the lyrics by Henry Creamer. It was made for the soldiers who were fighting in The Great War, as, according to the lyrics (this is just my inference), it’s about a soldier who’s wife back home is cheating on him, and it talks about how she’ll basically regret it and die with a broken heart, just he currently was after hearing the news.

I understanding it fine you condescending goon.I just happen to think its garbage ..... let me explain in excruciating detail exactly why.
Basic premise is that this highly technological race discover, earth artefacts and are utterly incapable of using the science, technology and deductive logic inherent in developing the technology that has allowed them to achieve this feat to analyse said alien artefacts.
See the inherent FLAW in these kinds of narratives???
In developed scfi circles this is know as the "Stupid Aliens fallacy" ... though i shouldn't be too critical since its a staple of low brow mainstream scfi.
Lazy unimaginative writers create aliens with just a little less deductive intelligence than they estimate their target audience has ... hence the prevalence of "Stupid Aliens.
(and yes i know now i am the one being condescending guess am kind of triggered at this point)

Wonderful. This was the first time I watched a 50's comic dance musical that takes place in outer space after an apocalypse. This is what I call creativity. There are not enough words to thank someone who can invent new things at a time when everything is just one more dose of the same thing.
The movie also seems to be a love affair with music and in that it is not new, but it is never too late to repeat how fantastic the music is. Unfortunately, music and creativity do not seem to be enough to give us judgment, as some prefer to spend their time setting fire to the Amazon rainforest rather than listening to good blues.
