Costs of airplane ownership vary widely from owner to owner. This video takes an average of the various expenses from existing owners and boils them down to simple to digest numbers. Your ownership experiences will be unique.
I love the rendering for the two place jet :) Imagine what a four place would look like
1:30 man, sonex love their parallel lines.
Also, gotta love a video that’s 50% digression into naming conventions 😁
He's got a very valid point
Sonex is just following the standard GA plane convention of making the type and models as confusing as humanly possible 😅
“I flew here in my Highwing” = every Cessna pilot
*most
"Wait, no, had the list upside down"
Comedy gold, Jerry!
Flaming Pterodactly - what a great aircraft name. Love it
That's the sonex motoglider 😂
Right up there with screaming firehawk lol
Look at Michael Bay here with the special effects. Special indeed.
Just here to support you in favor for the algorithm gods.
Great video as always. You never fail! Keep them coming!
Hey Thanks 👍
Add me to the list of people respectfully wishing for a cost-to-own of the Van's RV-12is. Though I've enjoyed all your reviews and cost-to-own videos so far.
Congrats on the dynon sponsorship!
It's a box that flies and I like it.
If I fit in this, it will be my first plane. Sonex told me to expect another update by the end of the year since they haven’t had one since April.
How tall are you? I spoke to sonex to make this video. The only undisclosed update they had for me was the door bottom will be 1 inch higher than previously thought. They may be holding back something more juicy
@@CompleteWalkaround 6’6-6’7. From the April update it sounded like the high wing will have more headroom for us taller folk and have a wider cabin than the model B.
I have high hopes it can be a true 2 seater if I only carry 20 gallons of fuel and very light baggage.
If I fit in this, it might also be my first plane. Side by side seats? No, center seat! Fat guy in a little plane, hah.
0:10 Lando Calrissian likee
Two place jet would go CRAZY, show up those bd4 guys
I love videos about aircraft, where the word "probably" is thrown around a lot.😀
You could quote the engine power. From whatever engine you use to quote perf figures and costs
Yeah, 138 knots at what I assume was 4.5GPH or so sounds highly questionable, those cheaper engines aren't known for being fuel efficient.
The two-place jet looks like the R-201 Asterozoa from Ace Combat 3
People are bashing its looks but I think it looks really good! Way better looking than the Murphy Rebel copy, the RV15. I know this isn’t meant to compete with Vans new highwing, and that’s a good thing. I think these will fly off the shelf
2:54 i think the flaming pterodactyl is a great name.... too bad people dont name planes like they do boats..... then again, maybe that's a good thing. How many boats have you seen named "Liberty" or "Fantasea".
What cheesy plane names would match these?
The Highex would be a great name
It looks like a full size electric RC trainer lol
Perfectly pithy postulations! Your content is nearly perfect as usual but I’d like to suggest a barely noticeable improvement: ditch the hyphen in your ranges for a dash-the En dash. The Trouble With Em ‘n En on A List Apart for the gory details. Pretty please?
Shouldn't it be an "en" dash for ranges? -
@@ryankennedy3109 Doh! Fixed (and that edit deleted Mr. Walkaround’s like). Shhh, don’t tell the author I made that typo.
That's next tier level request yo. I'll see if I have an en dash key on here somewhere
@@CompleteWalkaround that article has all the codes and keyboard shortcuts for the major apps at the time. But things might have changed a bit since 2001 when I wrote it. Whenever I’m using an app that those codes don’t work in, I’ll paste the typesetting characters into a Word doc or text editor then copy and paste whatever I need.
What you’re doing on this channel is utterly amazing and I want to know that they always make me smile. The perfect mixture of entertainment and serious information getting injected into our brains at a speed and density I didn’t realize was possible.
Thanks Man.
I was joking about the keys 😉
I'm skeptical about the speculative models. Where's the varieze!? Keep up the good work!
He's in rare form in this one.
But good or bad way?
@@lockirocuthere is no bad way
Sonex Highwing = Sierra Hotel! 💪
this will be a fun Texas Hill Country plane
You should do an rv12 cost to own
Why does the front profile look like a plane I would draw when I was 5.
Maybe "Classic" Sonex?
RV-12iS Cost of ownership? 😊 Btw love the hiex… erm Highwing 😂
How do people home-build airplanes?? Where do you have the space and time to do that??
Small planes. This would probably fit in a typical two car garage
you will have plenty of time after your wife stops talking to you
1:30 SQUARE
dh chipmunk next ? plz i beg you or a tiger moth
Tiger Moth!
Omg. To funny!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not probably cool though. It's a sonex, it will definitely be cool!
Do the douglas dc-3 as a joke pls
The larger engines will be more better…
Hmm... Sonex + High Wing = Sigh Wing.
Done. Ship it.
That's pretty good really. or Psywing
I'd call mine a Hiex
Please Sonex: "Hiex"
I hadn’t heard about the two place jet. Why did they just stick two of them together though? That seems extremely wasteful and kind of lazy.
No no, the shown twin fuselage is just fantasy, look at sonex 2 seater jet
@@Martin-jc8kk That’s a relief! (Not that I could afford one anyway.)
first
Squarest little boy
That video was a waste of my time. Learned? nothing factual.
Thanks for taking the time to register your indifference.
Why build a new plane that is a tail dragger its old design 🤷♂️🙆♂️😳
Because tailwheels are lighter and faster and more fun to fly then their tricycle gear counterparts. They are better suited for unimproved runways and in the case of kit planes, cost less to buy. And of course, you'd be lying to yourself if you thought they're not cooler.
