In fact all three of you guys are. .make a great team on the sleds and I am certain that the three of you would certainly build a first class sled with mountain riding. .make several models for the beginner and all the way up to the Top for Advance Riders.

That will be a great improvement. It will be like riding a new sled. Another free and easy mod that will also be a good improvement and will save you about 4-5lbs is to cut all the finger lugs off that track to match the 3" version of it. The front of the rear skid will need raised like you said. I worked on a 2012 cat that had a 16 front put on the same way and the added ski pressure would rip the bars out of your hands. Lowered the front of the skid and that problem was solved but created two more problems. The added approach angle wore the hifax off in ten miles and the risk of stabbing the track was obvious.
    Minor things, good luck

Dropping your front end like that is going to lead to more ski pressure unless you drop your skid to match, i know you did but definitely not an inch, but when you drop your skid you'll also be changing the track approach angle, another issue. Couple years ago I upgraded my 14 to a 16 for the improvements. Was thinking of swapping the front end but found a sweet deal on a 16 so jumped on it. Liked my 14 but love my 16. Not sure if you have tried this but I read removing the front bogey wheels helps with the sleds on edge performance on off camber crusty snow conditions. I'm keeping an eye on my sliders and so far no noticable excessive wear. What are your thoughts.

    • @syxxes

  • @spirited1puppetmastered917

Great vids and glad I saw this one as I am adding a 36" front end on my 2012 (40" front end). I found the ski pressure on that year wayy too much so I dropped and pulled back the skid 1.25" each way. Then after lengthening the limiter strap, maxing the front(rear) spring, adding an anti stab and trimming the back end of the skid off she rides awesome, but would like it to be a little easier to side hill. So now the narrow front end, Id love to raise the front a little bit but then its back to more ski pressure, I might need some shocks. Wait and see.. Know anyone with 16.33" or 17" fox shocks??
I am very interested on how she rode after the install and any other adjustments you had to do.
So any vids on tunnel shortening ???
    Keep up the good work!

Hey Matt: Looks like you 4th lug nut on your front left tire needs to be torqued again? I can just tell.
Taking advice or criticism from CZcams mechanics is just noise.
Keep up the great Vids, absolutely look forward to them each day.
I have no F'ing idea what i am talking about when it comes to lug nuts or truck wheels.

The shorter shock would help the camber issue. Whole lot cheaper and easier to do what you did.

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  Pƙed 4 lety +1

Yup. Thats the reason the camber was so far out. It's got some pretty aggressive ski pressure now too though.

After weeks of trying to figure out why I had a one-sided camber issue on my 2017 Mountain Cat, I've learned through buying 3+ different spindles that contrary to popular belief, the 2016+ spindles are NOT all the same. I've even got 2 with the same part #, and they're bent differently - not by accident, but at the factory - multiple variations match, so it's no accident.
    F**king frustrating.
Just saying, that could be the camber issue you're running into as well.

Get rid of that piece of junk lol, I had a 2014 and thought about modding it but instead traded it in for a 2018. I thought I might miss it but I forgot about it in about 5 minutes of riding the new one. Everything about it is better, the track, the handling, the power, the clutching, the ease of the way it comes apart, it's way better on fuel, it burns 1/3 the amount of oil, it doesn't blow belts.. I could go on and on... if I were you I'd just trade it in on a 2019 snopro or something, they will all be on sale here, I bet you'll get one for 11500 or so. Our local dealership has a few for 13k right now with 5 years of warranty, I'm actually thinking about it because my 18 is now off warranty.

Syxxes Performance ya man doo it. I've done what your doing before and the problem I had is you get so much time and money infested in your sled and then at the end of the day you're still riding an old piece of shit you have to wrench on all the time and when you do finally get pissed off enough and trade it in you get 4 grand for it.
