    Good video. We did 2 sleds before our season started. Great product. Cheap insurance. When we took apart a 2019 we found the second airbox wasnt installed correctly from factory and air box all the way to the throttle bodies was soaked and filthy!

    They should have put it on the airbox connecting to throttle bodies. I feel the most leaks happen at the hoods connection to air box.

  • @spirited1puppetmastered917

    I hhave always found the leaks come from the cheap grey foam gasket that is supposed to seal the hood to the airbox especially if the oil injectors have been leaking into said airbox. I feel a tubular gasket would solve the issue .

    I fixed the problem at the root cause. Split the air box. Siliconed and put back together. All you did is stop the snow at the intake. It will eventually melt leaving a huge puddle in front of the screen. I was worried the sled could get a huge shot of water and could blow the motor. My intake was bone dry after silicone the air box.

    • @craftedaxe6665
      @craftedaxe6665 Před 3 lety

      @@boser1212 no I didn't, I wasn't sure where to start I ended up doing a test run with silicone on the outside of the sled where the hood pops off at the front and that seemed to help some but if I take it off I'll have to redo it

    • @boser1212
      @boser1212 Před 3 lety

      @@craftedaxe6665 yeah so instead of silicone there use a small amount of grease. Just enough to help grab moisture. I highly recommend splitting your air box. Essentially the air box/hood and headlight assembly all come apart. It’s a lot of screws and takes some time but quite straight Forward.

    Interesting, the airbox design sucks I love the laydown motor but they need to figure out away not to have a connection at the bottom where you get all the snow/moisture buildup. I would get all my moisture where there hood and airbox connect down by the bumper so I would think this frog skin box wouldn’t do it anything to help the issue.

    I've been telling cat guys for years to seal their damn airboxes but they don't and then complain about ctecs when they have a problem. On my 19 I'd have water dumping out of mine when I'd pull the hood. Haps in airbox seams. Brand new sled. This will kill any engine. No water since taking apart and sealing up. I might still get the protect air just for extra insurance.

  • @jonathanlager1719
    @jonathanlager1719 Před 3 lety

    If ur good and know the arctics u should know that box need to be installed by the "carburettor box" and not in the hood. The problem is not that the water comes from the top of the hood down to the carburetors, the problem is the seal between the hood and the engine compartment and condensation. So do not buy this item because you will only waste money.
