I'm 76 and have been playing computer games since Pong was state of the art. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think computers would get this sophisticated. It's just mind blowing and I'm really enjoying it all.
I used to build Pong machines and sell them. Games are very different now.
В пасьянс играете или в змейку? 😁
@@scamsuncensored7740 Wow, very cool. Do you remember "Intellivision" and "Omega" computer games? They were state of the art in their time.
@@ZZZZZZZayac No, I used to play a lot of Quake2 online. Now I mostly play flight simulators, it's more relaxing for this old dude.😄
@@carlcat I remember those! Colecovision, too. My dad got us a Bally Arcade (Astrocade) at Montgomery Wards in the 80’s and that was so cool.
We came to an Era where the demos of the tools to make games has become better than the games produced with the tool.
Just a theory here, but perhaps the tools to make games are better than the games produced by the tool because we have tools producing the games made from the better tool?
TBH, I think the game are already too detailed.
Games are getting better graphics but worse stories and gameplay. Soon we can rename "games" to "paid graphics demo".
@@LordKosmux they’re basically, to say- ‘'Interactive Movies'’
Согласен. Инструменты есть , а мастеров ими работать нет .
Looks great, camera movement is killing it though.

I came here to say the same thing. It was painful to see such absolutely AMAZING visuals, but with very VERY bad camerawork.
Yeah, it was nauseating for me at times. 🙁
Also the foley / sound design is a bit shoddy at times.
That snow is insanely well made. It legit looks proper
But the cars look like plastic toys.
@@georgkrahl56 As an old gamer, I don't care much about props. Now that you mention it, they look really bad and disproportional to the environment. I figure it would've felt more honest without them.
With some wind movement of the foliage it would look real.
😅 Look at you trying to sound smart around the foliage.😂
@@knowledgeadams1150 but its true :)
That was my first observation as well. I mean critique-wise, "freaking amazing, just needs wind moving things around."
not alone movement but also atmospheric effects, insects, dust and so on. The engine is capable to go much higher with particles and other stuff but for the sake of a tech demo, which should run decent on many actual pcs, not only super machines, it's good enough, though
Thats what i thought. Leaves and trees are a bit rigid.
it's not about the details, it's about what you can do with the details.
Very pretty!
The lag when the camera is moving is pretty annoying though.
A bit more realistic wind with small movements in the foliage would make it even better also.
It's called Motion Blur and needs to be reduced about 50%. I Agree
@@TommyGunsDunleavy motion blur should be off by default. it is obnoxious and I've never seen an acceptable implementation to this day.
@@TommyGunsDunleavy Motion Blur needs to be removed from every single game on earth. If you play with it and like it, that's fine but if you stream, record or otherwise upload any video content... no.
Also, this guy recording was using a controller to move. Yikes!
you're never happy you really piss people off at times omg
That last scene in the snow is quite good. I think it was really close to those 4k videos of people walking.
This is astounding .. I’m 50 and I thinking back to my Amiga at 17 or my zx spectrum at 11/12 .. I honestly would not have thought it would get this good so soon as it looks like a film someone took in a tropical location not computer graphics 😮
I remember playing with Intellivision, thinking that was advanced technology. 😜
Same age here.. I remember back in those days we would talk with friends like "I wonder if there will someday be games where you could live real life, like go to store etc".
We have come a long way since, at least on graphics, are games actually better is another conversation.
I'm 58 and I remember coming home one day and telling my Dad about the AMAZING graphics of a new arcade game called Galaxian.
Yes graphics are better but game play is very bad, I can't get the same pleasure from any of them as I do from the Mario game, red alert 2, vampire masquarade etc..
I had an Atari 2600 and my friend’s family got the Colecovision for Christmas the year it came out. It was next level.
Someone needs, NEEDS to remake the first Unreal in this new engine.
Yeah, the jungle/temple settings and sounds remind of the original Unreal. It was great, the successor was nicer, but had a reduced, too linear gameplay.
No... that's how you ruin a classic.
This looks incredible!! I would love the next Tomb Raider to look like this
Prepare yourself to spend 50k euros for the hardware.....
@@guidorovelli1888 lmfaooo BS. I have a 1,3000$ laptop and it runs all new UE5 at ultra. So clearly our new gpu aren’t that expensive
Why not, If You can buy RTX 4090 or 5080 at end of the year.
minus the 1st person perspective
@@guidorovelli1888 start investing time to learn pc hardware you have no clue about what you are saying here.
Without foliage movement, feels like when you pause a game in theatre mode
As soon as DLSS is ready for UE 5.4 we will provide access to these projects. A bit buggy currently, but with GPU settings and DLSS, 5.4 can be accessed via lower spec PCs.
Whats the point of having all this details and use dlss?
It will just be a blurry mess, no matter the version of the upscaler.
Dlss allready look better than dlna, fsr is the flickering blurry mess
only one thing left for one more step in reality - grass and trees not moving at all in all videos. It makes that screens deadly nice
@nave3411 I did see some tree and leaves movement, but I agree there needs to be more.
Ok! This is beyond mind-blowing! Can't even come close to imagining the amount of work done in this! Artwork and design, Animation, lighting, sounds! Wow!! Incredible!!
You are too grateful you are supposed to be moaning about the camera movement or some other 💩 🤨! Not realising how incredible this is for gameplay 🤔
breath-taking. i would say realistic camera movements while walking would take this to another level. when camera pans, i feel like i am in a doom game.
Just think of it as filmed with a drone...
If only it could ever match the glory of DooM.
Spoiler... It can't.
I got cold looking at the snow scene. Insane
Demos and some games sometimes let you look directly into the sun, without shielding your eyes and without incurring any penalties. I think some interesting game mechanic could be derived from changing that.
It's like watching a medieval Halo following that glowing orb - reminds me of the care taker humming and whistling as it guided you along .
Now that we have super high end graphics, we only need one thing again: Good, interesting gameplay.
I know, it's senseless to hope for that.
Gorgeous snowy night!
Incredibly beautiful, I hope over time you can add wind to make everything look even more natural
The matrix demo is the one I like the most, I was surprise that we could see the building rooms on the inside.
It would be very cool to see some kind of physics: crumbling pebbles or the wind moving the jungle.
From Pong to this is pretty stunning.
Very cool!!! What computer configuration?
Hi. Can you show adjustments for recording this gameplay (electric dreams) ? takerecorder? camera settings? and of course drone blueprint.... So need it.... Thanks a lot
More of a Testament of what incredible Job the Devs did with this Demo doubt many Games will get to that Level of Realism the Amount of Work Has To Be Insane.
The woman driving in the Matric demo was suprisingly accurate.
😂😜
Looks amazing. One thing that still stands out to me is how windows and cars, especially in the city, are all spotless. It'll look more realistic once things are a bit dirtier. A fine film of dust, smog, and dirt will go a long way. But still, it looks awesome
Winter looks incredible.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I've tried all the playable demos before, except the "Winter Environment". How come your recorded video is a bit different from the one on ArtStation link you provided? The playable demo level is not the same, and you also have the Morning scene option.
EDIT: never mind, I found a newer version (v2.0). Just please change the ArtStation link - artwork Id from "lRXGPz" to "g00QmQ" in the video description, so others can also check out the newer version.
man, this looks so cool, I think I'm gonna start playing video games in 10 years.
So excited to see this level of realism in future games, especially with VR and LLM AI's guiding the narrative, hell you could create a whole holodeck to simulate anything you want on command with the latest AI agents and voice commands using this kind of engine and free libraries available for games.
Wow, gaming is about to go to the next level.
30:03 hahaha no way!!!!!! SNOW, that is awsome. its really nice made. VIVA le PARTICLE hahaha.
the foliage looks great but i can see the rocks need more work ironically, the scale high cliff rocking is pretty good though.
Stunning lightning effects. But i am missing some wind for the vegetation. Ancient temple remembers me on old unreal tournament maps.
I still remember playing the original Doom. Graphics came a long ways in a short period of time.
I loved the first doom, but graphics were horrible compared to this.
The nature and the snow especially look absolutely amazing. What i'm still missing is realistic weather physics such as wind and objects reaction wo windspeeds (breeze, intensifying to storm etc) rain, heavy rain, thunderstorm, tornado, hurricane etc. - wonder when that will become so realistic that you can't distinguish it anymore... 10 yeasr maybe?
Things sure have come a long way since I was first mesmerized by Pong back in the 70's. 😆😆
i can feel the hitching though. need that nvidia dlss for unreal engine 5.4 plugin ASAP!
Yes looks amazing, but I would like to see what a character looks like walking around that environment
Just Wow!
The winter scene should be quiter. That much snow dampens the sound. It's usually remarkably quiet outside in the snow.
Looks great! Would love to see a little more interaction - explosive destruction preferably :)
Coming through the tunnel, I almost expected a Khajit to step out from the shadows demanding a toll...
I currently studying unreal for 3 months now, and I'm addicted.
wow, that must be amazing - perhaps u will be taking it forward in a few yrs :)
@@davidstuart4915 Yeah, I will become good at it and will be helping companies who need my skills.
Great details, really authentic feeling. There is still room for improvement in camera movement and exposure balance - bright areas are too bright. Would a filter help?
This is unreal!!!!
Well it is an unreal engine demo 😳
woww. i need a gameplay with that graphic.
Pretty cool, wish they could redo some of the outdoor levels in Halo 3 with it.
None of the plant life is moving, pretty clear to the human eye. I see 10 - 15 things they could do to make this a lot better
I started off also playing Nintendo Game and Watch small handheld LCD and little game machine like space invaders in the late 1970s, and I had a great one like Scramble with fixed LCDs. Then around that time Pong on a Grandstand video console, my friend had similar his also had a light gun to shoot a moving white square. Then my pal got an Atari around 1980/ 1981 and I clocked Defender. He was rich and also got one of the first VHS machines so we played Atari and got ‘Video nasty’ horror films out of the video library.
A few years later in about 1982 I got a Sinclair Spectrum I was overwhelmed when I saw ‘Manic Miner’ with 20 levels. I upgraded then to a Commodore 64 about 1984 then an Atari ST around 1987.
Next came consoles, I had the first Sega Megadrive (didn’t get a first Nintendo), then a SNES.
Next came a PlayStation.
I then got a PC and had a console hiatus for a while, until the first Xbox.
Then after that came the PS4.
I have given up gaming after experiencing classics such as The Last Of Us, due to limited time.
My son however picked up the mantle and now has an Xbox 360.
I’m heading for retirement in maybe 6-8 years and hopefully will have time again to get the latest gaming console and the graphics are getting better and better. I will then continue my gaming life.
I see a lot of nitpicking in the comment section, but I wonder how many have made scenes this good? 🤔
how on Earth could that snow scene trigger one of my memory 😂❤
Looks real. That’s why Star Wars drama used UE5 for their VFX, like LED Wall.
The Jungle Scene - Was mind blowing!! - But for one small detail... Bear Grylls boiling a bug in a bog!
Increase the focal length to that of what we normally perceive ( ie make the FOV narrower) and this really would be astounding
Well, I am wondering what minimal PC configuration is needed for making worlds like this in the clip? I have low end PC, i7 with 16GB of ram and G-Force GTX1660, with 6GB of graphics ram, and I am using Twinmotion, which is based on Unreal engine, but I can't even render with Lumen or path tracer, and I can't even start Unreal engine with my configuration.
Impressive.
I would like to have seen some water scenes. Waves and lapping at the shore, and rocks, etc.
May be a waterfall too.
The visuals are stunning, even fire and the gait of people walking is quite credible. What needs to be improved now IMO is the sound, i.e. the reflection of the footsteps on the environment, especially in closed environments. Working in the film industry, i am especially aware of the immersive effect of the sound.
I need a horror game in that snow
very good, keep em coming.
this looks insane
It's good - but it's still just being viewed on a flat panel output device which kills the opportunity of immersion that this level of graphical prowess COULD be providing.
For immersion to truly reach the next level this graphic level needs to be the norm whilst being pumped into your eyes via wireless VR headset. We're not a million miles away from that - but that's the next generational leap we're all really waiting for.
I wonder what components will be needed to play such beauty in 1080p the sound of snow doesn't sound right, it's more like the sound of styrofoam rubbing
I need games have been looking at this for 2 years
I remember buying my first video card back in the nineties: NVIDIA with a whopping 12 Mb.
Some people asked my why I bought it because "I would never need so much video power"...
Insane!
2 Questions: Which hardware is required to run this let's say in FHD @ 60 fps? And will this engine be available for VR games?
Am i the only one who thinks that these kind of graphics should have been possible in the PS4 Era? Starting from PS4 onwards i have not seen a really big jump in graphics like we used to.
I remember being shocked by the awesome graphics available from SNES to PS1, again from PS1 to PS2 and again from PS2 to PS3.
These days we mostly see bigger jumps in rendering resolution or texture resolution, things like raytracing are still a gimmick even today as they are not really full proper raytracing anyways.
How much fps is city sample giving you?
Make this ES6, and it was worth the wait!
I DONT WANT DEMOS I WANT FULL GAMES AND A LOT OF THEM!!
Very impressive 🤩👍
Just awesome Demos, thats all. Where are the Games?
Best engine for demos
is the gamma a bit too high? washing it out. the intense contrasts of reality help
Maybe they just didn't spend enough time on them, but the later ones show some pretty glaring issues, but this could have and likely is due to time restraints
Shadow, reflections, and GI have come a long way, and will only get better, as hardware becomes more powerful, new approximations that require less processing time, and how we create environments, these I believe will push us into the next generation
Better in showcase! Never seen such any in game graphics as UE promised to offer.
Also add some sounds of twigs breaking as we walk and more animal sounds.
Amazing.
Only water (river) is left to improve… really amazing what is possible now
Glad it looks so superreal so they can finnaly start focusing on how to touch things and breakability. Also game-devs could change back to look more into game quality than only looks. Which AA titles already do, while still looking very nice.
sound design could use some work but those graphics are stunning
How to obtain the mountain assets in the video
As a botanist, I assure you, the jungle sounds do not match the landscape. But it IS pretty good.
waiting for games that look like this to finally be released
only to open a map and see 1000 "?" and meet a enemy and realize its the same brainded AI as in the year 2000. But "graphics!!!"
Right? Worse, go back and watch the UE demos from 3 years ago. Havent even seen THAT in anything on the horizon let alone eye candy like this.
I haven't seen anything better than existing AAA games.
Запишите это видео в 60 fps, для хорошей плавной картинки. Картинка идёт рывками
Это движок такой, в плане оптимизации пока плохой. Посмотри игры на 5 анриле, они все не оптимизированы
Cool. Can we get some good games made with this yet?
Not anytime soon. And if you do it'll be DEI'd so hard it'll make you sick.
Finally, I am assured we are living in a simulation.
26:00 damn it look soo cool.
Wish Square Enix’ FF7 team could master this and started the remake series with this realistic lighting 😅
For anyone wondering why the movement is so choppy the guy was probably only getting 10 fps because of the photo realistic graphics and then post rendered it so it could be shown in 60 fps.
Which CPU and how many RAM ? Tell me pls on what a System.❤
Honestly, this level of quality feel like someone with vision problem.
Are these games/ demos i can download and play?
WOOWW AWESOME
