- Stephen Warnock is with us this week lifting the lid on the £200k error that kept him out of the Champions League final squad. Rafa's on the sh*t list, Big Sam's on the stag do, and don't mention Gerrard.

Parky has sat across from Phil Brown and Graham Westley and not said boo to a goose. But he would have gone in and chinned Gerard Houllier. Righto
The rafa admin errors story has a whiff of Mike bassett about it...
'you tell me where it says Benson and hedges on there..'
Great interview!!
No wonder he woke up and his trousers were down…..the guy took his belt again 😂😂😂😂
The Hillsborough wreath bit choked me up a bit. Such a lovely moment you can tell that meant a lot to him. He's a really decent chap.
It makes you realise how shit it is on Sky, he's obviously really professional on sky but this made him far more relaxed and it's great to see him in this setting. Great episode, seems like a good guy
Ever since parky bottled it with his old manager I can't take his "I'd do this, I'd do that" comments seriously 😂😂
Completely absent in that interview. It was hilarious 😂
What did parky do ? 😂
@@user-rm6cj7yj9iabsolutely nothing 😂barely spoke when westley was on
"I'm fokin hittin him." 😅🤣
John:" I would of kicked his head in " parkin
It would appear as though most clubs he went to, gave him a raw deal & were against him, common denominator possibly!
yeh I'd love to hear the other side of some of these stories. Some seem BS or at least exaggerated.
Watched him play for Leeds - Solid full back in a poor side. Always came across as a level headed, decent bloke. This podcast confirms it 👍
Tbf that was one of the most interesting ones yet didn't expect this one to be this good
Total mind changed. I wasn't going to listen because I thought he'd be boring. Deff glad I watched great stuff.
Quality player and a thoroughly decent bloke. I now understand his phone call celebration when he scored the week after the incident at Watford! Love it.
I gwt the impression stephens career wasnt as good as it could've been because if everyone else . He doesnt come across as the most resolute/strong characters . Couldve played at Anfield but spat the dummy and went out and got drunk . What happened to " ill prove them wrong " . Seems a descent guy but everything is other peoples faults 🏴✌️
I think without the serious leg breaks he would of established himself as liverpool's left back ,had a lovely left foot and a great attitude. Shame about the injuries but a good lad
Huge achievement that he still played over 500 games
Comes across so well too doesn't he. I bloody love this podcast.
Came to us at Blackburn and was brilliant. Broke into the England squad soon after signing for Rovers
Without Benitez he would have. Look at the tripe he brought in
Was a big fan of Warnock at Blackburn. Tough tackling, great engine.
To be fair what he says about being behind Ashley Cole is spot on. What a left back. Underrated by many in world football
How is he underrated lmao, only person most people consider up there with him through his generation is Maldini
@@christaylor1913 are u taking the piss? Have you forgotten the likes of Lizarazu? Carlos? Cabbrini? Brietner from the 70’s .. world cup winners. You dont know your left backs my friend. Yes some different generations but still.. Ashley Cole definetly didnt get the credit he deserved whilst he was playing
Widely considered one of the best left backs of all time but underrated lol what a load of shit
He's not underrated mate
@@andymccardleofficial7615 through his generation, should've prob read the comment first
Lads this is the BEST so far, sounds like a great lad interviews brilliantly too
Benitez did well for a manager with no people skills.
Never expected this episode to be so good, great watch
Shocking by Rafa that.
Zzzzzzz
More shocking by the club. I know nobody loves FSG, but there are finally some adults in charge.
Don’t know who’s worse though, him, Houllier or O’Neill - I’d argue the latter!
@@olliem40remember you’re only hearing one side of the story here though. Common theme that Warnock always seems to be on the wrong end of all these awful managerial decisions … could just be really unlucky, or maybe he wasnt the white knight he claims to be . Who knows
@@ronb5714What by leaving him behind !? There is a big reason why Man U got away from us in the 90’s the owner and whoever he had employed at the club were out of touch and we as a club paid for it, they stuck with Carlsberg for no reason other then loyalty, Carlsberg were underpaying Liverpool for sponsorship at the time, we made no effort with the merchandising of the club or sponsorship, the club shop was closed the day after Istanbul and they had not ordered anything to sell if we had won it,
That Blackburn team... Friedel, Nelsen, Neill, Samba, Emerton, Pedersen, Bentley, Warnock, Tugay, Santa Cruz, Mokoena, McCarthy.... such a good bunch of players
One of the best so far. Well done.
Now sky is owned by comcast its football coverage is utter shite. I dont know anyone that subscribes like the old days. Ruined soccer AM, ruined soccer saturday and trashed punditry.
Totally - all their shows now are unwatchable. Soccer Saturday used to be quality, MNF was always must watch.
Filled with DEI hires and Yuuuutuber banter wankers hawking FIFA cards at you
Infested with woke, box ticking, virtue signalling agenda driven BS..🧐👍🏻
Soccer AM was TV gold with Lovejoy, chamberlain, fenners, tubes & sheepshead
Totally agree I used to love watching sky sports News but it's got that woke I can't watch it for 5mins without wanting to chuck ma telly through the window
Straight into my top 5 lads.
Usually expect the guests who do tv/media to be abit closed off but genuinely nice guy, open and honest
Can you give us the list of your top five lads in order? Cheers.

@@tocacars Great lads 👌
@@-fells-
Billy Jones just out also, feeling that’ll be a goodun too
@@tocacars Solid list of lads. I'd have Tom Gray in the mix myself, but I can't fault your picks.
Great as ever, didn’t expect that tbf from Stephen but really enjoyed it! What a legend and who knew he went through so much shit. Nice to see he can look back at it all in a good way and that he may have acted differently in hindsight but we mature as we get older👴
Been a patreon for years - love this podcast!!! Parky - up your game, keep it going chaps.
Great interview. Been a Liverpool fan all my life but never knew much about Warnock. Top guy.
am i going bat shit crazy are did warnock repeat the same thing twice
Really good pod this big Sam underrated probably one of the best man managers and he got results from it
Spurs game at Anfield 2005 Rafa did start him and he and got subbed after 34 minutes. Not that he came on last 20. Why lie?
Brilliant this lads, thought he was a bit of a helmet on sky but Stephen comes across great and is a real genuine down to earth lad, fantastic 🙌🏻
Absolutely brilliant this one lads, it’s up there with some of your best ones 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Another cracking episode...great content guys and Stephen seems a really good guy
Wow what an eye opener into the shambles of clubs, agents etc. We all have stories of players come out that aren't bothered and down tools yet the truth can be very different
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this fascinating insight into the life of a professional footballer. Warnock was great, very honest and would make an ace after dinner speaker one day 👌
First time I've seen this channel. Great insights. Shocking the way Stephen was treated. Always liked him at the Villa.
O'Neil thought he was cloughie. 😮
I thought that listening to it. He was trying to do the reverse psychology and days off training. You have to be a certain type of personality to pull that off with the mental stuff and obviously training methods and fitness had moved on loads since then. It was never going to work.
@@dfnffc the worst thing is how he would never rotate the squad, relying on the same 11 players all season and on top of that not even give the players, frozen out a proper look in even in training. No wonder the likes of Reo-Coker blew up at him. The more I hear about O'Neill, the more of a disappointment he becomes.
@@MrMamooshka I'm a Forest fan so don't know much about what he did at Villa but it doesn't surprise me. What became blindingly apparent when MON became manger at Forest a few years ago was that he'd become a footballing dinosaur. Everything that he did was methods and outlook of an era we left behind 20 years before.
@@dfnffc MON peaked in 1999 so no surprise there.
@@dfnffc I agree and his stubbornness with it says a lot about how his career petered out post-Villa. Warnock's story chimes with another from his Leicester days where in a post match MOTD interview O'Neill quipped Savage "lacks only one thing... Ability". It's the sort of thing that would just alienate most of today's players.
People used to champion him as an up-and-coming manager as a possible successor to Fergie or a potential England manager and I'm starting to think everyone was just taken in by the glasses.
Hearing about how villa was run back then makes my skin crawl. Had all the assets for champions league and yet O’Neill let clowns like Gabby run the dressing room for him
Loved the in depth talk about his time at Derby ....
in all seriousness though thought he did a decent job for us
Best episode yet lads 👍 Come across as a Great lad Warnock, bad laughing at parts of this 😂
Proper sound bloke Stephen Warnock and an excellent full back for Rovers he was top quality we had a very good side back then top 6 material 👍
A good solid lad and professional 👏 came to Leeds and to be honest prob came when we weren't that great.nice words to say about us.
Cheers - good listen
Such a good speaker.
Great Left back for Rovers
Good interview and guy, I had forgot he played for West Ham, steady Eddy as a player.
Brilliant episode 👍
Was very steady at Derby wish he was here longer
Either he is truthful....or going after people? Bit of both maybe? As for Hoolahoop....said it all at Melwood!!
Another brilliant guest 👏🏿
Came across as a decent, down to earth guy, showed certain big name managers lack people skills, and some who get a bad press are good guys. Great interview.
Rate this one, not what i expected seems a proper down to earth good lad
Great episode
Loved his honesty YNWA SW top class guys
Thanks 👌👌
Can’t knock his honesty good solid left back
Stephen "fucking hell" warnock!!
When’s the Adam hammill one guys?!
Seems a genuine guy 👍
Excellent as always lads .
Please get Richard Keogh on now he retired the derby section be worth it 🤪
Enjoyed this one, seems like a good guy.
What a player. Proper left back. Cant wait for this.
Warnock didn’t play for West Ham! But I love these boys!!!!
Nice lad! Good episode
You'd think he was Roberto Carlos how he goes on about himself. I remember him just being shite at Leeds. He was skinned every game by wingers.
Favourite day of the week with you guys. Thank you.
I was at that Fulham game, Warnock was brilliant. Remember wondering why doesn't he always play CM...
Quality episode
Big Sam what a ledge
I get the impression that he was fuming.....
Great one this
Great podcast
Missed out Bradford as one of his clubs (on loan over 2 spells)...Very good fullback 4 us...UPTFC 🐔🐓👏🏻😍
P.s Eden Rahic was the league 2 Cellino...Absolutely wrecked our League Cup Final team within a few months after the final...Absolute nut job!!!...🤯🤯🥊🐔🐓
Great episode lads...Really enjoyed it...SW come over really well and is so different to the straight laced pundit we see on sky sports...Top effort lads...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Lads u gotta get Stuart McCall on as well...He would be great...Bradford Legend...🐔🐓😍 P.p.s It's defo a Dabber!!!...😉
No offence but he’s not really gonna mention Bradford when he’s been on playing for the likes of Liverpool Blackburn and Villa in the Premier League.
@FannyShmellar actually SW did mention Bradford twice but I was saying the lads didn't mention he played for Bradford on the intro...UPTFC 🐔🐓😍👍🏻
Really enjoyed that. Should have kept hold of him. Much better than the likes of Dossena and Insua who came in after.
Top player at Rovers, was spewin when we sold him to Villa
How do you tell someone john is from Barnsley without saying John's from Barnsley
Tell them to watch this video, John's first question is, "So do you get free Sky then" 😂
Great interview. Top player and top fella. But Capello taking Warnock over Leighton Baines to the 2010 World Cup was one of his weirder decisions.
Baines said he got homesick in an interview in a throw away comment and capello bizarrely thought it was too serious an issue to take Baines, Warnock was nowhere near the player Baines was so not sure what Capello was playing at
@@dogsbollocksgenius9480 That’s right, I remember that. Don’t think Baines even brought it up, just got asked if he’ll miss his family while he’s away 😂 Bizarre. Agree Baines was miles better, but both of them were unfortunate that Cole was around. Not really been many good left backs since!
Always made a bit of a lazy assumption of him, whether it be from sky or not, that he was a bit of a tool.. gladly wrong on that. Seems like a genuine nice fella
Met Stephen when Wigan got promoted from League One, he’s a genuine, top bloke. Great player as well. Got a lot of time for him.
Warnock = if david O’Leary and Steve McQueen has a love chyyyllllle
Top episode 😊
says he doesn’t care whether the Josemi story is true, then proceeds to spend 5 minutes whinging about it 😂
Don’t blame him josemi was absolute garbage
Could Rafa have done the team sheet mistake on purpose? To teach him a lesson from the first time when he went on the ale?
Cheers lads, been looking for something to fall asleep too 👍
Hahaha I put these on when In bed and always have to listen to the ending the next day coz always fall asleep! The Mrs goes mad
Great watch that 👍 💙
This podcast done near a pedestrian crossing or is my car making funny noises
Seems like a decent guy
What’s going on with the fire alarm lads 😂😂
Wish my warehouse boss took us to Croatia for beers shots outdoor nightclub haha
Stephen Warnock congrats you just made the list..
Parky would have been in his element under Big Sam
Twix sandwich bag of pombears 🤣🤣🤣
Best one yet
When Martin O'Neill left Celtic, he had TEN players going out of contract....
Brilliant this
he didn’t say nothing to gary mcallister in portugal
He said he didn’t want to make a scene
@@iani1457 he said he did say something he pulled him to side, trust me didn’t say nothing at all to him
Sorry didn't realise you were there.
@@redmen2008 calm down Gary
Rafa Benitez, no people skills but couple of league titles and other trophies including the CL
Stephen Warnock, average at best left back who strangely enough wasn't wanted by every club he was at and it wasn't his fault.
Might want to buy a mirror lad.
He was wanted at Blackburn and was getting in the England squad’s. No Rovers fan wanted him to go.
To be fair even Gerrard and Carragher said Rafa had no people skills.
@@Chris-oz9qx Yes, but then they suggested Roy Hodgson as his replacement, so perhaps not the brightest
@@christopher429 Is La Liga not a league title now then no?
@@Chris-oz9qxthe same carragher and Gerrard who kept their gobs shut whilst the Americans were shafting the club. The same Carragher who got himself a new 3 year contract when the club almost went under.
Rafas facts rant makes sense now.
Zero people skills.
Rafa comes across as lacking people skills. Houllier comes across as genuinely nasty and malicious.
Huge difference.
Interesting career Warnock had and his relationships with Rafa and Houiler.
That was embarrassing how Liverpool treated the squad players post Istanbul.. everybody should of got a cut of that money who made an appearance during that run Pongelle Mellor made massive contributions
The Rafa bashing is over the top it not the first time that Rafa asked for something and got something else from the board like when he wanted Barry and ended up with Keane.
Fair play to Josemi if you don't ask you don't get and judging by the atmosphere in the club it everyman for himself
He must have said "like" 10,000 times.
Cheek of Baldy Chris calling Stephen a shithouse for legging it after the night club incident , you wouldn't hang your hat on him covering your back anywhere , never mind outside a night club 😊🙀
Big Sam try and get him on lads.
yes!! this
It'd be sensational that
