My mom called me today, and said for the last several days her arthritis in her knees had really been acting up, she had been in a lot of pain, but her sister mentioned to her to try taking ginger.... and so my mom did (specifically, ginger powder mixed with honey and lemon), and was in shock that she started to feel almost completely better, as the pain in her body has really subsided..... Wow!

Add some black pepper and healthy fat to your turmeric so it's bioavailable otherwise you waste almost all of it. A little pat of grass fed butter or coconut oil in your tea or coffee would work. Or just take the coconut oil separately along with your tea. I've recently started adding more ginger to foods along with turmeric, and even more recently, curry as well. All good complements just make sure the turmeric has black pepper with it to assist.

I have constantly used ginger ( the juice from the juicer)after long and taxing workouts ( Deadlifts and Squats mostly) and noticed a fast recovery and an ability to deal more with the pain ( I mean the good pain from muscle exercise).
I also drink ginger with a cup of milk before bed which helped me overcome the morning stomach upset ( not so upset as sick but that unpleasant sensation in your stomach).
I think everyone should be consuming this root all the time, and it's cheap as well.

This evening I started having a runny nose where it would just dripped on the front of my nose and irritate the mother Pearl out of me I was busy doing stuff and didn't want to keep washing my hands every 5 minutes because I had to blow my gosh bloomin' nose!
Funny, how while going shopping earlier before the sunset, I had decided to buy a small ginger root and peel it right away as soon as I got home. So I chopped it up, put it in a little mini blender, and whipped it up with some water. I tried to find my ice trays to freeze my Ginger water in, but I couldn't find them. However, my silicone gummy bear molds were right there in the kitchen, clean and ready to go. So I put the pulp, chopped bits and pieces, and some of the strained liquid from pouring through a sieve into the little bitty gummy bear molds that hold about 1/4 teaspoon each. I just wanted to make sure it was available in small amounts at a time so that I could add a lot or a little to some hot water as I desired. I'm just not sure how much I need to be effective.

Hi, I'd like to add my experience in support of your recommendation. In my experience, ginger tea is just as effective as, and safer--with respect to potential dangerous side effects--than NSAID's. To make the tea, I slice the fresh root and put it in a pot of water, bring it to a boil, turn the heat off, and steep it for ~15 to 30 min. It's very easy. Depending on how much ginger I use, and how long I steep it, I find a weaker ginger tea is perhaps a little stimulating (I squeeze some lemon in it, too, btw), and a strong ginger tea is very noticeably sedating. Also, one time, I was quite frustrated with persistent carpal tunnel syndrome from kayaking, so I soaked some gauze in a pot of tea (after it had cooled some, of course) and made a ginger compress. It worked liked magic--I had no symptoms/pain the next day.

Dr. Axe, Love the videos! Looking forward to more. Lately ive had bloating come on-easy, also a small lump in throat feeling. Could this be from reflux? I was feeling bloated, and tried the ginger and now i'm no longer bloated! Good stuff.

I often add a knob of ginger to my green juice but i put it in there minimally because I read its not good if you have kidney stones. Is this true Dr. Axe?

Good stuff! Thanks for the info. I just started carrying ginger on my herb site, and have been scouring the net to find any new information that may help me know it better.
I saw your other video on cinnamon, well done.
    Thanks for supporting knowledge!

I was taking ginger root and my eczema (sebbhoreic dermatitis) went away. Then I got sick with a mystery respiratory virus, but I kept taking ginger root. After I got better, my eczema came back even though I still take ginger every day. Maybe I need to increase it?

I agree with everything said here, I juice ginger root and put the juice in my Green tea and Runa mixture! Just a thought, you said you put a piece of ginger root in your smoothie? I found this to be nasty, because of the texture, the ginger left strings in the smoothie! It was like drinking something with hair in it! This is why I started juicing the ginger! You don't get the fiber, but I found it tasted a lot better that way! I have an expensive pro blender, but it left a lot of strings in the smoothie...suggestions to fix this and get the fiber???

Just to be clear, boil the ginger for 30 minutes then let it cool to 160° before adding your green tea. Green tea should NOT be put in boiling water or it will destroy it's nutritional properties.
