Your reviews are so thoughtful and helpful!! I just watched a review for this exact same bike-- it had flashy camera moves, beautiful lighting, a beautiful fancy set, and a young super-fit athletic reviewer mostly just saying how great the bike is. I thought I was ready to buy the bike until I saw your review and realized, it's not a good match for me at all!! Thank you so much for saving me time and money. Thanks Big Mike. My wife is 4’ 11” and I’m 5’ 11” and the bike fits us and our small converted exercise / office. The amazing thing about this recumbent is the fact that the lowest seat position is too short for her whereas most others did not allow her to comfortably reach the pedals! Assembly was pretty straight forward and I hope I don’t regret not getting the extended warranty. Console is better than average for budget recumbents. The JRNY app did not play a part in our purchase decision as it was all about fit, feel, and basic function.

Depends on your price point. For my big butt, I like the 3G Cardio Elite RB at $1799 (I actually own this bike at my home) but if you don't want to spend that much, then I would go with the Sole R92. Both great bikes at their price points.

How heavy is a flywheel on the Schwinn 290

I actually don't know. But.... I promise you the flywheel weight on a recumbent bike does not matter. Flywheel weights mattered about 40 years ago when Tunturi and Schwinn made indoor bikes. The weight of the flywheel is what gave the bike the smooth feel. Today the quality of bearings, 3 piece crank arms, Hutchinson Drive Belts etc... really make it a moot point with flywheels. I know review sites online talk about flywheels still today, but again, that only mattered about 40 years ago, on spin bikes. Recumbent bike have a free wheel motion, not a locked in flywheel. What really matters is the quality of the bearings and the aluminum. Also, a heavier flywheel today will cause more issues with bearings too so most high end spin bike manufactures only use 8lb 0 10lb flywheels.

No. Recumbent bikes are actually one of the lesser service items in the fitness industry. But, if a brand makes a crappy product then it really does not matter what style of equipment it is.
