It’s underrated because cars are a status symbol for a lot of people and the humble little Suzuki doesn’t have a German badge or 350bhp.
looks lovely though and would fit a lovely future classic of the last N/A
And it will drive straight past the broken VW's on the side of the road awaiting expensive repairs too :)
Well said mate, Swift is a pocket rocket.
They drive and handle amazingly well.
The 1.6L NA engine is really fun when you can rev it out to 7k rpm.
It's a modern car without too much fluff that can break and go wrong.
Spare part prices are reasonable too.
@@user-du8cs8sn2v I can confirm as a Ignis sport owner😂 they are bombproof
i Had the 2007 one with 124Hp i had it for 11years, driven like hell every weekend mountain blast and so on... got it on coilovers and it was a super good on corners :) not a single issue only 1 lightbult for rear licence plate failed and that was it :) totaly bulletproof
I have just bought a 2007 model 1 3 two door what a fantastic vehicle never lets me down starts first time even on very cold days plenty of acceleration and cornering just sits there econmical119 000 miles on clock but what a car this is I will never buy an EV they are rubbish
SUZUKI is the last japanese car built to a Japanese formula. Built it simply, built it cheap, make it reliable long lasting cheap to run , enjoyable to drivE AND HONEST.
Thats what happens when a car company keeps itself realistic and knows what it wants to make. Suzuki doesnt have alot of money compared to other Japanese car manufacturers, but that made them creative with the limitations they have. Add to that, they're the only independent "traditional" mass car manufacturer aside of Tesla and some new electric startups, which means there's no partner company they have to answer to like the whole Stellantis family for example. Though in recent years Suzuki has been having some Toyota rebadges to fill up their lineup a bit more (Suzuki Swace and Suzuki Landy for example) as part of a "Toyota-Suzuki Alliance." I really hope Toyota don't try to buy up Suzuki, as much of a good job Toyota does these days I'd like Suzuki to be pure
Had a 2009 model year for about 4 years, drove it like I stole it, never skipped a beat! Such fun cars!
You're video of the black Zc31s is the reason why I bought a zc32s. You had so much fun, which I experience every day that i drive mine
I love my Three door 2012 Swift Sport, a brilliant little car which i bought back in November 2020, it never fails to please and puts a smile on my face every time i drive it, Costs are pretty good too, Suzuki dealerships have serviced it since new and i still have the main Suzuki dealer service and MOT it every year. An economical little Pocket Rocket !!!!
I had the Ignis sport and loved that car! So much fun and was surprisingly quick on a mountain road in the twistes
The ignis sport is the best suzuki ever made
I live in Jamaica and i own a 2013 sports version of the Swift with a CVT transmission (Tip-Tronic) it takes a really souped up car to out run my Swift, they are very underrated
hey i'm interested in getting one of these. can u tell me when u go into manual mode, does it automatically go up in gear when ur rpm is too high?
CVT and TipTronic are totally different transmissions.
@@tonyjesuslover some cvt have tiptronic mode, its still useless because its CVT that create fake shifting simulation
Fantastic little cars..loved my 32s..wish i still had it..
I already got one, otherwise i would have been persuaded now!! Great little car, absolutely love it!
I have a zc32 same colour bola b7 alloys and used to have a remus exhaust system straight pipe it was lovely!
I love your videos. Would love to see you do a video on the Mazda 2 DE Sport. I’ve got on and i honestly believe they are heavily underrated
Very much so I love my Mazda 2
Have mine for 6 months now. The deep exhaust notes from a stock one is quite sensational on the ears. I agree 100% w/ you on everything you said about this car. What exhaust mods does this one have? I'm loving those notes, no pops and bangs, just barks.
He said back box delete with stock tips, pretty loud
bit late but cobra sport have a back box delete exhaust and it sounds really good
Had mine 3 years, bought as my first car absolutely love it great motor. It Was one of the only nippy and good handling cars I could get insured to at the time. Can beat much more powerful cars on B roads/country lanes.
How much insurance did you pay for it
Just bought one there great fun
They love them on the Isle of Wight, seen loads of them over there in the summer.
The IOW is where my 2012 Swift Sport came from, the mileage when I bought it in November 2020 was very low for the year, I have driven everything from Bentleys, jags, Porsches, but my favourite is my Swift Sport, very underrated but I'm glad they are, you have to own one to appreciate what they are all about.
I remember how tiff needle praised it so that's all the approval I need
They are great cars I have the newer 2018 model with the 1.4 t and it’s amazing
I test drove one and it's probably the most fun cars I've driven and I've tried a fair few different cars (currently own Mk7 golf gti). Just waiting for a private seller on auto trader
i ad a 1.3gti the old 1 i loved how it was so underrated
Great little cars. I have a 2006 SSS that I bought in 2020. I can get more for it today than I paid for it then.
Such a masterpiece ❤
Got my 24 model a few months back. For the price I paid, other brands considered "better" only offered me cars with very awkward and uncomfortable interiors, very basic exterior designs and not even half the safety and comfort options the sport did. On top of that I get an extremely fun ride that turns heads everywhere I go and an insanely good service price.
Beyond wanting more people to get Swifts Sports because they are super cool and good for the price, I really wish other brands learned that comfort and good looks shouldn't be locked behind excessive prices.
I have one and I love it taall it's a great car
I bought my triple s few weeks ago and its a very nice car for that price
Tickle the engine to 150bhp (doable without breaking the bank) you have the same power to weight ratio as the FN2 Civic Type R - but with way superior handling. Had my 2016 ZC32 for six years now and still puts a smile on my face. Coming from a Subaru Impreza Spec C Type RA, that's praise indeed!
What would you use specifically to get 150bhp?
@@audiophiliac a good free flowing exhaust and manifold, cold air intake and - importantly - mapping.
only just come across your video..we've got the 1.2 model of this shape brilliant cars its our 3rd swift very reliable and the handling is great i put on better tyres and sticks to the road
yeah its got a small boot the pram is a bit of a cram in! xD even a 24" bar chainsaw just about fits
I've got one of the last mk2's registered. Had it since it was 5 months old. No issues, whatsoever. Stage 1 Remap took bhp up to 150 and it accelerates like a 2-Stroke now! Never timed it but I reckon it's sub 8 seconds now. Think I'll be buried with it.
The ZC32 MK2 did 7.6 ish 0-60 stock. Its well documented. You're likely seeing 7 seconds 0-60 now
@@highmm2696 I'm gonna have to get the stopwatch out now you've said that. Time to roll the dice on my licence!
@@polonium13 Do it. Is a remap to 150hp worth it? Tempting to do it on my mine
@@highmm2696 I think so mate. It brings that surge of power at around 4000 rpm (as standard) in at around 2500 rpm. The power is more immediate up and down the gears at lower revs. At high revs it has that old 2 stroke engine quality in terms of power delivery. Amazingly, it also increases mpg. I think it's related to engines being set up in factory to run at all altitudes, humidities, temp, fuel quality etc. UK is close to sea level, temperate climate and good quality fuel. Engine is then tuned to run as efficiently as possible as the conditions here allow it. I'm no expert, just what I picked up. I'm sure someone will tear me down if I'm wrong. This is the internet after all. 😂
@@polonium13 That sounds like a dream! My biggest gripe with the car is how long it takes to get to 4k where the power really starts.
Where did you get yours done? I've been quoted £400 with a rolling road tune from Avon
Hi 1:38 in, any idea what make the aftermarket front splitter is? Cheers
I want one
I'm interested in getting one but I want to go through my options before buying one, can I still get it factory made?
No, 33s (1.4 turbo) is the one being made now
Would love a Sport 2012 for my first car, but my budget is about £4500 and there isn't anything on the market near me for that 😆
They start around €11000 here in Holland:(
Look for the 2006 model then, just as good and looks a little cleaner. I dont like the huge lights on the '12 model
I have owned a 31S Swift Sport and a 32S Swift Sport, they are not bad cars at all, very good on fuel, reliable and are fun to drive but they are not "Hot-Hatches" and have basically no tuning potential unless you want to spend £4'000 on a supercharger kit or try and cobble together a turbo kit. Ultimately this is why the wider community are not too fussed about them and I know it hurts when people hate your car all because it is slow without considering any of the other factors of ownership but that is the main reason.
I think if Suzuki just turbocharged them from factory and gave them 160hp / 180hp then they would have been far more popular and would have filled a similar role as the Ford Fiesta ST and Vauxhall Corsa VXR.
But personally as the cost of living gets ever more expensive and fuel continues to rise over the coming years we might see more and more people going back to cars like this and they might finally get the recognition they deserve.
Is it a good beginners car? I want to get something sporty but all the mainstream cars are so expensive insurance wise...
It is the perfect beginners car. All the costs to maintain one are pretty low
Theres a reason these are the cars you get given to rent at the nurburgring. They stick to the road like crazy
Link for the front lip?
I will be buying one of these tomorrow. Had asked for one with a manual transmission but they're sold out so am stuck with the cvt.
lol don't do it, why tf would you buy a cvt
@@slonky821 lol am gonna give you a dumb answer . I just can't help it and am very impatient. The dealerships bringing in the cars seem to think manual transmission give the cars a poor resale value so they flood the market with cvts
@@listonabel7629 sorry but that is the stupidest decision ever.
Well we all pay for our mistakes sooner or later.
@@listonabel7629 dont do it !
Is there a lot of difference in the older shape to this the one previous the facelift as im thinking about getting one if anyone can advise me id appreciate it ive got £3k for one
hi can you get pops and bangs on this car
do you have to change exhaust system
can you please let me know thank you
Give up with this pop and bang crap, makes you look a pure bellend, NOONE is impressed with your shotgun noises
Actually you can get around 150bhp with a proper remap and induction kit/panel. I'd recommend Avon ~Tuning. 14bhp and 17nm extra torque. Its not much, but it is when the car only weighs a tonne!
this car goes unbelivably hard with a 4.5k supercharger kit easy 300bhp
Ive owned multiple swifts and you are right they are underrated however they are SLOW and not cheap to mod. I had one exactly the same as the one in this video but swapped it for a Fiesta ST
Just did the opposite! My fiesta st was stolen so bought one of these!
How old is this video if there’s a hosepipe ban
They only lifted the ban 6 days ago in the Isle of Wight.
It would be the perfect toy with a k20/k24 in it
Or b18cr h22a
Simple really, they've all been underpowered compared to the competition.
The ZC32S got a very nice interior and the 33S finally got a turbo though.
The Ignis Sport had recaro seats from factory and was a fun, lightweight high revving car. I had one as my first car and I adored it, but for the money you can buy a lot that's much faster and better equipped, this applies to all the swifts imo.
I’ve got an ignis sport right now… proper fun cars to drive
Amen brother
I wanted one of these but the current prices are a joke.
Bought one for £900
@@ulysses4989 what plate?
Can get 11 plates for 1600
8.5k on Autotrader current for a 15 plate around 50k miles. Rediculos. As much as i would like one i refuse to pay that.
I bought a 2015 Swift Sport R in Brazil after watching your video, even though I'm going to suffer from a lack of mechanical and trim parts.
The car really doesn't have impressive numbers but the set is well balanced and the fuel consumption is very good.
Who underrates them? They’re epic
how much would it be insure one of these at 18?
pointless asking on here when insurance is done on a personal basis... it could be £1500 for a lad down the road and it could be £2800 for you. Better off checking comparison websites mate :)
They don;t send them to independent crash tests like NCAP or IIHS, last time they sent a car for independent crash tests is scored terribly bad. You crash in this and you are dead. A coffin with wheels.
Was toying with one of these, bit got a fiesta st instead
I like this car. Just the interior i don't like very much.
Everyone bought a Cooper instead!
if only it had awd
Ok how do you tell it’s real one , or made up one ,
The 2023 is lighter, more powerful and lighter. It corners like ANYTHING on the market. Polos GTI gets the rope. Until a straight away that is🤕
Throttle response? Jamie, they haven’t had throttles on cars for bloody years mate
What's a throttle body if they don't have a throttle? I know they have a throttle body housing just asking
overrated you see millions of them in UK underrated are cars like abarth alfa skoda maybes mazda 3 mini MG
It's not underrated, it's underpowered. Even with the new turbo Swift Sports, they could've added an extra 10kW 20Nm and it would've been a proper weapon.
I put 99 ron petrol in my mrs. turbo swift sport and its getting 150hp+ the official spec on them is conservative. the 140's are nearer 150 in most cases before 99 ron fuel. I guess in 10 years time they'll still be in spec.
@@David-wf1hr we only get 98 RON here in Australia.
With the amount of money you spend trying to modify one of these you may as well buy a better car.
Not with the zc33s
You just need know where to go. Plenty of mods that cost no more than any other platform.
@@aaronalp2639 Where?
@@LegalizeTheNuclearBomb CTC, Tegiwa and 6two1 for starters, all do a range of parts for them, CTC being the biggest. Then if you want to go more jdm you’ve got a good amount of Japanese and Malaysian sites that sell parts that nowhere in the U.K. stocks. Still very affordable even with import tax.
Panda 100hp, Twingo 133 and Ignis Sport are all better, more fun options
And Mazda 2 sport edition 2013
Not as bulletproof
@@u04pww2 the three I mentioned are all known for being pretty rock solid reliability wise
@@aivarusk218 don't get me wrong, small lightweight cars like these usually don't have much to go wrong but the swift is just better built. I would be tempted to get a Panda but just can't get over how odd it looks, the Twingo is too expensive, flimsy and no 6th gear. The swift is the best all rounder in my opinion.
@@u04pww2 I do agree that the Swift is the best built yeh, Ignis are getting very hard to find, for the price of a decent twingo you would not far off be able to buy a decent clio 172/182/197/200, I currently have a Panda 100hp in my fleet, it’s that much fun I can’t ever see myself selling it
Years ago when this level of car is what I was after I never went after a swift. Pretty slow compared to there opponents, more expensive to mod, and stock always seemed to be driven by women, old people, or men who can suck a banana out of its skin. I've got an m2 now, but even when my mrs needs a new daily I Don't even think of these for some reason.
These are so slow 😭 and my nana owns a swift sport 😂 no word of a lie. Go get a Type R integra or anything but this gutless roller skate
best car for brokies, aka 99% of the people
I’ve watched your channel for years, I think this is the first time I’ve commented, if you want this channel to grow you need to stop filming shit cars 👍
I'd prefer this to all the "stage 2 Golf R" shite that's constantly pushed out by others.
Defo one of those guys who only cares about I got the fastest car bullshit.
Maybe you don’t know about cars , all the racetracks all over the world use Sz32s !
Yeah I’m assuming a non shit car is one where you hold the steering wheel straight and plant your foot in a auto. Well fun and engaging that
Shit car? This is one of the FUNNEST cars out there, guess your a numbers guy who needs the ego boost of having the 'fastest car'.
It's built like shit though 😂
Because it looks crap imo
Could do with a K20 swap.
