Count Dooku is my favourite character of star wars, i love it
Yes!! đđ» Awesome character and Hot Toys did an amazing job with this figure! Thanks for watching đđđ»
Dooku is one of my grails and I have finally just purchased him off ebay.Should be with me in about 14 days from now.
Congrats!! Legendary figure! I think youâll be well pleased when you see the face sculpt up close! đđ» Great time to pick it up too, I imagine the price will go crazy once the other AOTC figures start releasing!
I enjoy the Prequels. I think Phantom Menace is very good. I donât mind the Gungans. I watch it as a self-contained movie, with the knowledge that Jar Jar was intended to be a powerful Force user.
I really like Episode II but sending Anakin away with PadmĂ© seems contrived (but a teenage boyâs dream). I love the Bounty Hunters. Every bit with Clones or Fetts in is great.
And Episode III is my favourite Star Wars movie. Order 66 has more emotional weight than the handling of Obi-wanâs death. More consistent in tone and quality than ROTJ.
Yeah they are all amazing movies. Theyâve aged really well too, RotS is a masterpiece. I love it how they expanded the attack on the Jedi Temple in the earlier episodes of Kenobi and Book of Boba. Brilliant.
I just purchased him for $300 USD, so basically retail when he came out. Absolute amazing head sculpt! Keep up the great work!
Woo nice one Kyle, great find! Glad to hear collectors can still get a good deal on this figure! đđ»đ
Thats a great find at that price. I need to pick this figure up hopefully I can find a great deal like that near me I'm in AUS. Congrats that's awesome!!
Love the prequels grew up with the sequels tho also the intro is really good with the imperial officer person đ gonna be buying my first hot toys figure Iâm deciding between imperial tank and clone wars maul given the fact they arenât to pricy
Thanks man! đ and congrats on taking the plunge! Great choices there as you can get some really good deals on them at the moment. Let me know which you go for! đ
A very good review, TK. You had me smiling and nodding in agreement with everything you said the whole video. Dooku is an incredible figure, imo. As you note, Hot Toys seem to do extra good old people sculpts and this likeness to Christopher Lee is exceptional, right down to the small age spots beside his eyes. So good. As for posing him, I think you did very well weaving the force lightning into his hands. It's rare to see that done any better even on the Emporer. And as you so rightly showed, put a CCFL lightsaber in his hands and you have something next level entirely. Have you seen the channel "Sixth Scale Reviews"? Dan's end of 2021 collection tour has a Dooku pose at 27:10 that is so good I feel I now have to get yoda just so I can pose Dooku in that dynamic stance. ...not that I could possibly afford the after market prices Dooku is going for now. Until I win the lottery I'll just have to have him as a fantasy grail along with Hoth Leia and original Ant-man. Thanks for making this interesting review, it's always a pleasure to see one of your videos post.
Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it!! Just checked that video out, and yeah youâre right that is great! Actually the best setup of Dooku and Yoda Iâve ever seen I think, thanks for sharing! And yeah Iâd absolutely recommend AOTC Yoda if you can pick one upđđ» Thanks again for watching đ
Hot Toys nailed it with the Christopher Lee likeness! It is a great figure! Dookuâs lightsaber hilt is my most favourite. Great video!
Yeah that saber hilt is such an awesome design đ
Outstanding head sculpt of Sir Christopher, I do like the armour figures more .broken death star nicht gut. You got an expensive hobby TK421 lad lol.
Yeah crazy sculpt! The Death Star is slightly annoying, thereâs like half a millimetre of plastic stuck in the hologram projector, proper wedged in too đ đ€Šđ»ââïž Yeah pricey stuff but itâs me only vice đ
This is next on my list
Great figure mate! Definitely worth picking up of you get the chance. Think the price will start to increase on this once the other AOTC figures start getting released. Thanks got watching đđđ»
Great figure, one of my favorites in my collection. The likeness is amazing and while it was expensive, to me it was worth it.
Yeah I paid way above retail a couple of years back but definitely worth it like you say. Cheers for watching đ
Prequels are awesome how can you nit like them. Love the Clone Wars!! I sadly just missed out on Count Douku as he just sold out when I started collecting. But I've been meaning to pick him up definitely!! Congrats on this awesome figure it's brilliant!! Sir Christopher Lee what an icon what's not to love about this icon of cinema!!
Thanks! đ yeah awesome character. And the fact he was an icon of cinema like you say makes the figure all the more special đ Hope you manage to get him at some point đđ»
The prequels have aged well. Lots of great moments but probably my fave is the Darth Maul reveal.
Also who can forget the Vader in black armour, Palpatine laughing, the cinema went nuts.
Dooku is awesome by the way, hey and gotta say I picked up a new Hope Leia after watching your vid some time back, no regrets đ€đŒđŠđș
Those were amazing scenes!! And Duel of the Fates in TPM and Vader attacking the Jedi temple in ROTS - pretty mind blowing stuff đ And congrats on picking up ANH Leia!! Such a great figure, so pleased for you đđđ»
Ofcourse I love the Prequels
Yesss!! đđ»
Fantastic figure, the likeness to Christopher Lee is spot on, I believe that this sculpt is a top five for sure along with the recent Temuera Morrison and Cate Blanchett as Hela. Would loved to have picked this up back in the day but as you say they are quite difficult to source nowadays at a competitive price, love the light sabre from CCFL, I now have one one order with Paul after watching your last video đ he is working on it just now (golden yellow for Rey from the final movie)look forward to it arriving soonđ€thanks for a great video, as always look forward to more content when you get the chance, stay wellđand look out for the next Obi Wan trailer dropping soonđ„
Thatâs really weird cos when I was doing the CCFL saber vid I was trying to visualise how great the green and blue sabers would look in-hand but ALSO Reys golden yellow saber! I loved the colour of that! Youâll have to send me a pic of it when you have it set up! Iâm excited for you mate, I think itâs going to be great đđ»
Yeah eyes peeled for the new Kenobi trailer đđ
one on Facebook at this moment in time at ÂŁ285 in the UK. most on ebay that are in Asia don't sell as they are way to expensive and sit on ebay for months at a time. Great video as always. I have a light up custom Lightsaber for Count Dooko I got with my custom Anakin. video coming out tomorrow.
Ah cool, ÂŁ285 is a pretty good deal! Looking forward to seeing the lightsaber, Iâll keep an eye out for the video! đđ»
Even though I wasn't a fan of the character in the prequels and haven't put him as a priority for my collection, he was an amazing PITA character in Clone Wars and the figure is very well done. One day I may pick him up. If not, I'll continue to appreciate him in yours and other's collection
Yeah I know what you mean if itâs not a character youâre a fan of then heâs probably not a must-have. And then itâs a question of whether itâs worth the crazy prices. Iâm the same with the sequel figures tbh, I think theyâre great but donât quite feel the need to own them at the moment! And I can enjoy them via other peoples videos/collections đ
@@TK421Collectibles I read my post again. I meant to say he WAS a pain (for the republic to deal with) in Clone Wars HAHAHA. Going to edit that now
@@Blitz0065 autocorrect woes, I know the feeling haha đ
@@TK421Collectibles TRUTH!!! đđ
He is a great figure to have. Looking forward to the Jango release so much too.
Yeah think Jango release is imminent too! Cannot wait for that one đ
@@TK421Collectibles I think so too. Just pre ordered Moff Gideon as well today. Fingers crossed they both come out soon.
@@AndreThisIsTheWay Iâd forgotten about Moff Gideon tbh, thanks for the reminder đđđ»
In terms of Star Waes releases, one of the best that Hot Toys have produced . The face sculpt os there with Tarkin and ANH Obi. Hot toys are 2nd to one with older figures, something with the wrinkles and texture . For me ,this is a grail. I would expect a rise in value when Jango releases
100% agree mate, definitely worthy of the Grail tag! And yeah could indeed go up in price still further. Think Jango will be with us very soonâŠ! đ
It's strange, my opinion of the prequels has changed so much, I was in high school when Episode 1 came out and was already a fan of the original trilogy and collected figures from them. I loved phantom menace when it came out, I was not bothered about attack of the clones and didn't really like revenge of the Sith. Now I really like them and I think after watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi show, I think I like them even more. Just wondered if anyone else in my age group 35-45 feels the same?
Well the prequel films were the first Star Wars films Iâd watched in a cinema since Return of the Jedi! So I was all-in, loved every second of them and still love them to this day! I honestly never understood the hate for them tbh. But I think theyâve also aged *really* well, especially post-Clone Wars animated series(âs) and like you say, the Kenobi series. All the extra lore we now have has enhanced them even further I think.
@@TK421Collectibles I think at the time the prequels, specifically 2 and 3 didn't feel like star wars to me because it was all very blue screen and cgi. Whereas the original trilogy was a lot more gritty and in camera but I think with the advent of so many green/ blue screen movies with cgi I'm desensitized to it all now and can look past it and appreciate the prequels for what they are. With the live action series, I said to my wife the other day, I think I'm starting to like them more than the movies now! Which is mad!
@@OdinAnon yeah I know what you mean, some of the interior shots of Theed Palace and the Jedi temple definitely look a bit *too* cgi in these films for example. But I kind of see it as the âart styleâ now I guess đ And yeah the seriesâs are fantastic. I think the episodic format is great because I can basically rotate my way through them over and over again, I just watch a couple of episodes each weekend and have them on rotation. So Iâve run thru Mando, the book of boba, Kenobi and now Andor so many times already đ
@@TK421Collectibles yeah, I also feel like with all the series you're getting an opportunity to flesh out the lore and explore more of the characters that can't really fit into a movie. You also get the opportunity to explore stories and characters you might only see in books, comics and games but not in movies.
@@OdinAnon yeah totally agree! The episodic format can definitely help rounding out a characters back-story or helping to enrich the Star Wars lore in general. I love films though too of course but this new content weâre getting is fantastic!
Is he worth the money? Whaaaaaaat? The real question is, "Why haven't you bought him yet?" đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Haha! indeed! đ
