Not true. There are sections of autobahn without speed limit, but that's about it, majority is limited to 130kmh or even less (by my experience driving from south of Europe to Berlin, for example). And belive me, the more you will pump this videos full speed driving on public roads on line, bigger chance there is they will kill no limit zones, it's been on debate lot of times..

Hhahahhah have you learnt nothing in school? german culture is one of the most important ones worldwide when it comes to classical music, philosophy, psychology, engineering etc etc. look at what germany produces and exports worldwide, look at a history book that doesn't just talk about the nationalsocialism, just look around you. the oldest art ever to be found is german.germany is on 5th place in a worldwide ranking of the countries with the biggest cultural heritage, even though a majority was destroyed in WW2. Especially Berlin is one of the most diverse, multicultural, open and modern cities of this planet. arrogance of the german culture? because of their history most germans would never carry a flag or be patriotic. being german is a privilege to them and not something to be proud of. you seem to have no understanding whatoever of "YOUR" culture

Yup, US/Canada highways are a shitfest... everyone overtakes from the left, right, people in different lanes driving at very different speeds ( being in the center or left lane going 100 kph) it's absolutely mental...
TL;DR: North American highways are shit and dangerous.

Mythbusting: the autobahn in gemany has no general speed limit but the largest intercontinental routes are mostly limited. The reason is the real huge traffic even at night, specially trucks (trucks are limited to 80 kph), to curvy, or even damages of the road. Around the big cities there are a lot of variable speed limits (LED panels over the street), were the speed limit is set because of traffic, weather, crashes, etc. ABT resides (Allgäu) is a little bit in the 'outback' and the autobahns are mostly quite free there even at day, as you can see.

I am from germany. You have to be strong now.....it seems that the legend of german Autobahn will die in the next couple of months. Green "dogooders" have much influence nowadays in germany and just now we have a lot of discussions in politics to limitate the speed to 130km/h. And I think it will come.....I could literally cry! It was the last feeling of freedom in the overregulated germany from today. Politics is driving crazy here the last years and I miss the "old" germany.....it is such a shame. I hate all these green assholes!!!!

Large sections of the autobahn have speed restrictions, but even on the sections that are unlimited, you can still get pulled over and ticketed for bad driving - tailgating, driving dangerously (too much speed in dense traffic), trying to force other cars out of the way (bullying tactics).

I have been driving very fast in German autobahn. But when I was really terrified, it was as a German (amateur race driver) was driving me to a wedding. Top speed was 60 km/h. But you should have seen the road.
Also 40 km/h on a horse through a forest, is also quite impressive.
It is not always about speed.

Habe in Kempten gewohnt und bin immer sabbernd an dem Abt-Zentrum vorbeigefahren :D
Daniel Abt war in meiner Parallelklasse. Schön die Heimat zu sehen, kenne jede Stelle aus diesem Video, sie sind sogar bei meinen Eltern vorbei gefahren.
Abt ist für mich ein richtiges Tuning Unternehmen. Nicht so ne Lifestyle und "Medienfirma" wie JP Performance. Also Leute, spart euch eure "geh zu JP bla bla" Kommentare. Abt hat jahrzehntelange Erfahrung auf dem Gebiet. Und ohne seine Fernsehauftritte und den CZcamskanal hätte JP einfach mal gar nichts. Jeder der da hin geht, geht da hin weil er ihn aus dem Fernsehen oder von CZcams kennt. Kann man ihm ja auch alles nicht vorwerfen, aber ich würd ne Tuningfirma die es erst seit 2012 gibt echt meiden und zu Leuten gehen die sich wirklich auskennen und nicht nur 18 jährigen die Autos tieferlegen, lauter machen und ab und zu mal ne Software aus fremden Hause aufspielen. Is echt net bös gemeint, aber ist halt so..
Autobahn are so fun i'm french it should be like that every where. We had a GPS to go to Hamburg at night with obviously a time to arrive at destination. Every 5 minutes the time was cut by a minute. GREAT FUN
Wie hier die Leute in den Kommentaren teilweise drauf sind. Mein Gott, wenn man auf einem Autobahnabschnitt auf dem kein Tempolimit gilt, mal 300 fährt, ist das im Bereich des legalen und somit für mich okay. Das was sie im Kreisverkehr gemacht haben ist vielleicht nicht ganz in Ordnung aber dass man auf einer Autobahn mal Gas gibt....mein Gott zieht euch den Stock ausm Hintern.
Vor allem auf der A7 ist das kein Problem gewesen.

Sorry, but German Autobahn is not a racetrack. I'm German and yes there are no speed limits at some parts of the Autobahn, but that doesn't mean that you can drive as fast as you want. You still have to make sure that you drive absolutely safe and that you don't annoy or put a risk at other drivers.
Yes, mostly it is not possible to drive so fast, and if you crush at that high tempo you are fully at fault and get punished thereby.
But mostly you have speed limits here.

One of the things Americans and British have to get used to is that Germany, like almost all other countries, does not use US Customary or British Imperial units, but the metric system. In the Netherlands we do have speed limits on the motorways. Depending on condtions 100, 120 or 130 km/h. If you are driving on a motorway with a speed limit of '100' and you do 100 mph you will be in for a nasty surprise. Your licence will be confiscated, because if you go faster than 50 km/h over the limit the judge will decide when you get your licence back, and you will get a fine of several hundred euros.

immer wieder faszinierend wie leute auf unsere autobahn reagieren , das erinnert mich daran als ich einen kumpel aus brasilien zu besuch hatte und mit ihm in meinem s3 auf der autobahn fuhr , er sagte anfangs dinge wie "Oh my god you're driving too fast, we're being tracked, we're being arrested , oh my god this is my first time in germany and i gonna be arrested ..." später wurde es zu einem lange lauten lachen ^^

What a lot of people actually forget is even there is no speed limit on the autobahn, there is a Richtgeschwindigkeit (translation: suggested speed) which is 130km/h (around 80mp/h). If you go a lot faster like around 250km/h, your insurance will probably not cover you up incase of a crash. Another misconception is that you can go as fast as you want EVERYWHERE. You can only go as fast as you want if there are no speed limit signs or if the speed limit is cancelled - the sign for that is the grey circled one with the stripes - the one you americans probably all know about :-)

zum Rennen bitte auf die Rennstrecke , z.B. Nürburgring, keine Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung heißt nicht keine Regeln. Die Autobahn ist ein Verkehrsweg keine Rennstrecke. Immer bedenken da sind auch viele langsamere und nicht so versierte Fahrer unterwegs. Aber in den Händen eines Profis ist das Ausfahren eines Audi bis zum verkehrstechnischen Limit schon o.k.

Joachim Marke Vor allem sollte es jedem Autofahrer bewusst sein, dass er jeder Zeit die Kontrolle über sein Auto verlieren könnte und somit potentiell andere in Gefahr bringt. Egal wie viel Erfahrungen man hat.
Kenne auch viele in meinem Alter, also die die den Führerschein noch < 2 Jahren haben, die viel zu schnell fahren oder schlimmer: unter Drogen und Alkoholeinfluss.
Lieber lasse ich mein Auto bis zum nächsten Tag stehen, anstatt nachher wegen einem Bier oder Joint (o.ä.) ein Leben zu zerstören.
Risikobewusstsein ist die letzte Entwicklung, die das Gehirn macht, und das ist meist erst mit 25-26 Jahren abgeschlossen. Deswegen passieren ja auch relativ viele Unfälle bis diesen Alter, weil die Risikobewertung eben noch nicht voll greift.
Joachim Marke Also zum Einen hatte ich zumindest was ich in dem Video gesehen habe den Eindruck, er ist recht defensiv und mit viel Abstand gefahren. Zum Anderen ist dieses Endstück der A7 je nach Tageszeit sehr wenig befahren und eignet sich super dafür der Kiste mal richtig die Sporen zu geben. Da sind auch mal 270 möglich ohne das man jemand begegnet.

Abt is a really,cool Guy and the Company is well known here in Germany. Great Vid. Also great choose of a Car by Abt. Super Understatement but a real Racingcar. .
Fun fact, in Germany it is recommended to drive "AT LEAST 130km/h !" on the Autobahn when it's speedlimitfree, otherwise you will block traffic and endanger other drivers. Really true ! We call it "Recommended speed". So funny, it's like... Rest of the World: Never drive faster than 120km/h - Germany: Never drive slower than 130km/h :)))
Actually in Italy we have at least one police car that is a Lamborghini and I got overtaken by it once... that was cool!

Autostrada da Milano a Bologna, non mi ricordo di preciso dove, era quasi dieci anni fa. Stavo viaggiando tranquillo e sereno quando mi vedo sorpassare sulla corsia di emergenza da questo mostro. E non ero poi cosi veloce però ero sopra i 90, perciò quelli stavano andando piuttosto veloce...
La mia piccola fantasia? Una ventina di minuti prima mi aveva sorpassato un Ferrari, rosso e tutto e sfrecciando sulla destra come se fosse niente. Secondo me qualcuno ha segnalato il Ferrari e la polizia è partita in quarta... solo una fantasia però: è più probabile che i bastardi stavano facendo gli sborroni, esattamente come lo stronzo sul Ferrari. Certa gente ha tutte le fortune...

I have never been on the Autobahn but I know people who have and they are very respectful of each other. Also, if you want to pass a car. You are not allowed to flash your headlights. That is illegal. Instead you use your left blinker to show the car ahead. You intend to pass. Very civilized.
