@instagram shoes seller bro wo exclusivity wala market thoda alag hai, ye Converse ka all star sala pure dunya mai available hai, aur india mai bhi common tha years back ab ye basic bhi exclusive ban gaya hai.
This is a trend with all shoe companies. Adidas, converse and everybody is riding on this jacked up gravy train. There's huge marketing through influencers and youtubers and people are still buying these shoes. (Nike is the only company, who's prices have been stable since the last 5 years. They were premium, and now are behind Adidas in terms of prices, crazy right)
For e.g. Superstars were anyway premium in 2018-19. Could be bought for Rs 3500. Then after 1 year prices went to 6000, then to 9000. Now those same basic superstars are for Rs 16000 at end of 2022. That is insane. Marketing is really really strong these days and new prices have become the norm. People are still buying these at the increased prices. Adidas shoes atleast are well made, all leather and all. But there are manufacturer that are selling foam shoes, or canvas shoes for 8k -10k. That's ridiculous.
Solution is, to buy shoes that have good 'material' to begin with, are solid and will last atleast 6-7 years (mine did). Look at local shoemakers who make awesome leather sneakers and don't go too much on brand value. That's the only way to stop this 'disposable' shoe trend.

I got a blue pair at that time,the colour went off,but that faded shoe looks more fashionable than new one.
I bought a Chuck 70 Low Top from my local imported store. Made in Vietnam. I was amazed at the quality and the insole can be removed. After removing the insole the interior base can be seen printed Converse. I was lucky to get 1 pair of shoes and that was the only piece they imported. Thanks for your valuable information.

It was always 1k - Rs 1200. For a canvas shoe, that's enough with a brand value. Anything more than that is just romanticising and plain vanity.
