Ali is wrong on what the laws of land warfare are. Firing artillery from a residential area is in fact a war crime. Neutralizing that artillery is not, even if that may cause civilian casualties. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to minimize civilian casualties, but the war crime is hiding amongst civilians and preventing them from moving out of harm's way.

The interviewer should read again the Geneva convention. According to Geneva convention I, article 21 if hospitals/schools/ambulances/etc are being used for military purposes, attacking those places is a lawful act of war. Therefore, if Hamas using those places for military purposes, Israel doesn’t commit a crime attacking those places

Velshi has made some claims that are untrue. Israel does not use cluster munitions on civilians period. Implying that Israel exacts revenge against Palestinians and targets civilians. It does not. Velshi also completely trusts, without any verification, the numbers published by Hamas on their own dead. He does not acknowledge that the counts include Hamas terrorists and that the number of children include 16 and 17 y/o who are in active Hamas "duty". He also does not acknowledge that part of the dead are due to failed Hamas rockets. Of course international view of Israel is biased and not a sign that Israel is immoral. According to Geneva convention I, article 21 if hospitals/schools/ambulances/etc are being used for military purposes, attacking those places is a lawful act of war.
