I actually am thinking about doing some character work. Creating a "Doctor Diggs" character. Similar to "Officer Diggs" if you remember.

By the end of Junon I started to feel the burn out of the world data. I was quickly getting tired of of towers, springs, special fights, moogles... Hell, even Queens blood got to be too much.
OG FF7 had plenty of mini games in it, but they were very easy, few, and far between. Just small mini games spread throughout the game to occupy 15 or so minutes. Somewhere into Remake development someone got the idea that fans wanted more mini games and the base challenge to be greater. This person should be flogged.
By the time I finished the Gongaga storyline I had completely swore off doing the world data for Chadley and stuck purely to the main story line even skipping the side quests. Suddenly I was having fun again. (Yes I know I missed good stuff, but if it were important the devs should have done a better job at keeping my attention.)
Rebirth has a serious pacing issue due to its side content. With Remake's linearity you were constantly drip fed secondary and primary plot development, even during side questing in Sector 7 and 5, which was excellent. In Rebirth you can easily go 10hrs of game play without a single bit of primary or secondary plot development. 10 hours of the same party banter. Hearing Aerith yell "I'm coming" was funny the first couple times, but after hearing it back to back for 10 hours I want to mute the game.
TLDR; I really liked the story, hated being story-blocked by busy work.
I'm pretty much at the point where I am going to switch the game on easy and just bust out the MSQ
@@DoctorDiggs If you are invested in the secondary plot (romance) then engage with the actual side quests and just avoid all the other secondary activities.
Hmmmm you had skip animations on for the summons oof lol. Hopefully you make some more videos and there is the 10 pull from 300 paid if you want that too. You could potentially get any of the Ashen units from the banners as well.
Oh I will be getting Ashen Units.
From my experience so far. At Chapter 9. I know the OG has mini games but gods damnit. Why? I could go through a chapter part in 1 hr and instead "Forced" into a Mini game mode for 3-4 hours. Feels too much padding from all these mini games. Don't get me wrong. They aren't hard (well some gave me a issue). They are fun. I had to tone down my gameplay mode to story focus to just get through the game bit faster. I know some I could skip to proceed but some point I feel like I might miss out some character banter, some story impact, or even worse. A Item might be useful to have/use.I enjoy the game n all but shesh. i'm expecting I get to the city of the ancients part and Gonna see Sephy but gonna have to do a Stare down Mini game or something lol. (just basing off the trailer seeing at the CoA's as a Parody of a "Showdown"). Atm if was gonna score atm for this game at my standing. 7/10 atm.

These remake games do combat so well but everything else is so shaky. I feel like I’m always going, “Okay, can I fight something now?”
YES. or like "Let me fight something" inbound gimmick fight that ignores combat system completely.
Play Honkai Star Rail. Super chill and I’m in and out with the dailies in 3 minutes. When I do the story or new event stuff, I do it in hour chunks. I’m usually done in 4 hours with the new story stuff. Story is pretty decent and the new character Aventurine is pretty zesty. Love him lol.
But Honkai would mean.... more waifu than husbando ;;
@@DoctorDiggs Alas, most gacha are waifu outnumbering husbandos. I wish it was different. I would love more huskier bara type of characters in gacha too than the skinniest males only tropes we see. Boothill (Bootyhill) is going to get released soon and he looks super fun . He uses guns and his animation looks crazy!

I definitely agree with you on Rebirth. I got it day 1 and am only on Chapter 4 because the overwhelming amount of sidequests and minigames have really made me not enjoy it much. They feel like dumb filler for the most part (especially all the Chadley crap). After coming off 700+ hours and several playthroughs on Baldur's Gate 3 where the side content felt impactful and added more to the story, it just has not captured my interest at all. Like you mentioned, I basically have to force myself to play it.
I think I would have been fine if they had just kept it to Queens Blood and Fort Condor and left out most of the other crap.
Agreed! I even found myself hating on Fort Condor because it seemed like the difficulty had been turned up to 11 and only certain strategies were effective. Made it feel gimmickier to me e__e
My Ps5 crashed during the same cutscene over and over when you first get your chucobo and never went back to it

Agree. Even FF16's side-stories were at least interesting. I don't see why they couldn't at least get the same treatment.
