@@AMKVII The chicken quest has to be one of the most annoying escort quests I've ever done. The NPC asks you to find 3 chickens.. I nearly died when when you head to the 3rd location and your characters run half way across the map then also relieved it ended in a fight. There was no way I was going to reel that that bird across the zone like that. (Also hated Red XIII commenting every time I failed to keep the bird's attention.)
It felt just after all that chicken made me endure
I remember finishing Party Animal sidequest and being relieved... only for Sephiroth brawler to come in and say, "Shall I give you despair?"
I raged for days because of party animal.. it was a nightmare.... but once I was able to FINALLY do it when Sephiroth came he didn't even touch me 😅😅 finished him first try, was very easy..
I did the pause method. Keep pausing to read what the guy is gonna do. I hate mini games but party animal was a bit easier than tier 3 of most mini games.

I got nearly everything in party animal done until encountering the g-bike bug, then i uninstalled the game, reinstalled without the update, and had to do it all over again from the autosave at the beginning.... only to give up on the sephiroth brawler. i'm sure i could've gotten it with more time, but i was just fed up at that point.

Oh man, that piano challenge is some top tier BS. 4 songs were easy, 1 took a second (maybe 3rd) try, and the last 1 took too goddamn long!

@@Stanlyy. I saw comments saying that some struggled with Fort Condor and Queens Blood while I as a tabletop-person breezed through that. But rhythm games with an analogue stick and paralel button input demands are a weakness of mine💀
I swear am I the only one that loves the Piano game? Let The Battles Begin and One Winged Angel each took me a little less than half an hour to perfect. Every other song took me 5 or less tries to perfect.
I love how everyone that actually did the Ultimate Party Animal questline ended up pretty much learning about pause buffering during the Brawler BS. 😭😭🤣

UPA G-Bike Glitch + Digital Version = Swearing Donald
The latest patch fixed it, but I am currently leveling up my party and Materia. Also, Shiva already left mental scars, and she only had TWO attacks that looked alike. Middle Manager and Sephy are going to break me, aren't they.
Even with that bullshit still took me an hour to beat Sephiroth. It’s their damn hand movements, they all looks identical with slight alterations!
Yeah the uppercut is easy to spot but the other two have a difference of like a few inches that they pull their hands back

The Chocobo Glide was far and beyond the worst of the minigames. You straight up have to use a cheese method to not have to be literal PIXEL PERFECT.

After 106 hours I beat FF7 Rebirth today. Glad I am NOT doing the platinum.
I am at 180 hours and almost have platinum trophy.
Unlike everyone else I wasn't going for the plat. But I sure as hell did everything to perfection. So hearing people mad due to the plat I'm like....the shit being hard is the real problem
this game seems like such a drag compared to remake part 1. Just the ubisoft open world stuff already ruined this for me, i am not excited to play this, unlike in part 1.
@megakoni1 yeah, the game is draining for sure. I finished the can't stop won't stop sidequest but am dreading doing it on hard mode to get the manuscript. I will probably be way over 200 hours by the time I platinum this game. It is ridiculous and no exploration really just destroys the fun of the game. Like they did not need to add the brutal and legendary combat either. It's getting very ridiculous.
186 hours and got platinum today
As soon as I got the last Johnny trophy and unlocked the platinum, I turned the game off. Literally 205 hours and about 100 of it was suffering. 10/10 game would not recommend anyone goes for the plat.
I just wish I didn't even try. I gave up. The chadley trophy is the last I need and I just fucking gave up because it's so incredibly unreasonable

Too heavy focus on minigames, sidecontent and compulsory filler content (box throwing, walking simulators, and having to switch materias 1-by-1 because awful characters like Cait Sith want to fight etc) made me give this game a lower score. The ending could've been my saving grace but even that was a letdown. 7/10.

Yup, my suggestion for everyone is play the story, play all the sidequests, complete all the open world activities, go for minigames as long as you're having fun, and then forget about legendary VRs and Hard Mode, I quit the game yesterday, literally only one thing missing, Zack's VR mission, but it's just too much, If i were on PC I would probably find some way to save in-between rounds via cheats or something, because it's just straight up torture

Yeah, same. Most of these suck ass and are totally not needed. Card game, chocobo racing, Red XIII football and piano were the ones I loved. The whole god damn corel cactuar one can go f**k itself with gym, pirate ship shooting and 3D brawler. At NG+ I just quit at the cactuar minigame. Aerith one just sucks. It's the only minigame I haven't completed. I love the game but the crap forced minigames ruined my mood many times.
@@lakkuh If you ever do try it again, a piece of advice is to at least be near level 50, and use Transcendence whenever you can against big cactuars, and also, trying to run up to a lot of small cactuar clusters is reccomended and then immediately use sorcerous storm, as it can kill a lot of them quickly.

General consensus is if you are just playing the game and don't care about achievements... you'll have a good time.. Playing the completionist route will lead you to complete every possible nook and cranny of the game... I'm just thankful I don't have to hear the song from Frog Jump EVER again lol

I just regret doing my first play through as if I was going to get the plat on a second play through. I would have still done all of the side quests but I probably wouldn't have bothered with a good chunk of the side content. I really enjoyed this game but would have been perfectly happy cutting 20 hours off my first play through if I had realized I would not ever be going for plat.

I had the same thought about Chadley becoming a super boss at the end of part 3. Probably some Chadley/monster fusion, similar to Almighty Shinra in FFX-2.

The chicken quest is meant to be shit, thats the joke, it sucks which is why when you get to the last one and most players are understandably pissed, the minigame stops after a second of making you think you're gonna have to do it and then you get to kill the annoying chicken for your troubles, top tier side quest for making fun of bad side quests

I don't think they should make a bad side quest on purpose. Because my time was still wasted, and the "joke" was not worth the agony required.

The things that took me way too much time and almost got me to quit were Cait Sith's solo legendary challenge (I hate the Mindflayer's beam attack with all my ass), Rufus on hard mode (there's a certain way to stunlock him that took me waaaay too long to figure out), Zack's challenge (10 fights in a row is way too many; getting to Odin and dying is soul draining), and the last fight on hard mode (not the hardest of all fights, but having to go through unskippable cutscenes any time you die in this marathon is a curse on mankind). Sephiroth himself has a lot of different attacks that take time to figure out before you stop dying to every new thing and his cutscene is loooong.
Oh, and the hard mode cactuar crush courses. I hope whoever designed those stubs his toe right before bed.

My accomplished Zach Duo Fight try took about 55 minutes (without the Aeroga cheese strat). If I remeber right i died fouth or fifth times against Odin in this challenge. Not mentioned that i didn't came every try to Odin.
The Zach duo challenges adds easily 15 hours playtime + 15 hours for every other brutal & legendary challenge together, so 30 hours just for optional fight challenges for the platinum trophy.... i'm not sure if it worth, but it was fun... sometimes
I didn't think anyone understood me until I watched this. This platinum was a real ball buster. When I was watching tutorials on how to do the chocobo glide mini game I found myself thinking "why the hell am I still doing this, this is NOT fun." But I do be gamin though.
Yea I'm a crazy ocd completionist.. & keep thinking.. "why am I doing this if I'm not truly enjoying it??" Yet a few hours later, I'm again considering going for it (still on 1st playthrough).

it may not be fun but for me it was the addiction to the game. i have never put so many hours into a game ever in a week!
i cleared the game on sunday after it came out on wednesday, i spent 12 hours a day and then after sunday i kept on going and going deluding myself into thinking there were weapon fights of some sort.
This platinum trophy hunt was horrendous, I initially thought it wasn't going to be too bad, a similar experience like Remake + a lot of mini games, so I really enjoyed completing all of the mini game challenges (cept for Brawler Sephiroth), only to reach the brutal + legendary challenges and curse the skies for embarking on this journey.
Eventually though, once you beat the VR, Hard Mode is a lot easier, it also makes you appreciate all the mechanics the game forces you to learn.
I feel the only really shitty part of it is the need to redo side quests in hard mode for the platinum.
I LOVED the game, I did everything there was to do on my first run, then did all the hard mode challenges THEN a Hard mode run, but that last run was a story run for the challenge of the story bosses, there was no way I'd replay ALL the sidequests, as fun as they were.
Might have been more motivated if I had waited a month or two between my normal run and my hard run.^^

Doing them in hard mode gives you manuscripts that give you the missing folios points needed to complete said Folios, and there is a Trophy attached to unlockings all weapon skills + all folios.
If you simply play the story in hard mode without doing sidequests, you end up with a few nodes you can't unlock on each characters; which happened to me and made me decide NOT to do the Platinum for this sole reason ^^.
Aside from this trophy, I was only missing the 300% stagger damage, and that one would have been easy with Tifa (unbridled strenght/true strike) and Cait Sith (Moogle Knuckle) against a Summon or a rare/elite monster in hard mode, but seeing the folio requirements made me quit instantly XD
@@cirederfsamot2730 I had that trophy at beggining of hard mode, just reset the skill tree and learn limit level 3 and some of the elemental abilities for each character (sorry 4 bad english 😅)

I decided to give up on the platinum. It made me angry to the point where I started to dislike the game. I loved everything about FF7 Rebirth except the Platinum grind. Screw the hard mode minigames

I'm pretty sure in one timeline Sephiroth was able to cast Meteor and destroy the world, cause cloud and the gang was busy trying to finish the mini games and challenges.
I felt this entire video in my soul. Just got my platinum trophy after 156 hours and the Chocobo flying, Cactuar crush on hard, Legends of the Outer Worlds (2x summons each round, followed by a super boss, then the final boss with a new gimmick is ridiculous), Bonds of Friendship, and the GOD DAMN RED DRAGON on hard mode were the worst parts of my Platinum journey.
The necklace is called Götterdämmerung. This is a German word, ''Götter'' is the plural of ''Gott'' and means gods and ''Dämmerung'' means twillight.
in English you would call it Ragnarok.

In Final Fantasy X the secret boss fight is called ''Richter'', in English it means judge.
Or in the anime ''Frieren'' in which all characters and places have normal German words as names.
The character names are like ''Frieren'' (freezing), ''Stark'' (strong), ''Böse'' (evil), ''Falsch'' (wrong) & ''Lügner'' (liar).
As a German it is very easy to indicate who are the bad guys if you hear the name ''Mr. Evil''.
I recently just beat Rulers of the Outer Worlds after several days of practice grinding. Maxing out vital powerful materia makes a world of difference. You need all the help you can get. Thankfully I find the perfect guide to help me through it that made everything much less frustrating. I realize some of these most difficult challenges varies depending on how well you are equipped with material, and what kind of skill strategy you have for these battles. Furthering your point how it ultimately comes down to what materia you equipped. As for Sephiroth’s Shadowy Chains, I just full heal the party with magnify barrier to help me through that. And it helps like crazy.
I stun lock Sephiroth with constant fireagas with Aerith on arcane ward and Yuffie providing ATB with burmal form + ATB ward
@@Soniman001 That’s exactly what I did actually. If you can keep using firaga at Sephiroth in time, (like you said stun locked) he’ll keep bouncing about giving you enough time to take him out at ease. Lol
I'm legit blown away that you beat the game TWICE (once in hard mode) and did all those extra bits for the Platinum and you did it all in under 150 hours? HOW!? I just beat the game for the first time with around a 95% completion and it took me 130 hours! Just once, in normal! Were you speedrunning the game? I was expecting you to tell us it took you at LEAST 200 hours. HOW!?
You're a better man than me. I tried for the Plat as well. Got to the Chadley combat trials and attempted the solo Cloud fight. 18 minutes in and lost on the final round and I was done. Deleted immediately after. Story mode on hard nearly broke me but that loss was the last straw.
Just did the plat last day, i'm not playing this shit ever again.

Square patched in an easy toggle for Gears and Gambits and Fort Condor a few weeks back. Playing those minigames on hard mode with the toggle on and makes it a ton easier and you still get the rewards for Johnny.
I did that too. There's no reason for anyone to bust their balls playing those minigames on hard mode when the reward is the same.

THANK YOU for acknowledging that Bonds of Friendship is so goddamn hard. I hear everyone talking about Rulers of the Outer Worlds, which I think I beat in 4 attempts with a pretty simple build. Tough but absolutely achievable.
I had to use the same Aeroga build with Cloud, and its still a goddamn nightmare to take down Odin. Dont even know how many attempts I did, I cant remember the last time I spent so much time on a boss.

@@s1ber1anstorm41 it's been a couple weeks since I beat RotOW, but from what I recall I used the basic build I'd been using throughout hard mode. Writing/reading is lengthy here, but execution is simple imo.
Cloud is the ATB man with the Sleek Saber, Yuffie high magic focused, Barret the survivor man. I'll try to remember specifics, but it was just an all-rounder build. It's not as fast as builds I've seen online ("RoTOW in 10 minutes!"), but it has high survivability and lets you actually learn the fights and survive mechanics that would ruin your run compared to these CZcams builds.
So for specifics, as far as I remember:
Cloud had Sleek Saber & First Strike, Skill Master, ATB Assist, ...there might be another? Steadfast block? Can't remember offhand, but ALL purple ATB boosting materia! ATB & phys attack weapon skills. Have Transference Module as the accessory for frequent LBs. Enemy Skill for Plasma Discharge (all that ATB boosting will have this proc'ing constantly) & Sonic Boom. Reraise+magic efficiency for any fights that could go sketchy (usually Odin & Bahamut); if Yuffie or Barret die, consider using Reraise on whoever is left since Cloud does not have a Revive. Cloud's MP should ONLY be used on Reraise, infrequently and only as needed. Try to use Cloud as much as possible, between ATB assist, transference module, and plasma discharge, it's just wildly beneficial for his uptime to be maxed out. Make sure he has armlet/defensive fire&ice materia+elemental, it'll let you slide through phoenix/kujata and make him your main during Sephiroth phase 2. Chakra, Pray, HP Up, Strength Up, and Precision Defense (you WILL need this for Sephiroth phase 1, unless you are just a natural parry god). If that's more materia than you can fit, sacrifice Pray first because Cloud will also have Soothing Wind from Enemy Skill.
I was not super discerning for Barret, the whole idea is that he can be the last one standing to cast Arise or swap to take some heat off Cloud/Yuffie, and to increase stagger meters as much as possible. He should have a maxed HP Up, Vitality Up, Spirit Up, Precision Defense, Steadfast Block, Chakra, Pray, and Revive. He should have room for Cleansing if needed for Gilgamesh's frog, but I personally never found it necessary to use. ATB Boost(? The L1+R1 use yellow materia, idr the name) is also very helpful in a pinch for an emergency Arise or Pray. Use his highest physical attack weapon, and the accessory is up to you, it's not a make it break decision. Unless you are healing/Raising, All ATB should be spent on increasing stagger in all fights: Bonus Round, Turbulent Spirit followed by maxed Focused Shots. I only had 2 leveled elemental materia at the time; if you have 3, you can do fire+elemental (defensive) and get rid of the Spirit Up.
Finally, Yuffie. HP Up, Magic Up, First Strike, Precision Defense, Healing+All, Barrier+All, Revive, (defensive)fire+elemental (at least 2 star/"immunity" level), ATB Boost, Auto Unique Ability, Chakra, possibly haste+magnify but at this point its just personal preference. Yuffie has low health and defense, so the Auto Unique Ability will keep her throwing star spinning and keep her out of melee as much as possible. Her main purpose is to be your clutch healer if an individual Chakra or a Prayer from Barret won't suffice. Magic Barrier will be helpful for Barret during the Kujata/Phoenix fight if he does not have fire+elemental, Barrier will be critical for the Sephiroth fight. Otherwise, Yuffie should be using her elemental abilities to assist with staggering & damaging enemies. First Strike helps with getting a quick elemental affinity, Barrier, or Haste right off the top of the fight. Try to have her "ATB ready" - keep one ATB in the barrel as much as possible for sudden heals or a quick Brumal Form or Blindside when needed. Use her highest magic damage weapon, and I think I gave her the space ranger metal of honor, idr. Again, not make or break.
With all this, you should have a good enough kit to feel your way through most fights. You'll have survivability, which is the one thing most of these guides don't focus on, because they are more focused on a particular build that has to be executed perfectly.
Reraise is your friend if you are struggling with some fights, but the idea is to learn the mechanics so this skill becomes a safeguard for mistakes or for deliberate planning, not something to have active on all 3 characters at all times. I think the only fight I deliberately used this for was for Odin, it was just easier to plan around the Zantetsuken and have Barret & Yuffie Reraise and individually rez Cloud to finish out the fight.
Sephiroth is tough, but manageable. Do your best to perfect block the physical chains, but I didn't even try to block the magic chains. Just have your party topped up before Omnislash, and make sure Yuffie uses a Barrier+All prior to Omnislash. Omnislash isn't that scary when it's dropping your party to half health instead of nuking them completely.
Another note about the chains - he can't catch you in them if you use a limit break or synergy attack. Save LBs and synergies to use as DEFENSIVES during Sephiroth phase 1, particularly for magic chains.
The goal is to be aggressive as possible during this whole fight. Once he gets to phase 2, he stops using chains conpletely and uses strong magic instead, always fire phase first, followed by ice. You NEED to kill him by the time Ice phase ends, because the damage is crazy. Yuffie will be fine from fire elemental, and Cloud will be fine because of fire/ice elemental. Have Yuffie use Magic Barrier for Barret during the fire phase, and Magic Barrier+All for Ice phase. Otherwise, nuke the ever loving crap out of him before he murders you all with lightning.
I consistently was getting to Sephiroth in my first few attempts (and that was with only 1 fire/ice+elemental), but kept dying due to chains and Omnislash once I got to Sephiroth. Blocking the chains is tough, but the first attempt where I committed to using Barrier and LB/synergy defensively, I got to phase 2 and beat him first try. The perfect block route is possible, but it's painful to have to reset because you made one mistake. Have Barrier up ahead of time and save yourself some heartache.
Honestly the worst thing for me was that tifa sit up mini game that was so boring and annoying for no reason I never want to see that ever again, who ever at square thought that that was fun needs to be fired immediately
they key to enjoying that minigame was to make sure she was in her beachwear

Honestly, the glide de chocobo wasn't that bad. At least there's a strategy for it that makes it easier.
But my God, that FUCKING piano mini game with that one song "two legs, nothing to it", that is straight up unreasonable. It seriously makes me question whether or not Square even intended for the platinum trophy to be unlockable.
My problem with the chocobo minigame is that simply allowing you to use the right stick to move the camera would have fixed 90% of it. There's simply no reason why the right stick is the same as the left, it's some of the most baffling design fumbles I've seen in a game. You're forced to do it blind about 50% of the time for no reason.
I have a friend who is a pianist. I had him do it for me, since I couldn't do it. Even he struggled with it on lvl 1 note speed, and could only make the A rank when he took it up to note speed level 2.

200 plus hours and i finally got the Plat. Things of note I hate. Chadley, cait sith, gears and gambits hard mode, fort condor hard mode, chocobo flying and racing, sephiroth 3d brawler, tifa crunch challenge, ultimate party animal, shooting minigames, swan song, Queens blood fighting the blood queen, kid G hard mode challenges mostly with aerith, coliseum bouts on hard(I found out later you can do the coliseum on easy mode and it still counts and get the rewards.), piano challenges and legendary and brutal vr challenges. (Looking at you Bonds of friendship and rulers of the outer world). I probably missed a few more, but im finally done.

Got my Platinum today with a total play time of 205 hours. Most agonizing parts for me were Bonds of Friendship and Rufus on hard mode. And I was using video guides!
So yeah, definitely avoid Platinum unless you're really dedicated to getting it.

I went in with the intention to platinum the game but after those mini games and johnny challenges "Nah I'm good on this one"
They was a recent update that fixed the Ultimate Party Animal sidequest glitch, so people have to start the quest over, but the G-bike is no longer glitched.
When Remake came out I got the Platinum and thought "yes, I will do that again for the PC and PS5 versions". Now, I generally preferred Rebirth but after getting the platinum over the weekend I am convinced there is no way in hell I am putting myself through that ordeal again.

I had the same feelings as you after struggling during three days on bond of friendship.... It's so sad learning that some people pay someone to do it... The thrill when Odin or Sephiroth had only few hits to not rush it and continue to play safely... My best experience on doing platinum on a game ! :)

There's a reason why FFXV is the only FF I managed to cet a platinum trophy. I am pretty sure I didn't have to do any kind of sit ups or crunches. They annoy me, I refused to do them.

This video is PERFECT to some up my similar frustrations with the game and needs to be sent to Square Enix lol. My first playthrough I stupidly tried to complete everything and walk into a Platinum that wasn't too bad for Remake or Intergrade for me. About 150 hours in with all the minigames, zones, and side quests 100% done when I got to Side Quest 36 I was BURNT out on the game, said nah to party bro, and just finished the game. Seeing this video and from what I've heard even though I am pretty close to Platinum I do not think I will be going for it and tapping out for now to try later. Love the game but for those who play this game and have the problem of wanting all the items/story during the game is so massive it really needs a PSA to take your time and to come back later to really enjoy this game imo. For Glide de Chocobo, I actually struggled way more with course no. 2... 3 took me about 10 minutes (no u-turn), and 2 took me like 40 minutes.

I love dark souls games. Those challenges are ALL reasonably overcome with knowledge, and feel so good to complete. These in Rebirth make me so angry I was NOT happy even after overcoming some of them; so angry I was upset that someone even considered to make them. Like what type of sadist does this to people, least of all og ff7 enjoyers. The story was great in rebirth - loved that and the humor, but omg screw the difficulty.

2:39 I beat course #3 by using the last vertical fans to make sure I had the correct timing. You can fly out, get a few rings and then come back to get to the right height if you didn't get perfect timing at the beginning of the mini game. There's no timer and you can go backwards to get rings you missed.

Regardless of the overall quality of each mini-game, they’re generally fun at lower difficulties which is the most important thing. But I love that we’ve returned to an era where 100%Ing and FF game is actually really hard, requires skill, and a lot of community sharing. FF rebirth is probably the best FF game ever made

@@davidordaz5251 Chocobo flying wasn't that bad for me actually. My hardest minigames were definitely Cactuar Crush Hard Mode because of Aerith and Crunches. I kid you not I spent 5 real hours doing the crunches cuz I did Rank 1 to Rank 3. Fucking hated that with a motherfucking passion!

I hate that they brought that bullshit Jules minigame back, who asked for that? And they make it harder ON TOP OF IT.
The hardest minigames for are 3D brawler and bird hopping through rings in cosmo canyon. My advice for hard mode is to do all chadley side quests to get the best materias in the game (don't forget to beat gilgamesh). After that, hard mode is walk in the park (mastering enemy attack pattern, parry and perfect block helps immensely).
The chicken side quest is a troll side quest lol I actually loved it cus it was very self aware and the ending was hilarious 😂
I was going for platinum, even struggled through the chocobo gliding and Fort Condor, I'm almost at Chapter 12 and after watching this, im just going to enjoy the ending and not let the terrible mini games ruin a great game for me. Sometimes the platinum just isn't worth souring the experience of what is otherwise a great game.

For Bonds of Friendship, I used maxed out party, weapon and character level, as clouds party level 10 ability is so useful with the Gotterdammerung. I basically based the build off of using the limit skills while absorbing some fire from phoenix and ice from kujata. Igneous Saber, Limit focus weapon abilities, the Gotterdammerung, Cetran bracer. I used elemental lighting and wind on the weapon and elemental fire and ice on the armor. Wasnt too bad. Took like 5 tries. Take advantage of Zacks infinite MP after synergy and raise clouds limit level that's constantly coming back by blocking and using atb (prime mode and atb boost) mixing up with the occasional level 3 spell. Put reraise on Cloud for Bahamut and Odin, with healing and raise and a bunch of purple materia like strength atb assist hp up and mp up and whatnot, and you'll be alright.

I got the platinum for this game the other day with zero cheese strats or guides (minus the gambits hard mode and last survivor challenge of queens and blood in golden saucer) and all i gotta say is this platinum is not for everyone for sure but i do love the challenge when it comes to platinums. Game was incredible from start to finish, cant wait for part 3 i need that game NOW.

Glad you mentioned Yozora. That is still, without a doubt, the hardest boss I've ever played in any game I've ever played. Took me a ridiculous number of tries to beat him. I have played action and JRPG games since I was young and holy shit, nothing compares to the difficulty of that fight. It was obscene. About to start hard mode on FF7 and even though I have not enjoyed the grind whatsoever in this game, I can't help myself and am about to do it anyway. Thanks for the laughs, because only those who have stayed to suffer through the platinum of this game understand. hahaha

Bro God bless the guide I found that showed sephiroth red attacks are a set of 3. Once you know the first move you know the others cause it's always the same 3 he does. Piano was pain...had my sister take left stick while I did the other lol
it took me HOURS to beat the last course of the chocobo flying mini game, only for a patch to come out fixing some of the mini games 😭😭 queens blood made me homicidal at points
I got the platinum and you pretty much nailed the experience perfectly, right down to the minigames that stopped me and how I solved them, to the VR challenges which almost made me give up (I tried not to cheese rulers but couldn't anymore after countless 18 min runs lost to octoslash spam. That doesn't even approach fun)
Also, it's totally shitty but when I heard the game was bugged I definitely thought "oh no now my platinum will remain more exclusive. Darn...😏😂"
By the time I got to gears and gambits, I had all but stopped reading the rules for the mini games. I just youtubed some strategies because I got tired of learning a new set of rules every 8 minutes.

I got the Platinum in Remake, it was one of the most fun and memorable gaming experiences I've ever had. I thought I'd be going for he plat again but now that I've seen everything the game has to offer and know everything that's required, it's an easy decision to put this game away and probably never come back. I mostly enjoyed the mini games, but there were a few that I never want to revisit again, let alone perfect on the hardest difficulty. After spending 120+ hours on a first play through, I've pretty much had enough of this game. It's just too bad this plat is so difficult because I doubt I'll ever come back to get it after some time away from the game.
I probably shouldn't feel this way but the difficulty of this plat has to some extent negatively influenced my overall view of this game. I'm not exactly sure why, as I don't even really care about trophies or achievements, probably more because I feel like I just don't have the same incentive as I usually do to play it again. Remake's plat was so much fun, the perfect amount of challenge and revisiting different parts of the story to unlock different things later. Rebirth's plat is just all way too much and probably it hits a nerve because it triples down on some of the game's few low points, forcing me to grind through stuff that I didn't like at all in the first place.

This could literally be me, how we take so much hours? I don't understand people saying that had the platinum in 130 or so, I imagine them skipping all the cutscenes on the first play trough and just following a guide
215 hours, 5 HM chapters left, legend/brutal challenges, and the UPA manuscript left...
I'm the kind of idiot who tries to perfect every minigame the moment I unlock it. I gotta say, the story is much more enjoyable and flows together better when your not stuck on the same minigame for 2 or 3 days or compactly every world intel in the region before leaving.
Some tips:
1. In 3d brawler each character has a set number of enrage combos where they do the same move in succession. You can memorize these. For example after dodging 7 or 8 normal attacks Sephiroth will do his first enrage combo which is I remember correctly (it's been a few days don't hold me to this) is L straight, right straight, L up, r down. After that he enters phase 2 and will do 1 or 3 different enrages. Also, try not to block as that will end the combo early and you won't be able to attack back. I don't know how you block rather than dodge, but don't do it if you can figure out how.
2. Pause buffer works just about everywhere.
3. In the sit-up minigame at the gym, think about the buttons as being top row -> bottom row. The weird hourglass shape is just to confuse you. Also look at Tifa's animation closely. It'll show you what to do. This one took me 4 straight hours to complete on the hardest difficulty....for a crappy accessory....that Tifa will forever wear no matter what to make myself feel better.
4. In the cactaur/Kid G minigame, spam windstorm for Yuffie and sorcerous storm for Aertih as much as possible. Aerith's attacks won't be magic like normal if when is not standing on a ward. Seriously, I was getting eager to see Aerith's death just doing the normal version of this. I still have to do hard mode.
5. For chocobo racing, Pico (yellow) is great everywhere do to the haste/speed boost ability, however the green/jungle chocobo is great if there is a lot of cactuar gates to jump over (cactuar gates will screw you over more than anything if you hit them.) I didn't find much use for the others.
6. You don't actually, need to do the battle begins or one winged angel on the piano. That ones just a point of pride.....a very...VERY...painful point of pride. I've only done the battle begins and I'm not eager to do one winged angel.
7. You can cheese almost every fight with Yuffie and Aerith, just search for rulers of the outer worlds in on youtube for a guide (I recommend this one czcams.com/video/poNYBocU2d8/video.htmlsi=7xHO-ZlI-xIHFo8G) but basically just spam Yuffie's Brumal Form on Aertith's ATB ward. This charges the others ATB gauges because of the ward while making Yuffie extremely hard to hit. Also, the enemies tend to target whoever your controlling so your free to spam the other's abilities while tanking with a hard to even hit Yuffie.
I almost have this Platinum. I just have to finish up all of Johnny’s challenges (I have 80/88) and hard mode. Really it’s the mini games that really break the game. Most of them are just unfair or not that well thought out.
Honestly this Platinum kind of reminds me of Birth by Sleeps Platinum where it’s just asking way to much to be considered fair. Except instead of having to 100% the game 3 times + critical mode for all campaigns. You have 20+ mini games you have to master and a challenge mode that you MUST master + hard mode.

Doing absolutely everything there is to do in the game is a slog. Really hope they don't feel the need to add hard modes to mini games for part 3. They turn what are fun distractions that don't require too much effort to do well into absolute hell

I recommend looking up Optinoob's guides. I'm not the most-skilled gamer myself anymore (pushing my late 30s), so can't perfect block or dodge, and sometimes, my ATB commands take too long, but Optinoob has perfect Materia setups AND strats, which will get ANYONE through those challenges. Yes, a lot of RNG is still involved, but his guides raise your chances immensely. You can do it.
