Looks good. DIY is always the best way..
You got that right!
Assume job as usual Jason ! FYI I also ran a emergency "on " switch to bypass the thermo switch .
That is a great idea!! Definitely something I'll look at doing!!
Roller bearings will also make the front ride better. Nice progress
Yeah, That's kinda why I'm keeping them... just had to order a new set because I killed one of them removing it... lol
Freaking nice mount!!! I would’ve said the same thing, I can make one!
Yes!! I love making my own mods!! Super satisfying to have an idea and making it work.
I really love these ones im trying get a linces and i want to drive a Volkswagen Beetle like a normal car, Volkswagen Beetle are my dream car.
They are great and an awesome daily unless it's super hot... then its a bit of a sweat box... lol
Hey Jason. Found you via a search for a bit of guidance on an external oil cooler mount. Have since watched several of your other videos and subscribed. Keep up the good work 👍🏻 Ben 🇬🇧
Awesome, thank you!
Great job Jason
Thanks so much brother!! I think this is an awesome place for the cooler!
you are so helpful thankyou for the video!!!!!!!
No problem, glad your enjoying the channel!
Excellent video. Beware of the temp switch on the cooler connection. It is fragile. I broke mine and am looking for a better replacement
Yes that little thing is super fragile!! Good tip! Thanks brother!
JW Classic VW I really love you videos and sense of humor. How do you get the time to answer all
Gotta make the time!! Glad you like the videos !

@@VWRICH23 Very cool man, looks so good!!
Nice work. Looking forward to the finished product. BTW: What kind of mod's did you do to your left thumb? Yikes!
Lol... going work great 👍, my thumb... lol oh you know the normal payment to the VW gods. 👍😎👍
Great video dude! I'm doing something similar and the inspiration comes at the perfect time. Can't wait to see how it fits. I was thinking of putting the fan on the underside. I am still trying to decide on push or pull on the fan direction. What is your input?
Hey there Chris!! How's it going brother? I'm sure it would work either way... honestly just having an external cooler helps so much.
Good good video I liked it a lot, could you tell me how much the radiator measures
No problem man I'll get them for ya!
cool jason. parts can be hard to come by when it comes to WW stuff.
For sure!! Thanks for the comment brother!
Putting the bearing in is much better than that urethane junk, but what about the inner bearing?
In This aftermarket beam there wasn't an inner bearing. I have heard great things about delrin bushings.
The caster adjustment should be the same on a ball joint beam too, right?
Really not sure brother... I would think so but ill look it up before I do the video!
hi were on your fb page is the files that you are talking about for the size if the oil cooler mount
Located in the FB group... depending on if your using PC or Mobile the location may be different. Just Google it brother... pretty easy to find that way.
Is this ment to replace the stock oil cooler ?
No brother... this is a supplemental oil cooler for my big engine. I'm still running the Doghouse cooler as well.
I don't know if I missed it or not. But did you ever say what size tap you use to tap for the sensor?
Not sure brother, that was a little bit ago... I'll go back and see if I have it listed somewhere.
Jason need your help. I currently have a full flow with filter. I want to add an oil cooler setup like this one. Do I need to add a sandwich adapter to my current oil filter adapter in order to run the oil lines to the cooler? Also, do you have a template available for the mount that you made? Thanks - Mike
No you don't need to add any adapter you'll just need to router through the filter then to the cooler and then back to the engine. As for a template for this oil cooler yes it is available through my Facebook group. There is a files section there with it.

Thanks for your help and the file. Great site.
I installed my oil cooler in the same position. My only concern is how to drain the oil from during an oil change. Any tips.
Hmmmmm... good question but honestly the cooler only maintains a small residual amount of oil in the lines. I'm not to concerned on flushing the entire system and leaving the oil in the cooler isn't going to cause any significant issues. With that said if I did want to drain the cooler without removing it i would probably just pull off the lines at the oil filter housing, put one line in the oil catch and charge the other side with compressed air... or use a shop vac reversed to blow air.
My thoughts exactly. I thought you have a magic trick like you always do.
Is really cool, can you share dimensions?
Yes I will, need to correct a few things on what I have as some mods were made to the original design to get it to work.
Jason jw classic's: you might find that you'll have some problems with that bearing insert on your torsion arms..check with the service department first..why..? On Manufacturing: I believe the torsion bar tool was heated to 400 - 700 degrees Fahrenheit & Bearing was inserted with the tool with the proper depth.. and the bearing was chilled at 260 degrees below zero using liquid nitrogen.. once the bearing was installed.. the bearing was firmly place so it wouldn't move.. make sure of this before you start removing any metal from the inside of the tube.. if you don't check on this measurement you may have worried City in the future..Good Luck.. "Critter".
That sounds super interesting... I love knowing how they built this amazing VWs!! Pretty sure what I'm thinking will work, its not a factory beam it is an aftermarket and I can see where it was reamed before. I will probably need to freeze the bearings though.
