The best way to charge and store 1S LiPo batteries

  • Charging 1S lipo batteries is a bit of a pain. When you buy a small drone that uses 1S lipos, you'll normally get a small USB powered charger. You just plug the batteries in and they'll just charge. And they may have multiple slots so you can charge a few at a time.
And if you're just starting out that's fine, but you quickly realise you just can't charge them fast enough to get out flying again. And although this way of charging Lipos does work, you'll probably not realise it's not the best way to charge them.
So I'm gonna show you a very cheap and easy way to charge 1S LiPos using a balance charger like this that will save you a whole load of grief and money in the long run.

Thank you so much for this video. I am new to FPV and this video answers most of my questions I've had about charging the tiny whoop 1s batteries. I see reviews on YT for new chargers new features but when I look at the product it doesn't have a ph2.0 connector on it and figure i can't use it.

Great idea Whirly. This is exactly what I made until I found out about a charge board from Fractal Engineering where you can select how many cells to charge (up to 6) via a jumper on the board. It's has ph2 & bt2 connections on it as well! Awesome piece of kit! He even screen prints your FPV name for you on the back of it! 😎

one of the below comments asked can you storage charge less than (4) 1s lipo's? you said you need 4 to make it work.
