this is super valuable, thank you. the best tpu ive come accross is made by tinmorry. actually every single filament i tried by this rather cheap brand was a blessing so far.
will it accommodate avatar moonlight vtx?
That shouldn't be a problem, but you'll probably need to modify the VTX module mount a bit.
the lite version doesn't come with the plastic parts, but they are available for printing. Also, I paid around $45 for the lite version.
Thanks for info and $45 is a total bargain.

Hi my friend, everything is great, I'm very happy that you're helping me calibrate the DJI o3 Air unit, I'm here watching your videos, which is very important to me, big hugs, friend
Glad to help
Screw AKK. They took my money and gave me the cold shoulder when trying to ask for my product or a refund after 4 months of silence. I don't want that to happen to anyone else so I guess this is my solution.. talking trash on the internet lol.
I appreciate the content your creating. I wished i copied what I've been writing in the comments lol. I've been dealing with this stack for some time. Here's my issue and maybe since you've made this video, you've learned something about it that I dont know. I've had 2 full fire blow outs, and 3 esc issues. (Just in the last few months) I'll not go back any further as some of the issue may have been my fault, who knows it was a while ago. So I've purcased multiple stacks, the ones I'm having issues with ALL came from Amazon. It's May 2024 in Canada and I'm very positive that speedybee is selling failed v3's on Amazon. I say this cause they aren't selling v4's, and every single one I've got, and returned because of these issues ...... is clearly an issue. I've got 3 5" drones. #1 i have a speedybee master 5hd with a v3 stack in it, but i got it from a retailer of drone parts here in Canada. It still flies and works perfectly. #2 green drone we will call it. Ive had 2 full blow outs. And 2 failed esc's, it just comes up as "missing esc" I see in your video your being provided with a 1500 capacitor.... the ones I'm getting are 1000. Ive replaced every part on this drone except motors..... so i was convinced after blow up (last one was a blow up) HAD to be the motors. Please note these are SUPER clean builds and looked over by pro builders/pilots. THEN my brand new Mario 5 build i went to fly, BOOM missing esc!!! Neither drone has been crashed or flown hard hard. So same issue 2 different drones, all different parts. So my motor theory is gone out the window (also after stripping it, motors where tested and passed with flying colors) The common factors, same stack coming from Amazon store. Also all stacks flashed to bluejay. Even my still working after 7 months drone is fllashed bluejay. I've read in comments that flashing bluejay on these is bad, do you know anything about this? Is this my issue? I go with bluejay for bidirectional dshot ya know? Is there a known issue with bluejay and these esc's I'm not aware of? Speedybee wants me to send back these on my dime and wait over a month to tell me its defective after clearly we know its defective. I've sent video and pics. Anything maybe you've learned since making this video you can please assist me with? Appreciate you very much!
Exactly what I am looking for! In the original video, you've mention to rename the latest version of Assistant 2. Where would I rename it and will it still work for other updates? Asking for a friend! 🙂
Sadly DJI closed this loophole and it's not possible on newer versions of the app and firmware. Shame cos ATTI mode is a good safety feature and this is now only available on DJI Enterprise drones.
@WhirlyBloke Thank you! I downloaded the old app from you. I might just try it! Some people mentioned this website that helps to adjust software... Will take a look there too.
@@WhirlyBloke Someone commented on a 4 year old video that it still worked in May 2024, but he is on a Mac.. So, I just tried it, following your instructions. I could edit the *main.js* file, but couldn't save it, since I need admin permission. Tried to open the file as admin, but couldn't find how to do it. When I open the v1.1.2 version and connect my M2P, I can't get into the Inspect mode (Windows 10: Ctrl-Shift-I) Any advise?
Where did you find the VTX table for this? I'd hate to have to manually enter it.
I have this FC, once updated from BF 4.3 to 4.5 (m10 gps), the booting sequence is fine (motor vibration) but I can’t test motor direction. Maybe BF 4.5 is not supported?
It may be an issue with the BF target for that FC, but usually anything Matek is good. Let me know when you find out.
thanks man
It will be really interesting to see how you wire everything up for the 8 motor, 2x ESC cinelifter. The last 6 motor build I did had 6 individual ESCs on an APM 2.5!!!!
2:45 I'm nearly positive, you can NOT change the LED patterns from Betaflight. The UART allows Betaflight settings to be changed by the Speedybee App. The Meteor acts as an external Bluetooth transceiver for flight controllers which don't have built in Bluetooth transceivers. There are multiple reasons why Betaflight can't control the LEDs. There are 126 LEDs in the Meteor set. Betaflight can control up to 64 LEDs. The Meteor LEDs are also the wrong protocol for Betaflight. Betaflight expects WS2812B controllers on the LEDs. The Meteor uses LEDs with LPD1886 (24-bit) controllers. I hooked up my Meteor to a logic analyzer to capture the bits controlling the LEDs (I kept trying various LED protocols until one worked). I was disappointed to learn these LEDs can't be controlled from Betaflight. The LPD1886 is a pretty simple protocol so I plan to add a microcontroller to my Bee35 and control the LEDs using the microcontroller. As I said, the LED protocol is pretty simple (I'm pretty good a bit banging data protocols) but I need to get my head around the Crossfire protocol so the microcontroller can eavesdrop on my ELRS receiver. I'm hoping to control LED patterns by sharing the ELRS receiver between the flight controller and my microcontroller which controls the LEDs. Even without being able to change the LEDs from Betaflight, these LEDs are a lot of fun.
do you need it.. depends on the amount of jamming happening where your flying
Does this controller have ESC’s in/on the board or will I have to have an ESC for each motor? Thanks!
The board labelled 60A is a 4 in 1 ESC.
@@WhirlyBloke Thanks. After “reading the instructions” I’ve come to that conclusion. For me, this is shockingly good news. I still have an old DJI F450 (had to have four ESC’s on it.) I’m planning to resurrect for LOS flying around the back yard. Thanks for your help.
I flashed my TX12MKII with EdgeTX buddy but the hardware page in my radio under options show luac, but no lua do you know how to get the lua build option too? because I want to install Yaapu Frsky Telemetry script and it's wiki says I need both lua and luac
To get Lua and Luac scripts, you need to check the firmware build options you selected during the EdgeTX flashing process. Make sure to select a build that includes both Lua and Luac scripts support. You may need to reflash your firmware with the correct options. This should allow you to use the Yaapu FrSky Telemetry script. Let me know how you get on.
Great vid! My mob8 03 air isnt being good. When i arm and take it up a little then move the right stick...it just flips over (like its in acro mode). I want to tame it right down, just to fly round the house... but not sure how to tweak settings, as theres nowhere mentioning acro mode disable anywhere in betaflight of in the cli. How can i dial it right down from a crazy whoop to a nice tame slow one please?
It's one of these. - Props on the wrong way around - Motor direction is wrong - Motor order is wrong - Gyro orientation is wrong Let me know how you get on.

Thanks! I just updated my charger, and now it's bricked 🙁 Do you know by any chance how to recover it? I formatted it already, but that didn't help🤷🏻
That's really annoying and I've not seen it before. Maybe contact ToolkitRC support. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks! I actually found an even newer firmware (v. 1.23), using this one it seems to work fine again. I made sure to use the included batch file, then "safely removed" the USB device, and finally pulled the USB cable very slowly💁🏽♀

Thanks for another great review Whirly Bloke. I would have no reservations buying this stack. I run a SpeedyBee F405 v4 and 55A esc in my 7" diy and it's been flawless. I've had great luck with SpeedyBee products so far. Thank you for creating content that I find interesting, informative, and entertaining. Happy flying amigo 🫡 🍻.
Thanks for the awesome feedback. This is why I do these videos so people benefit. Otherwise, there's no point.
You do a great job Whirly Bloke. I for one REALLY appreciate your efforts. Always so clear, concise, and professional. You really know your stuff. I always learn something valuable increasing my own enjoyment of the RC hobby. Cheers amigo 🍻.
Anything over 5 inches is just too big and too heavy. This is coming from an engineer and the radio control industry for cars, boats, quad, copters, anything for the last 40 years. Lighter is always better.go with the 5 inch quad copter and skip the big heavy one.
Maybe for hobby flying give the current regs, but when you're flying commercially and the client wants FPV footage using a Red Komodo, a 5 inch or smaller drone isn't gonna cut it. As always, everything has its place and application. Thanks for the feedback.
ITS beautiful , now I will build a cinelifter...the time has come....thanks Whirly Bloke SpeedyBee...is Quality
They are scary and rewarding all at the same time. This is my stock choice for larger drone now especially since they fixed the DMA burst and INAV properly supports 8 motors.
Wouldn't it be beter to change it using rxrange in the cli , I know a lot of fpv pilots like to have multiple kwads on a single model.
How does ist behave downhill, does it brake via the engine that it doesn't hit you in the feet?
Yep, it's got regen braking.
At this point, slap a arduino, servo, rx5808 module with rssi out, and a directional antenna onto this and you just build a radar.
I know. There's lots of nefarious things you could do with this.
Any mod to use the z-axis thing with just a phone or osmo mobile gimbale ?
Nice, a VTX that draws half the power as the craft it´s in! 👍 I am always getting annoyed if my flight time is too long.
Yep, it's bizzare isn't it?
Cant wait for 40watts 🤣 🤣 🤣
Why not just fly a 1.3ghz vtx?
5.8ghz clearer video? 5.8ghz directional antennas smaller?
@@GregQuillen Smaller yes, not larger than your typical 915mhz antenna though. Picture quality is the same, downside being much few channels.
@@ImperialArmour I wanted to do 1.3ghz for penetration and peace of mind long range. Just never did it. Antennas seemed big for anything but omni
@@GregQuillen a monopole or dipole can be used for the vtx, it takes up the same space as your control link.
@ImperialArmour I seen someone do that on drone. I guess at 1.3ghz technically you don't need gain (directional antennas) cause on paper the range is ridiculous. Not to mention think it's geprc that has a 2w 1.3ghz
can you switch power from the remote?!? so i would then fly with 500mw or 1w... and only swifch to full power when needed
Yep, you just use smart audio.
Yea I had bunch drones analog power on rotary dial. Though some reason when I put 4.5 on it stopped working. Never tried to figure out why
looks like a beast of a vtx, i would buy one for my 7 inch lr but i had terrible experience with that 3w ultimate vtx from akk. that thing sucked.. terrible noise and less range than some lower powered vtx's
I haven't tried the lower powered ones, but as you get > 1W video power, then any interference is probably amplified as well. More power isn't necessarily a better thing. High gain and directional receiver antennas are more effective. Thanks for the feedback.
@@WhirlyBloke noo thank you! thanks to your reviews we get to see these interesting new products in action. are the lower powered vtxs the same size as this beast?
@@heinzfpv4787 Bizzarly, yes.
oF is this some foreign language 😂
Another terrific video, so well done. Get it? Well done, nyuk nyuk nyuk
Thanks again!
Was going to put this on a 10" but ended up not doing it.
More power doesn't necessarily mean better. So maybe you made the best choice.
10w?! Does the antenna glow?!
not if it is well tuned ...
@@dg9bfc It’s why I use a tuning fork for all my antennas
a tuning "fork" ?!? What's that??
Fry your breakfast on that lol, nah not too bad although I would be tempted to take it apart and put some arctic silver on it see how much difference it makes, good video.
Yep, it's hot. There were so many questions, I just had to publish this one.
Yea I always feel like they don't put good thermal compound. I changed out thermal compound on my old r9 slim pro.

If the battery is OK with a cell checker, then you may have a dodgy balance lead connector.

VTX power wouldn't give you possibility to fly under the radio horizon, but just for the longer distances
I have not found myself aiming for long distance, but I enjoy making videos with nature, sunsets & sunrises, geologic features… It can make for a nice shot sometimes, to fly over a patch of dense canopy and drop in where the camera follows a slow river for a few seconds, and orientating myself to face the direction of the main focal point of the video, such a beautiful low-horizon deep color sunset, that cannot be seen, until I raise altitude, and slowly bring the beauty into focus as the thick canopy falls beneath the camera.
Thanks for this amazing video! Just ordered the Bee35 and will do a self build 🙂 already have a speedybee drone and controller plus goggles so just adding to the collection
You'll love it and it's super strong.
@@WhirlyBloke It's coming tomorrow, i can't wait 🙂
Fantastic. Personally I’d preferred to have the ‘power and connections ‘ in the space above the ATEM mini. That way the case will remain intact and waterproof.
I know what you mean. I have done some custom builds cos that's what was wanted and they've all said the same thing. All those connectors and cables in front of the ATEM and monitor are a cluttered mess and in the way. It's so much tidier when they're at the back. Thanks for the feedback. Or just put a Streamdeck there czcams.com/video/fIrcLFD4I0M/video.html

Yep, it's powerful but not realistically usful for everything. There's downsides..... Thanks for watching.
@@WhirlyBloke i might get one just because its a cool novelty ,its just such a massively overpowered vtx. I really have no use for it but i want one anyways.
