as someone who is not from netherlands and has never visited netherlands or studied their society i would like to speculate.
i would venture guess that from a very young age they teach everyone the importance of being a good citizend and to consider how your actions affect society. or what in usa they would just label "communism" or some other ridiculous label.
i would also guess that everyone there has access to high quality education regardless of their parents income, so even the poorest students can develop their talents and become productive members of society.
that would also result in a lower degree of wealth inequality, which also reduces crime. because most violent crime is committed by people living in desperate circumstances. desperate people make bad, often violent, choices.
but that's just me speculating. i've never been there.

I thought it was adorable when the little girl got her glasses. My daughter was four when she got her first pair. She could see reasonably well, but she had a lazy eye and couldn't outgrow it on her own. She was pretty coordinated for a kid who saw two of everything! Years of wearing thick bifocals and by the time she was in her teens she went to contacts. Now as a grown woman, she doesn't rely on them that much at all. That's right, I'm an old dude watching your videos! Henry's fault, with his slooty skyrim mods. But once I discovered the Henry and Jeannie videos, I couldn't stop. I can't sleep unless I've seen at least one. Sometimes I just let them continue playing as I fall asleep. Sometimes I dream I'm like a cartoon rodent or something. Why am I digging this tunnel? Oh, that's right, the hyenas! lol

4:00 You can do this too, you just need a clear shape (cube is probably easiest but domes are also fairly common) and a support structure. put it in a body of water and vacuum out the air. It takes the fish (or anything else in the water) no more effort to enter the structure than anywhere else in the water. If they stay it's because they enjoy the view and/or are mind blown.

@@JenniferBuechner We can't let those keyboards keep getting away with it.
The doorstopper in the tree is just to keep the saw from being stuck. There's a large wedge cut out of the opposite side of the tree that mostlydeteemines where it'll fall. The back cut affects it some, but not nearly as much.
Wish our woodcutters would know such basic knowledge... I've cut several trees, but one I didn't thrust (possible barberchair), guess what happened ...
You leave “holding wood” to help direct the angle you want the tree to fall.
I don't know anything about logging but I thought the yellow rope pulled taut was why it fell where it did.
The wedges are also used to topple the tree. That's why after he hit it with a hammer the tree slowly fell over. And maybe that rope...
All of the above. Rope tension, wedge cut shape and placement, back cut... all of it works together. Go check out some tree drops where the feller gets it to spin and drop 90 degrees away from the direction of lean. That will really blow your mind.

Jeannie, snow doesn't always mean "cold" feeling... When I lived in Denver, even though there was 6 inches of snow on the ground, it wasn't really cold. As long as I stayed on the shoveled sidewalks I could walk around in sandals (which I and many others often did). It's the wind that makes things uncomfortable, that's why living in like Chicago sucks, because of the "wind chill"
Agreed, Chicago winter sucks. There are certain streets that act as wind tunnels and you can’t even walk down them. Number times I got laid out because I didn’t know the next block was a hurricane.
Bruh, just because you are adpated to the cold (Michigander who can go out in freezing weather in shorts and t-shirt here) doesn't mean it isn't cold 😛
Can confirm. Grew up in the desert and moved to Texas, so I'm used to heat. Went to New York last winter and I was able to stand around outside in a t-shirt and jeans, for a good half hour, even though it was, like 20°F out. The air was perfectly still. Tried the same thing a few days later, with the wind blowing, and I bolted back inside for my coat. 😆
When Henry doesn’t know it’s the hammer throw… and here I thought he just didn’t know his animals.
3:00 its a combination of the chord, the cutting (and part that is left uncut, you cant really see it because its at the other side) and the gravity
On the snakes, Roads actually get pretty warm due to the materials used and the traffic, so snakes will find and lay on them for warmth. So, really, while the snakes were in the area first, they're probably only flocking there because the road was built. So actually, in a way, the road was there first. It's why the guy's clearing them away. It's not just a possibility that they will get hit by cars, it's a high probability, because they're going there explicitly to warm themselves on the road.
Of course, with how the guy yeeted that one snake, he's probably also having fun with it.
The fish swim up into the cube. It's open at the bottom... The water stays in because it's sealed at the top.

Roads retain heat really well and so are usually much warmer than the surrounding land, even when it is colder (due to the friction from the wheels of the cars) which is why the cold blooded snakes were on/near the road. This is also why you often see dead snakes on the road (at least where I live) - they get driven over.

The fish can freely swim up into the cube and back down into the pond at their leisure. Nothing is keeping them up in the cube except their desire to take a look around. Sucking all of the air out of the cube (aquarium) creates a vacuum which sucks the water from the pond up into it and keeps the water there.

2:53 yes it can be that easy. The Arborist did good by clearing away the bark so the wedges could do their job right. You also probably don't see the wedge cut he put into the tree on the other side to help guide the tree's fall. The rope also ensures it doesn't land on the fence.

Henry, you need WAAAAAAAAAAY more to chop down a tree that precise than a door stopper. there's literal geometrical mathematics involved in where and how deep the front and back cuts are made as well as wedges and specific chainsaws with lengthened bars to chop down thick trunks. (Former landscaper/tree trimmer/tree feller)
Why don't they just tension a rope pulling in the direction they want it to fall, hooked into stakes or a nearby tree for example?
not just geometry, but 3d geometry.
@@jsalsman not an expert but i'm pretty sure it's because a singular rope is unlikely to tip a tree into an accurate direction, plus you'd need actual expensive motors which you'd have to precisely callibrate and control in the case that the tree doesn't tip in the right direction.
it's easier to just learn how to make a few cuts on a tree.
@@TechSupportDave I hear what you're saying, but I would love to understand why the experts don't supplement their cuts with a high tension rope tied high in the tree going in the preferred direction.
The Swedish torch is drawing cold air from the bottom and is burning almost evenly through the column so the temperature is pretty close from top to bottom. The heat comes from the distance to the coals which stays the same as opposed to being hotter near the bottom with a conventional fire.
