    Shodo Lessons - Kanji Writing #01
    In this first video of the Kanji Writing Series we take a look at the Kanji of EI (永)meaning eternity. This kanji is very important in the practice of Shodo; it is the foundation of the EIJI HAPPOU (永字八法) or the Eight Principles of EI. EI contains the 8 basics strokes found in all Kanji. Mastery of EI is essential in learning Shodo.
    After watching this video you can download on the website the PDF file with the Kanji in the gridded red box. The grid is used to learn composition and proportion.

    Esteban, i felt like clapping after you've finished. Please add a "slow motion version" of the writing process after the normal speed one. I think it would be very educational!

    Your theme music is reminiscent of Firefly, Much approve :) Also, as someone who is only beginning to get an appreciation of how difficult it is to learn kanji, let alone write it nicely, yours looks beautiful.

      +Xing Stephanie - "Kanji" is literally Chinese characters used in writing. :)

    • @FFede-ji9lv
      @FFede-ji9lv Před 7 lety

      While "kanji" literally means "Han characters", kanji are not the chinese characters in some cases. For example, the japanese simplified the characters of "dragon", "thirsty", "ink", etc. in a different way that the chinese did (in fact "ink" wanst simplified in chinese).
