Then you ask one of them "what are you playing?" and the guy says "it's called Gwent". You "never heard of it" and the guy "a strange white haired girl that used to come here taught me"
thats unlikely considering that u need a pack of gwent cards xD (unless ciri has one on her) but why would she teach strangers a game? now that u mentioned a bar the most likely scenario would be she entering the bar and getting weird looks from the patrons, one of them even saying "nice blade freak, where did u get it?" (freak in the sense that she has white hair, dressed in outdated clothing by cyberpunk 2077 standards and has a weird archaic speech) ciri engages the person in a conversation that doesn't end well, *queue one helluva bar brawl between her and the dude and his friends*, the entire comotion attracts unwanted attention from a patrolling law enforcement unit and before things escalate further she pulls that disappearing trick of hers and gets to safety
When I heard these lines in the game, I hardly noticed how skillfully they were delivered. Apparently they were done so well they can carry the entire narration for a trailer...
I really hope that there is a Ciri easter egg in Cyberpunk. Just see her sitting in a bar with her hood up wearing modern clothes in the background of a cutscene or something.

Very fuckin good that it's First Person Perspective game. CDPR already made 3 games + DLC to them, all of them were TPP, now they need to try something new. And please, chill the fuck out, they will deliver to you top-notch quality, and how I can know this? The devs wouldn't want a character like Ciri to outpace the Cyberpunk story and their own protagonists. People would be more focused finding Ciri than enjoying the experience the devs want to deliver.

I don't think they're saying Ciri should have been in the game, just that the quality is good enough that CDPR could have used it themselves. And it is.
It's genuinely amusing how her description of our world (well, for the most part, bar a couple of futuristic yet plausible touches) makes it sound as an absurd, impossible place from their perspective, way more bizarre than the MAGICAL fantasy setting they are living in.
I mean if you tell to someone in the Middle Ages that in the future people would fly in giant steel machines and travel further than a human of their times travel in a lifetime in just few hours, while being able to talk to anyone on the planet Thank to stuff in space orbiting around the planet, they would probably call you crazy.
The part about "waging war from a distance" makes me realize that fantasy characters would be so confused by modern combat tactics, even if they had access to magic. Think about it, all battles in worlds like the Witcher's take place up close and personal, wielding swords, covered in your enemy's blood, usually on land belonging to a powerful nation. Here, even the closest gun fights can happen from yards away and wars are usually fought far from the people who started them
I think what they would be most confused by is the pure scale. In fantasy worlds, and in historic medieval warfare, you generally gather most of your army into one place to do battle with the enemy. The idea of wars being waged along front lines spanning entire continents would be shocking.

Problem with the many worlds ciri can travel to is the question why she didn't bring anything back. When Avalach and Geralt travel around they can keep their stuff. Ciri could've brought a syringe full of nanobots to give geralt new ability slots :D
Well considering she indirectly causes a plague in the books by accidentally carrying a flea with her at one point, I'd imagine there's too big a risk in bringing anything back.

A lot of us were counting on this being something to discover in Night City. Ciri spent 6 months in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, whether she was there the same time as V, that is debatable.
"I once saw a man sunk below the floor beneath him. A man got his foot stuck on an elevator and he didnt seem to care. I dont know if its more horrifying than his leg snapping off but it stretched and spaghettified as the elevator moved. He didnt seemed unbothered. Another time I was in a busy street and for a second, everyone around me had their arms wide open and their legs together as they gave this lifeless blank stare. Later, they turned back to normal and carried on as if nothing happened.

I don't want to be negative. But me, as one amature video editor, I can find a lot of things that could drastically be improved in this video. It's a good video though, don't get me wrong.

Placeholder Well one easy fix would be: When the soundtrack kinda stops at 1:11 , the footage could end without showing the cyberpunk logo and then slowly the logo would make its appearance at the same time the sound slowly returns. Hope that makes sense. This stuff is really hard to to explain. 😕
M. What you say is absolutely correct. But thats a correction on the technical side. Now, what I wanted to emphasize on were the changes that would make this video more dynamic. That would be achieved by lining up the footage with the soundtrack perfectly. CZcams edits like this one, mainly excel when having harmony of: The right footage + matching lyrics, beats, bass drops etc. of a song/soudtrack + some kind of speach (in this case it was Siri saying things relative to what we see). Good examples of this method are: 1) "Game of Thrones - War Pigs" 2) "Floyd Mayweather vs. McGregor - '180 Million Dollar Dance' Trailer" Any effects and crazy transitions are usually too much for the average CZcams viewer.
I love this, almost makes it feel like a Witcher 3 sequel Lol. I think if they gave us some kind of DLC episode where we play as Ciri I'd die from the hype before I could even play it.
As far as we know Geralt died 1268 And Witcher’s are not immortal like wizards. The oldest known Witcher from the books is Vezemir with 150 years and he already looks pretty old

Very well done! I agree with those who think Ciri will make an appearance, but not in a quest or anything substantial like that. A glimpse, a clue she's been there. A very satisfying Easter egg.
Honestly, I’d pay good money for a DLC with a whole quest line devoted to her, from the moment she gets into NC and see her adapt to all the technology, to sending her through a portal back to The Witcher universe.
There are tons of complimenting comments here and I would usually just like the one that matched my feelings, but this is just superbly done. Yes, it's not perfect like some remarked, but I think I like it more for it. Somehow, with that background track and the timing of Ciri's voice with the video, you managed to convey an atmospheric story in 1 minutes and 22 seconds. Something you don't see a lot in trailers these days (not just for games). I was moved. Thank you.
This deserves a million views, I swear. Was very underwhelmed by the new trailer, and now I really wish they had the balls to use Ciri's lines to narrate the trailer as sort of a fun easteregg, but I know they never would. This is just spectacular, and the editing is on point. Such a simple idea executed so flawlessly.

I was very underwhelmed by the trailer as well, although the setting looked good enough to me even though it wasnt as dark as the forst trailer, which i liked, the way the protagonist conveyed their emotions, saying that “they were a big dreamer” and things like that really made me dislike the protagonist. Then all the news outlets said that the protagonist in the trailers personality was a result one of many backstories you could choose, and this made me get my hopes up for this game
Not on a trailer. There's a lot of discussion going around from the 50 minute BCD showcase with plenty of details. That and the developper's communication and legacy. They fucking opened a DRM Free store for God's sake that's how passionate these guys are! They're basically saying : "Sure you can download and play it for free. But we hope you like it so much that you'll buy it." and with the Witcher 3 they achieved just that.
No hyperbole... this is the greatest video game trailer I have ever seen (drawing from the love we have for Ciri and Geralt) ( and the excitement of a new unknown adventure) A++++
A full year on, this is still the clip that gets me the most hyped for the game. The Ciri connection is fun, but the pacing of this trailer is unbelievable!
I'm curious. In the original trailer, the word "America" makes an appearance. But then it would mean that Ciri visited our world. According to the books, she already had visited our world during the Middle Ages. I am not sure, but I think that Eredin actually had no problem with finding her there back then. Or at least he was just about to do it, which is why she left quite quickly. So why was he able to find her there back then, and not at the times of Cyberpunk? Could it be that it was way harder to detect her in our future world because there was so much metal everywhere, which distorted all the "signal" that Ciri created during her leaps in time and space and so the navigators of the wild hunt weren't able to find her?
Also the Middle Ages would have similar architecture to The Witcher World. Imagine how overwhelming huge and confusing Night City would seem to them. It was probably easy for Ciri to just run away and as long as she didn’t use her power, the city itself would protect her
Ciri is strong and all but lets be honest, she'd be incredibly vulnerable in Cyberpunk world. A runner with modest augmentations would man-handle her. Her sword probably couldn't pierce any armor. She lucky she wasn't raped tbqh

I really, really, really will totally LOSE MY MIND if Ciri has a cameo in this glorious game. I. WILL. LOSE. MY . MIND.
That's really good. I was thinking that CDP could've used something from the Witcher 3 in Cyberpunk presentation, but I am not surprised they haven't done that. People could've started to moan that they're building hype basing on another game as a "only Witcher" company.

Problem with the many worlds ciri can travel to is the question why she didn't bring anything back. When Avalach and Geralt travel around they can keep their stuff. Ciri could've brought a syringe full of nanobots to give geralt new ability slots :D
Well considering she indirectly causes a plague in the books by accidentally carrying a flea with her at one point, I'd imagine there's too big a risk in bringing anything back.

Another time I was in a busy street and for a second, everyone around me had their arms wide open and their legs together as they gave this lifeless blank stare. Later, they turned back to normal and carried on as if nothing happened.

Well one easy fix would be:
When the soundtrack kinda stops at 1:11 , the footage could end without showing the cyberpunk logo and then slowly the logo would make its appearance at the same time the sound slowly returns.

What you say is absolutely correct. But thats a correction on the technical side. Now, what I wanted to emphasize on were the changes that would make this video more dynamic. That would be achieved by lining up the footage with the soundtrack perfectly.
CZcams edits like this one, mainly excel when having harmony of:
The right footage + matching lyrics, beats, bass drops etc. of a song/soudtrack + some kind of speach (in this case it was Siri saying things relative to what we see).
Good examples of this method are:
1) "Game of Thrones - War Pigs"
2) "Floyd Mayweather vs. McGregor - '180 Million Dollar Dance' Trailer"
Any effects and crazy transitions are usually too much for the average CZcams viewer.

Honestly, I’d pay good money for a DLC with a whole quest line devoted to her, from the moment she gets into NC and see her adapt to all the technology, to sending her through a portal back to The Witcher universe.

This deserves a million views, I swear. Was very underwhelmed by the new trailer, and now I really wish they had the balls to use Ciri's lines to narrate the trailer as sort of a fun easteregg, but I know they never would. This is just spectacular, and the editing is on point. Such a simple idea executed so flawlessly.

I was very underwhelmed by the trailer as well, although the setting looked good enough to me even though it wasnt as dark as the forst trailer, which i liked, the way the protagonist conveyed their emotions, saying that “they were a big dreamer” and things like that really made me dislike the protagonist. Then all the news outlets said that the protagonist in the trailers personality was a result one of many backstories you could choose, and this made me get my hopes up for this game
Yeah, CDPR only has the "balls" to give out free DLC, massive expansions, and no microtransactions. lol @ making judgements based on a trailer.

There's a lot of discussion going around from the 50 minute BCD showcase with plenty of details. That and the developper's communication and legacy. They fucking opened a DRM Free store for God's sake that's how passionate these guys are! They're basically saying : "Sure you can download and play it for free. But we hope you like it so much that you'll buy it." and with the Witcher 3 they achieved just that.

I'm curious. In the original trailer, the word "America" makes an appearance. But then it would mean that Ciri visited our world. According to the books, she already had visited our world during the Middle Ages. I am not sure, but I think that Eredin actually had no problem with finding her there back then. Or at least he was just about to do it, which is why she left quite quickly. So why was he able to find her there back then, and not at the times of Cyberpunk? Could it be that it was way harder to detect her in our future world because there was so much metal everywhere, which distorted all the "signal" that Ciri created during her leaps in time and space and so the navigators of the wild hunt weren't able to find her?

Also the Middle Ages would have similar architecture to The Witcher World. Imagine how overwhelming huge and confusing Night City would seem to them. It was probably easy for Ciri to just run away and as long as she didn’t use her power, the city itself would protect her

I have watched this at least 2 dozen times and it still gives me chills.
I want Ciri to make a small appearance, she has to use her sword or something like that, and when you interact with her she runs away, and you can keep seeing her from time to time but after the first interaction she would disappear, but you could keep finding her if only from a distance.
