Cyberpunk as a world setting is terrifying not because it's different.

"Privacy is an afterthought."
"They (the police) answer to the highest bidder."
"Corporations control industry, the government, and most importantly, the law."
So you're saying this will be the most realitic game in history?
Yes
its the ultimate fantasy to go against the mega corps.
oh, so its like our world now but a little safer..
I mean those are like all the main themes of the genre and the genre is founded around Reagan and post world war 2 corporate growth etc.
The entire point of the genre is to reflect a dystopia in which the corporation's have more power than the government acting as social commentary on these issues.
Other than the fact the the countries with the highest standard of living are all capitalist democracies and the victory of capitalism and prosperity in the 90s is why cyberpunk fell out of style, yes.

Oh wow "cool kids" abusing drugs
@@muhammadhuzaifahmohamedsal2697 who cares, is using, not abusing. and why do you care most people dont consider themselves cool or not - they just want to use drugs, its none of your business. i consume cannabis and legally....so what ? what does cool have to do with it ? lol you are stuck in like the past century.
drugs have existed for thousands of years in human history, for recreational, medicinal and spiritual purposes.
Some drugs heal, and help you with end of life, some drugs are just fun to take, some can be addictive, and dangerous. It varies from person to person - from drug to drug. But one thing is for sure - nothing is going to change, no matter what you say....drugs, both legan and illegal are a BIG business, globally, all walks of life, all religious backrounds, all ethnic backrounds, male female, young old, black white - too much money in the drug business/trade, too many users - MILLIONS (and MILLLIONS) literally.
Cool kids take drugs, uncool kids take drugs, popular kids, isolated and introverted people take drugs, celebrities take drugs, your average middle-class citizen takes drugs, working class, the upper class, the brown skinned, and white and yellow skinned, our musicians, our farmers, hell our doctors and dentists, (even law enforcement at times) - drug use is a rational expression to an irrational world.
Think about it, your not going to live forever...what are you saving yourself gffor ? Let me ask,do you think if you live clean & sober your going to buy immortality ? lol
Drugs are everywhere (in our entertainment) in our stores & business, and in dark alley-ways. Legal prescription drugs, and street (illicit) drugs.
Throughout our history (psychedelic drugs, marijuana/cannabis, alcohol, opioids & opium, and poppy) all of it....if you look at our history...there is alot of things drugs have done both good & bad. It's not as simple as "morally black or white" right or wrong....that is a very naive way of thinking.
Drugs create, drug destroy, drugs employ, drugs destroy.
They have even had a major role in our politics, national budget, (and the war on drugs) is the most costly, long-running war (any other war, we would of abandoned it by now). The war on drugs is a massive failure, and (I dont know how it started when the Controlled Dangerous Act was put into place) BUT today 45 some years later....it has done nothing but become a war on the underclass.
Our forefathers grew marijuana on their farms, wrote important declarations on hemp paper, and our past centuries tyrants & leaders consumed a variety of substances, and NUMEROUS religions have consumed numerous drugs (both naturally occuring and synthetic/lab-produced)
Think about it, many drugs are just that (naturally occuring) they are here for a reason.
Who gets to say whats right or wrong ? you - who are you ? the arbiter of good taste?
People do as they please, take whatever they please...IT crosses the line when you harm someone else, but beyond physical violence....if someone wants to choose to drink, or pop a pill, or take a puff off a joint, or put a line of powder up their nose...regardless of the pros/cons, and the long-term effects...they are going to do it, regardless of the legal ramifications. And lets face it, many people take drugs, and never get caught...they've got money, and behind closed doors, where nobody is around, they consume them.
We wont change anything, no matter what we say, no matter how m any negative comments we make.
So get over it, move on.

night city is this world with a few illusions torn away:
1) the illusion that governments control things not corporations
2) the illusion that there are more important things in the world than money
3) the illusion that altruism governs what we do instead of self-interest
agreed.
Government controlling things is what enables corporations. There's a reason corporations love big government and regulations. Because big corporations have no problem adhering to those regulations, while their smaller competition can't.
@@thehmc that's why they pay lobbyists to advocate for smaller government. Waaaait
@John Toas He's right.
@dayum son They're not. Without money, you'd die because you can't access what you need to live. It's quite literally the most important thing because its connected to your very life.
Altruism as well, is ultimately performed to make one feel good. It is self serving, although we dont like to talk about that side of it because...it kinda ruins the illusion.
I always wondered why in Dredd. There are no plots about Megacorps. It's always gangs or side mentions of Judges shutting down companies for violations. It'd be nice for a story like that to run. Dredd taking down megacorp dogs

Witcher beat Skyrim, but it wasn't as big a deal to the community as a whole. To RPG fans, sure, but now the wider community.
Cyberpunk is different.
A lot of people who play GTA, shooters, RPG's, other open world games... I think a lot more people want this than many of us realize. I think this game is gonna be a really big deal to the community because I think more people are going to play it than The Witcher. The Witcher is fantastic but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Medievil fantasy RPG's aren't as popular with the masses as shooter open worlds. Not that I think Cyberpunk is just a shooter or anything.
I can't wait to see what happens when microtransaction and lootbox buying morons (who think "you can't expect a game to be finished on release" and "post purchase monetizations are needed so the devs can make the game the best it can be" and shit like that) see a game this good and only have to pay once.

Either way, I'm 99% sure the game will be epic and people will love it.
Honestly it's something I've always wanted, a GTA like game where it had role play elements, where my actions would REALLY matter, much like in Witcher but on a bigger scale, I do hope that my actions have big impacts on the game that are visible, let's say I end the game by shutting down a big corporation, or I become a CEO, or just some bounty hunter, who knows, I like to think that they will deliver some if not 50% of my desires that I had ever since I was a kid, an almost realistic world in a futuristic setting, or as I know it now that I got older, cyberpunk setting, hope the game has plenty of synthwave music
That's probably the reason behind a lot of the fake "outrage" articles that are being run about CD Project recently. The big Publishers have gotten used too screwing over their customers for too long, and now a powerful competitior has arisen.

that medic thing was cool asf
I know, right? I wish the whole game was more like this.
Tbf, even though the idea of privatized police is ffing scary, the police nowadays is still in service of corporations, just indirectly. Even when the police force as we know it developed, it was a reaction of the British government to labor strikes/revolts and meant to keep the workers under control without needing the military. This model got quickly adopted by many other countries. One exception is the southern US states, where the framework of the police mostly originates in slave patrols.
Fully agree with everything said in the video. Recently, I've tried playing Fallout 4, then got bored by the lack of, well, Fallout in my Fallout game, so I've installed New Vegas, instead and boy-the difference was like day and night! One was a looter shooter set in Fallout universe, and the other was an actual Fallout game.
Exactly dude. Fun fact: New Vegas is one of my favorite RPGs of all time!
This is such a B.S. romp. (/Sarcasm)New Vegas is nothing like Fallout 1 or 2 so its not Fallout either.(/endSarcasm) You can like it more than any of the others but that does not make it more "Fallout" than any of the others. It just means you like it more.
The depth of New Vegas was good but there was so much in you face "look at what your actions do," it ruined the game for me. It also wasn't about a post apocalyptic world, its about building/rebuilding a world (the exact same as FO4) than surviving it (at least FO4 was built around and later added a true survivor mode). I would rather take actions and later find out through the game what is going on not through a bunch of numbers flashing over my screen. I think all of the Fallout games are good for different reasons but none have captured the feel of the universe as well as the first two but maybe one day they will be able to get it in the 3D universe they are playing in now.
Your complaints about Oblivion is a non plus as well because if you followed the story, Cyrodil is a homogenized part of the empire, it would always be that way because its a diplomatic and diverse area. A place that all races can at least some what feel accommodated.
Each company will do their games differently and that is important for the game medium. If you complain that every game isn't like Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077.... thats all you will ever get and we will once again only get these types of games until another phenom comes along in two decades. Don't get me wrong, constructive criticism is good but just shoveling on top of the criticism is bad.
It's not about being in your face, but about making you actually care about your choice, as opposed to Fallout 4, where you only care about which perk do you get. There is, also, a much more adult thematic going on in New Vegas, as opposed to Fallout 4, which makes a playthrouogh much more immersive than some "Survival," mode, which in actuality translates into chore tamagotchi, in exchange for higher legendaries chance.
So yeah, having an actual story, where you actually care for the consequences and where you can lose your companions, forever, if they die-that alone makes New Vegas better than Fallout 4. It's not Fallout 2, but it's pretty damn close, too.
Really? So every time they paused the game to point out your reputation lost or gain was not in your face? I didn't care about the story at all, it was a hodgepodge political lesson that you really just joined a political party and killed for them. Not much more of a story than real politics. There were great side quests but you can get that from every Bethesda game and really, the side quests are usually the better world builders in open world games anyway. There was very little personal stake other than your life which you lost at the beginning of the game... you were a faceless yes man for whatever group you joined, (even if it ended up you chose yourself which ruins the whole area according to the ending.) I completely agree for the companions though, real consequences with companions needs to come back to FO but I didn't feel much connection with any of the companions any way. Let alone the game would crash at the blink of an eye because of the bugs which were horrible even against Bethesda standards. I personally think New Vegas was a good game but it was not better than FO1 through 3 and its barely better than FO4.
I am also not really trying to dog on New Vegas or your choice, just pointing out that dogging on other actual good games, (which no matter how much you deny FO4 was a good game once Survivor mode was introduced impo,) does not validate your "good" game more. Dogging on Oblivion, a game that paved the way for Witcher 3 is stupid. If there was no Oblivion, there most likely would be no Witcher 3. Each game in a series is going to be a bit different because if they kept it the same it would grow stale, sometimes designers succeed like Witcher 3 sometimes they don't do it as well like FO4 but criticize for the game to get better, don't pile on the hate.
Absolutely look up and install a tale of two wastelands. It’s fallout 3 modded into new Vegas.

8:41 Yeah, I think the issue with Aldiun in Skyrim was less the world building, and more the fact that Skyrim is pure power fantacy. You could chalk it up to world building, sure, but I think thats a smidge misguided. Skyrim's _world_ makes dragons seem extremely threatening and utterly devastating. Alduin destroys an entire town before you even have control over yourself. But then, within the first few hours you actually face one and instead of devastating you get nothing but high damage fire and ice breath. And right after you kill it, you find out you're this prophesied being of limitless power. You feel like a demi-god straight away. Thats not necessarily world building, more player interaction. And it really takes tension away from the game. CyberPunk is the exact opposite. It makes you feel at the bottom. Because you are. That's why it feels so immersive.
Perfectly said! Thanks for watching!
Yup that’s pretty much it, I love how cyberpunk is hopefully gonna make you feel like your right at the bottom but you have the opportunity’s to make your way up and it’s up to you how you go about doing that, but I hope that no matter how strong we get and what amazing vehicles and guns we obtain that they keep the corporations and certain gangs just above you as you know they have pretty much armies under their control, you should never feel like your stronger than those companies if you get what I mean, that’s what can end a game for me is when you are basically a god, it’s so much more fun when you are having to fight for your life and anyone can be dangerous
Alduin is just a terribly executed character, and the boss battle with him is one of the worst of all RPG history.
Shout at a few fogs and fight generic dragon with Aldiun skin. Lol.
I'd rather play Skyrim as a nobody wrapped up in a civil war - and if there's a prophecy at all it revolves around an NPC you see and hear of. No desire to be a vampire Dragonborn master assassin archmage multi-Thane.

I’ll be so busy I’ll not be able to have complete any spiritual journey but it’ll be worth it. I’ll do it in the next life
"I'm about to jizz". The words every CZcamsr longs to hear from his viewers.
Glad I could make your day 💯🛸🖖🏻
One of the biggest points of criticism I tend to hear, is a lack of difficulty. I do think it misses the point somewhat, especially in an RPG. A good RPG is as hard or as easy as you want it to be. And yes, I did say a good RPG. Bethesda doesn't make good RPGs, they build good worlds and lore. They don't _get_ the RPG mentality and they never will.
CD:PR are excellent RPG builders. If you don't play for story, both world and lore, you'll miss out on most of what their best games have to offer. Don't run into Cyberpunk expecting a shoot and loot game. Walk in. Take your time to soak it all in. Take your time to talk to random strangers. Explore the gritty yet colourful world, because there's bound to be an interesting discovery, no matter where you look. Build your character around your experiences in that world. Those who don't enjoy that kind of gameplay, who don't get immersed into a world and who just want to shoot the bad guys, should stick to shooters and don't expect each game that just happens to involve some combat to automatically cater to them.
Simply put, Cyberpunk is a RPG. A _roleplaying_ game. It's not a Doom clone. It's no single player COD ripoff. If that's what you expect, look someplace else. I've seen too many potentially good RPGs get lost to the mindless "shoot first, think never" kind of gamer. The Witcher (especially 3) is the only AAA RPG franchise we've pretty much ever seen that actually honours the term RPG. Cyberpunk will be a long overdue second I personally can't wait to sink all my free time into. I'll no-life the absolute shit out of this thing. An anticipation I haven't had in a long time now.
John A. Zoidberg
Thank you based god...
To be fair, cyberpunk isn’t a place where people can just engage in random conversations without someone dead at the end. You’re playing a thug looking to climb.
Did you ever play daggerfall or morrowind? Daggerfall has to be one of my favorite RPGs. Point being that Bethesda used to know RPGs
@@andresond2 Also what about BioWare? Not today's BioWare, the Anthem Bioware, but the old titles like Baldur's gate? Mass Effect? Jade Empire? They ruled the world of RPGs for a period of time

The scary thing about the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is it looks way too close to how our future will look like if things keep going on our current trajectory. Welcome to the world of the future, to your future in your retirement.
Makes me really curious what happens to nature when my fav genre takes over
Whats even more scarier is it will be even worse then what this game shows. White Caucasian people will be the most hated and treated the worst out of anyone else because of how other races see us only from what our forefathers did to theirs in the past cause that's all they can think about is getting revenge. And as soon as they get the upper hand and take over our governments then they will have it out for the white man and make it hell on earth as soon as we become the minorities in our own countries. We will more then likely see this happen within our life times but we will be old and almost dead so thank goodness for that!
White European people aren't part of the future as far as these filthy rich 1% Jewish families are concerned and they own most if not all of the 1st world European nations that's why we are being flooded with Muslims and Illegal Immigrants by the millions each year to slowly breed Caucasian people out and replace us with more dark skinned people.

What happens if a platinum member of Trauma Team gets severely injured by a party of people who are also similar tier clients to Trauma Team? Will the arriving medics still gun them down?
Lol I'd assume they'd try to use non-lethal methods, or they'd cancel the services of the offending party for violating his terms of service.
It's actually covered in the lore. If both clients use the same insurance company then they'll be just treated normally. However, if trauma teams belong to two different companies firefight might occur - and probably will.
TT will attempt to stop the fight using nonlethal means, should the violence be turned to the medics they will respond accordingly. In the player's handbook for 2020 there is an excerpt from a medics daily report where they performed cpr on a platinum client- he got violent over the bill and had a bullet put in him... Which the medics promptly removed the charge the guy more for services rendered, the bullet that had been lodged in his gut, and the fuel used to get to him. His account was then terminated since he attacked a TT medic
No. Violence is expensive and you usually have no idea who is insured and who isn't. That's what private arbitrators are for anyway.
David Gonzalez if someone who’s receiving CPR can get violent maybe CPR isn’t all they were receiving. Only about 10% of people who require CPR make it. It ain’t like in the movies where they just wake up.

Imagine playing this game with a vr headset.
Lol I cant wait until that's possible.
@@psychotripnerdstuff hey trip, i got a few questions if you dont mind.
1. Say for example, we play counter strike. The gameplay is viewed on vr, but the controls are still via mouse and keyboard. Is it possible? For example, we can bend to the side and watch over a wall, like, when you are trying to take a peek behind something big kind of thing? So, via vr, we have much more control over our view. English is not my native language.
2. Say for example that thing js possible, can we hook up another vr headset and watch our friend's gameplay? Like, we just follow along and we are free to look around whilst the movements are all controlled by our friend, that is actually playing the game. We just tag along and look around.
3. In this situation, lets say a player plays a game, cyberpunk 2077 for example. He still uses the traditional setup, with monitor and keyboard and mouse, those peripehrals. But, he also has a spare vr headset. So, can we hook it up and just tag along while having the vr versatility of looking around, but with no control over the movements? I've been wanting to know these since forever.
Thanks!
@@myerwerl 1. Pretty sure that's possible, yes! I think that's how Skyrim VR works, for example. It would have to be a game designed with VR in mind, of course.
2. You can totally do that, yeah. Streamers do this a lot, and I'm sure there's programs out there that let you watch twitch in VR. If there aren't any programs like this, they'll likely exist soon.
3. I'm not sure if you can hook them up, but again you can totally view someone else's VR experience. All they have to do is stream it somewhere like on twitch.
Hope this helps!

I know, right? I'm literally talking about the game on Reddit right now. This has been an amazing shitshow. Damn shame that isn't the immersive open-world I'd hoped for.
But don't worry. With games like Breath Of the Wild and Ghost Of Tsushima, I think we have a pretty good template for how to make an open-world game for the modern era.
Sooner or later, we'll get a game that lives up to the hype.
@@psychotripnerdstuff And it's damn sad. 2018 - 2019, you could've felt people's enthusiasm for how the game was imagined to be.
The enigmatic presence that the game had at the time spawned so many interesting takes (like yours). It was a really cool 'cat and mouse' dynamic, to see who gets things right.
I would've lost my mind if Trauma team was a dynamic entity that patrolled the streets and didn't give two shits about the player ... but in an authentic way. Right?
People being too hype-drunk came up with all sorts of wild takes. And when the curtain was pulled we ended up in this point.
It is what it is, I guess, but I'm as hopeful as you are for Ghost of Tsushima and BOTW being the real blueprint for an authentic OW experience.

@safnhuo i do kinda like the sound of that but once we make good enough bionics that are on par with normal human levels i think people would want to improve on it it don't you think? i personally see us heading toward deus ex with a subtle theme of prey the reboot(minus the aliens part)

Most immersion in open world games feel almost plastic than authentic. Most open worlds aren't able to blend environment/athmisphere, characters, and a foundational story into a breeding and expanding universe that doesn't end with the credits.
