    Please do more diagnostic like this. Great info. Would be great if you went into
    “Odd tire ware “ show what causes them. I always have trailers with uneven ware the tire shops just scratch there head like they don’t know the underlying cause. & just slap new tires on and send us on our way. But I know that’s just putting a temp fix. It still eats the next tire the same way

    Thanks for the tips, doing my old cab over soon, shimmying around 60mph. Just had a 3 axle alignment and all ten new rimscand tires trued and balanced, replaced rear intermediate shaft and universal joints. Most common cause of equipment failure is LOL=lack of lubrication. If you run your own truck and don't have a grease gun onboard and these failures happen blame the guy starring back at you while you brush those teeth

    • @princepanda816
      @princepanda816 Před 2 lety +7

      A way I use to confirm if it’s a bad king pin is that I put my finger where the axle meets the spindle and pry on the wheel. If it moves I know the problem is kingpins. But if not it’s probably a bearing issue, then I torque the bearing and check for play again. It always works for me.

    That wear is absolutely not kingpins. That is lack of rotation. Ever notice how its the outside of the right tire and inside of the left tire?
    Also you don't use a bar for checking king pins. Using a bar is for ball joints and has become common from auto mechanics working on large trucks and thinking the procedure is the same. I can almost guarantee that kingpin was not bad.

    Porter greetings.🤩 It has been such a long time since I checked the kingpins for any play, especially a big semi. If your camera was on the ground or a stand you could see it better. What I’ve found is this…If you do one side you should do BOTH because it will eventually happen to both sides of it’s not already. Agree? Now the big question is how many hours and cost does it entail for just the kingpins? Please advise. 🧐

  • @the.porter.productions
    @the.porter.productions Před 2 lety +2

    Porter greetings! 🇺🇸 Usually, if you have wear on the kingpin on the left side, would you also have wear on the right side as well? Did this truck get both replaced? Around how much would this cost in your shop? Generally speaking, I’ve learned that whatever you do to one side you also should do to the other side, even if there are NO signs of problems on the other side. This is what I’ve learned and what others have told me. Good stuff! Thanks for sharing. 🥰🤩✌️
