Making Chainsawsquid in Side Order | Off Color Monochrome Run

- Instead of doing a normal monchrome, what if I did an Off Color one, where I try to pick chips of anything that isn't the most common tone. In this case, I will do a run with the Splatana and collect power chips in hopes of maxing out the horizontal swing speed

Quick correction: Having color bias off makes the "most common" color actually less common
i had no idea! i was wondering why i wasnt getting the chips i wanted!
@@CD_ian. Yeah, I remember watching it in a video. Something like 15% and 10% for the twi "most common" colors (can't remember the actual numbers) while the rest is evenly distributed between the other colors (~19% each using the probably incorrect numbers I used above)
Color bias makes the probability of getting chips from the most common colors higher, eventually making them the actual most common colors, but with no bias they're actually rater than the rest of the colors

another tip for off-colour monotone runs: turn off turf drone gauge, as well as splat drone gauge if you're not doing a drone run. it's not much, but it removes a couple chips from the pool, which is always helpful

out of every rigorous level, i’d say it’s the second easiest, but still, i’m not surprised it’s rigorous. it’s horrible
What I love about side order is that you can make any kind of op weapon you want with good enough rng but there's always a downside. "Here, enjoy your instant charge auto aim charger. Have fun but don't forget to watch your ink levels and don't forget you literally cannot stop the auto aim."
I don’t know if you already know this, but if you hit the smaller propeller on the tower, its ink tank fills up faster
There's been a lot of criticism that amounts to "please put more content into Side Order" and I am all for that because can you imagine what utter shenanigans this absolute legend could get up to with even MORE to work with!?

Another strategy I’ve found for these situations is to turn off all your drone hacks (unless of course you’re doing a drone run)
That way there’s far less drone chips in the rotation, and overall less chips for the game to choose to give you

This has to be one of my favorite runs, I usually do this with not all red but instead rush attack up close damage up and quick charge to spam charge slashes or main range ink attack size and horizontal swipe speed along with ink saver main because it gets costly to spam that many swipes. Also recommend inking coverage to be able to move around

18:31 UGH GOD I FEEL YOU roller with that stage on my monochrome run was ABSOLUTE HELL
I just did a run with blaster where I got like four different main fire speed up's. It probably would have been better if I had more ink recovery stuff and more main ink cost reduction, but it did shred overlorder when combined with stamp special.
If you use octobrush, then max moving ink speed and moving special gauge, (with special charge up,) you can spam specials, so try that if you want.
I think vending machines are worth it, it is essentially a free reroll.
My range for vending machines on any kind of run where I’m farming a specific chip is 3000 membux minimum, but ideally you want 3500-4000 at least, bc then you can reset it a good number of times and still have enough money to buy 3 of something if it does show up, or if nothing good is rolled you still have like 1000ish left for floor rerolls

For collection farming, I bet taking the single instance chips like squid attack and lunge attack helps if you don't care about monochrome since they immediately are removed from future floor rolls.

if i'm not wrong, to do a off-color palette, specifically this one, wouldn't be better if the pearl drone chips were off?
You should turn off the drone chips during these monochrome runs to keep them from showing up, basically getting rid of 1/6 of your possible bad chips
I would recomend turning off the pearl drone hacks so they don't take up space for more usefull cips
for monochrome runs, vending is situational. if you have a lot of membux saved, you can get multiple color chips from it and fill your palette. i usually save it for the end. now if you're going for a specific chip, however, you typically don't wanna monochrome it. what i do is try to get at least 2 of the needed chip before the first boss. if successful, i just go for the highest membux levels unless my desired chip shows up. sometime after floor 25ish, i'll go for a vending machine and you should be rich enough to reset it a lot. if you were unlucky and only got 2/5 chips the whole run, you can typically buy the rest. if you were very lucky, however, and only need 1 more, floor resets are best. that's how i got the exclusive chips for weapons that don't favor them. :)
the thing is with resetting a lot is that it gradually gets more expensive with each consecutive reset

ive tried 2 complete runs w stamper to get the stamper exclusive chips, only got horizontal slash once in each run 😭
