On this World Soil Day (Dec 5th, 2023), I am thrilled to stumble upon this gem of a video. I was a bit taken aback by FAO disabling comments on their video of the day. I am glad I can express here my utmost appreciation of the gift we have as Earthlings to have a planet that has soil, something no other celestial body has (as far we have discovered so far). Let's protect our precious, food-giving resource. It's easy, we just need commitment to do this!

I didn't know South Africa has the oldest soil in the world! Soil is underappreciated indeed, it's important for agriculture, buildings, even purifying water.
