Wow, really appreciate the offer of help, I may take it up some time ;) I have found my issue, when placing the post in the assembly its origin was not on the assembly origin. When creating the feature driven pattern, the assembly origin was used for the centre point, match the post and assembly origin and all done :-) now for floxpress :(

Thanks for the great video. I have followed your steps but with cylinders following the feature driven pattern. My cylinders don't stay mated to the surface feature. They start mated and finished mated but move away from the central post using a circle offset from the post. Any ideas? Thanks again

I suppose there's the chance that they broke something since I did this video in version 2010. Is your cylinder fully constrained or just concentric? If it has the - in front of the part name then it's free to spin and maybe that is causing a problem of some sort. You could add a straight feature in the sketch so that you can mate one of the cylinder planes to it so that they can't rotate and hope that does it. I don't know what it would be other than that.

If you are stuck you could pack and go the 2 files and email them and I could take a quick look tonight or tomorrow morning.
