@@paolomarchignoli5985Due to innate instability of solar power (hello duck curve) we can't fully rely on it unless we build a LOT of battery storage or backup power plants (mostly thermal ones).

@@deniskhafizov6827 i know, but solar can provide for a big share of industrial generation. But we need also wind + nucleare + storage in order to have a sustainable mix.

Yes, but there is an exponential growth. It means that the rising increase the next years so much, that solar power will overtake other power sources in the future. The prices for solar power are still falling per kWp. Humas mostley think linear, for most of the people it is hard to see this coming.

How explains the huge fluctuations from year to year. Do they take of all panels to put new ones 2 years after. Normally if one is damaged should be changed, but I can't understand the monstruos changes.

Viewing from France. We have only 1/3 as much solar as Germany, but our electricity is 50% cheaper, and we produce barely 1/2 of Co2 emissions that Germany produces since they still use ... coal! What disturbs me about all this is that the amount of acreage devoted to putting solar panels on and the amount of mining involved for all the copper and various other metals. Europeans don't see this because mining is done elsewhere than here, where environmental regulations are less constraining, typically in the "global south". In spite of all this frenzy for so-called "clean" energy, CO2 continues to rise and climate change continues unabated. It's very hard to see how net-zero can be achieved on this wind and solar path. More nuclear energy will be needed, but my guess is that fossil fuels will remain with us for quite some time to come.

I know what you mean! I live in the United States (Staunton, Virginia, at present), but I watch videos from a Man that lives in Irlam, in the United Kingdom (Great Britain).
Anyways:I can't count the times, that I've watched his videos, and personally witnessed how much cloud cover there is over there! Videos of days where, from Dawn to Dusk, it's nothing but low clouds, and sometimes, fog.
Personally, I don't know how they stand all of that cloud cover. It's depressing!
      It's also enough to drive a person mad...as in-INSANE!!!

The point is under Modi govt solar power projects have been implemented at a higher rate than previous goverment. It wasn't that hard to understand.
