- The ending scene from A Crack In Time in my opinion involves all sorts of different feelings going on in the minds of these two characters.
The most obvious reasoning for Clank not following his destiny is their friendship. What was Clank really thinking when he said Ratchet needs to find his kind, what was really going on in his mind at that moment?

The end scene of A Crack in Time always makes me tear up a little. A similar scene that is real sweet is when Clank meets his Mom in the first game. Clank has a bad habit of walking away right when his parents try to tell him how proud they are of them.

You know, it's funny. I have the same feeling about this. When Clank say that he cannot leave Ratchet until he finds his own, that made me realize that I understand his feeling. I want Ratchet to see his kind one last time. Sly Cooper get to see his ancestors, and Jak got to see his father even he didn't know. So, what I'm saying is, I want to see the Lombaxes(and no, I'm not counting the Lombaxes that is from Alister's flashback). Beside of Alister and Angela, we never see so many Lombax people. I want all of us Ratchet included to see the Lombaxes. No threats, ricks, or anything that'll danger the galaxy or the universe itself.
THEY NEED TO MAKE A GAME ON HIM FINDING HIS FAMILY!!! ITS DRIVING MEE INSANE. xD But srlsy its so annoying that we can't see ratchet get to see his family.

Wouldn't it be a great idea for Ratchet and ONLY RATCHET being teleported to the Lombax dimention, (By the "Reality Breaking" events) which is still in war with the cragmites which took their time and managed to harvest that dimention to build a way out of there.

That was a really good video and is a bit like how I imagine Ratchet would think in my series. Ratchet wants to try and find the Lombaxes and is also wondering what it would be like if he did. He also has a close connection to all of us and he even shares a brother/sister relationship with me, with him adopting me at the end of our first adventure together. I don't have the script finished yet, but I do have a test video if you want to check that out.
All I'm saying is that if they reboot the story and start over, it will be the worse mistake they have ever made, nobody's gonna stick around a couple of more years just to make more movie-based Ratchet & Clank games. Following up with Going Commando.
I want them to just toss that one aside and continue from ITN.

Actually that is a good and best question the plumber is following Ratchet throughout the game even in the comic could he be a friend to Ratchet father
I think you hit the nail on the head so to speak. Expect there's one thing I would like to add to it. To me it always seemed like these two characters became friends because they were in the same boat. Neither of them knew their parents, both had wanted to go somewhere, and they needed each other's help to do so. Then comes Clank's father and he starts learning all of this stuff about what's he supposed to do. By the end of this game, Clank has something stable and a place where he has work to do. Ratchet of course understood but I knew he wasn't looking forward to that good bye. Ratchet, deep down, was probably thinking that if Clank left then he would be by himself all over again, even though he had other friends that were with him. That hug near the end of the game really spoke to me. It was like Ratchet was saying, "I understand you have to do this....but please don't go." I agree that when Clank saw Ratchet leaving, he started to think about Ratchet and him not having his race which caused him to change his mind and to go with him. But i think it's more than that. Clank says that, he couldn't leave Ratchet until he found his own when he was talking about his family. I think that means that Clank isn't just looking for the race itself, he looking for someone that Ratchet can call his family. Whether he would find that with his race or somewhere out there in the galaxy, even Clank doesn't know. But Clank won't be happy knowing he has a family until he knows that Ratchet has people he can call his family too. Truth be told, I love to see Ratchet go to where his race is and meet them even if it was just once. And I have to admit.....A Lombax villain trying to take over to galaxy does sound like an interesting idea.

You see it's these types of moments that can make a game or movie script go a long way from being great. It's these types of moments that make us feel for charters. even if it's just a little moment, We can care and connect with these charters more when these moments happen. It can make us feel for what these charters are going threw. Like when Ratchet gave clank a hug at the ending of a Crack in time. We felt happiness and sadness inside all of us. We could also think that we could feel Forgiveness for both of these charters. They both forgive each other all that has happened with them and for them to move on in life. it's these types of moments That make the Ratchet and clank series so great. And why we continue and keep going back to these games. We what to see and feel what these charters are going threw in these moments. Like in "How to train your dragon 2" When Toothless was under the control of the alpha dragon and Hiccup his loyal friend was trying to get him back to his side. We could see all the sadness Hiccup was going threw, but we could also feel for Toothless in this moment because he just killed Stoick. Toothless was probably so lost when all of this happened that he couldn't think of anything. And when Hiccup finely got back his friend we could see and feel happiness and forgiveness. All of these moments just make us happy and what to continue down these charters paths again.
What would / will happen ones Ratchet and Clank discover the rest of the Lombaxes? Would Ratchet join to his race? Would Clank go with him? Would Ratchet join to his kind and Clank go back to the Clock to take his place as the Master again? I would say that they would visit the Lombaxes but come back and continue as the heroes of the their Galaxy.

I would name the final game of ratchet and clank a hero end or lost race and yes the title is almost like Uncharted 4 a thief end and the ending for Uncharted 4 is the best I seen to end a beautiful franchise
This was a really deep video, VTNVIVI. Although I've never taken any classes in these sort of things, I believe that Ratchet's been having an inner conflict with himself since the first game from the original series. But has kept it to himself. He may not have really thought about it until Tools of Destruction and then the events of A Crack in Time; and that has Ratchet's mind being somewhat overwhelmed I guess. Sorry for lengthy comment.
Hence Ratchet saying ''I dunno'', he's constantly thinking but just not expressing it... Like he feels he'll abandon his friends, thinking that the other dimension is where he's supposed to be. Very well said thank you for sharing!

Depends on the context what would happen if the option to go after Lombaxes was introduced in Going Commando. If there was no threat looming over the decision of going, Ratchet would probably go. And Clank would go with him. Cause at that time, neither of them really had much ties to their current dimension. And also, nobody says returning would be completely impossible. We don't know what's on the other side. My guess is that back then they would both go just out of sense for adventure. They just started with their hero life and were excited about it. There was no reason not to try it out. Didn't the events of the second game happen in a different galaxy anyway? Yeah, galaxies are just adjecent to one another and travel there is trivial in their universe. But again: there was no Tawlyn, Clank had no notion of having any father or purpose that tied him there...
Speaking of which... When it comes to Ratchet not knowing if he would go if he could, there is a similar question for him about family and purpose. He doesn't know. And that's why he said he doesn't know if he would go. It is possible that he has no relatives anymore and that there would be nothing for him to do there. But it's also possible that like Clank he could suddenly discover some kind of responsibility. And that's the key. Responsibility. I think that's why he can't say outright "no", no matter how much he likes it where he is. How could he live with himself knowing there was a possibility there was something he should have done, but didn't because he just left it behind? That feelning can rival the feeling of possibly leaving behind what he has now.
And from what Clank said... it sounded like they may indeed part ways in the future once Ratchet is done with looking for his purpose. And Clank wants to help Ratchet with that. Clank didn't return to just hang out. He returned specifically to help Ratchet find what he himself found cause he felt he owed it to Ratchet. That's why Clank can't really just give up on this. He has to find Lombaxes with Ratchet. And who knows, if there really is purpose for Ratchet out there... it could be the end of the series. Nobody goes adventuring forever.
While that would be sad... Part of the journey is the end. I think that sometimes having an end to a series is better than letting it fall into obscurity. It's kind of why I don't appreciate Into the Nexus that much. Cause its story came out of nowhere, and its ultimate point was the exact same as in Crank in Time, only weaker. Ratchet again stops someone from reuniting with their kind, and is left without the option of doing the same himself in the process. I don't like that the story progressed to a point where now either nothing of substance can happen, or we have to relive the same theme forever and bring the status quo back again. Either give us satisfying ending... Or open a completely new chapter. Like actually going to the Lombax dimension and boom, suddenly we have tons of new worlds, characters, plots and events we can extend to a new trilogy.
Or another cool idea I had: Lombaxes finally constructing some device for dimensional travel again, and massively returning to our galaxy with an army expecting to fight the Cragmites. But in the absence of Cragmites, a different conflict happens that may be actually caused by Lombaxes. Especially if they return in armor, with weapons and warships expecting enemies.
If not this, I will take anything else that will include us finally seeing the Lombaxes. The developers hanged that candy in front of us for so long. Why suddenly abandon the idea as if was meaningless? I know it does nothing for the gameplay or marketing of the game, as it's really a thing that will only interest the most diehard fans... But common! That's the reason why Insomniac or Sony is using this IP, ain't it?
What would be cool as you said, the Lombaxes themselves create a new conflict, one Ratchet would've never imagined!
I hope that some day (in Future) we will get next (not re-make) R&C Game, and we will be able to find Lombaxes and learn more about Ratchet's Family etc. :)

When I'd first played this that totally shock me when I saw Alistair kill Ratchet! Until Clank went inside the great clock and reverse time so it didn't happen but yeah best ending, but I don't think the series will end with ratchet and clank going their seperate ways.for one thing if ratchet was to find the lombaxs, I'd imagine the scene like this. Ratchet: well clank we finally found them, the lombaxs,Ratchet turns his head. Hey Clank!.Where are you going?. Clank:I do not know Ratchet but you don't need me anymore, you finally found the lombaxs a family of your own, we've been through a lot of adventures together, but I believe the time has come that we now go on are own seperate paths, Goodbye Ratchet,you will always be my true Friend.:Clank, you goofball, you've always been my Family, we've had been on a lot of adventures pal, you, me, Talwyn, Cronk, Zephyr, and Quark, but we always been there for eachother, Thats never going to change.#TrueFriendsAreFamliy Like if you agree.

I'm thinking this: (psicologic moment):
Clank was built to keep care of the Great clock.
But in these scenes we understand that also Clank have freedom to do what he wants.
I mean, Clank is a robot. When he discover his father, he is conscious of his role in the universe...
But looking at the cut-scene 2 in detail, we Can see that for the first time Clank have to struggle hardly with "Human" feelings.
At the end of the ologram of Orvus, he said "but i'm a father, i cannot obly my son to do what I want... I Just want that My son live his life and he is conscious of his choises." (There are not the real Word said, but a summary).
So Clank, that know for what he was built for, want to help his Friend because,in this moment, also Ratchet have to find a "role in the universe" (not the role of intergalactic Hero, but choice between meet Lombaxes and leave friends or stay with Friends but leave his race and his origins).

I always believed that Clank decide to go with Ratchet mainly because Clank is the Only very important thing that Ratchet owns. And, of course, because Clank wishes to bring Ratchet to meet his race.
But i don't understand this: if we assuming that the 2 Heroes go Into the Lombaxes dimension...
Why the Lombaxes can't return on Polaris?
Why the Lombaxes have to persuade Ratchet to leave his Friends and stay with his race??
I mean, maybe the Lombaxes have moved to this dimension and leave the Dimensionator to the other side and so they can't return.
But now the situation is different.
Ratchet & Clank have a Dimensionator... So FOR ME is logical that, once the 2 Heroes know the Lombaxes, they permit to leave their dimension to move in a normal Galaxy.
I'd say the Lombaxes are afraid to come back, thinking Tachyon has full power, also like you pointed out they left the dimensionator behind. The Lombaxes would tell Ratchet that there's no threat from the Craigmites in their dimension something like that.

I imagine the lombax dimension would be a horrible realization with the bones of dead lombaxes everywere.
I got a feeling that they went someplace really hostile to avoid tachyon, and whatever that was there proved to be so deadly that it wiped them all out.
I have a feeling the Lombaxes are in danger, that could be a nice plot idea.
What makes Clank one of my favorite characters in all fiction is that he has a soul. His soul comes from Orvus, and I can relate to his character so much more, because I know his feelings are not just emulated by a program. At the same time, being a robot is seen in his rational personality

With Ratchet and Clank and what you said reminds me quite a bit of my universe. Ratchet hardly knows anything about the Lombaxes and he adopts me since I am fairly similar with my species and all of us try to learn what happened to the cetsils (my species). I might possibly use the story for Nexus as a base for one of my previous adventures.

It seems like Ratchet got some sort of closure after finding out the Lombaxes are fine. Besides the fact that his species is there, there isn't really much for him besides a way to end his curiosity. His parents are dead and everything he has is on his dimension. So, if he went there, he wouldn't do it to stay.

I think a perfect end for the series would be a game after Into the Nexus where Tachyon returns and they travel to the Lombax Dimension. Make it an epic finale where Tachyon finally dies and ratchet makes an ultimate decision: Will he stay there or go back to the Solana/polaris galaxy?
Alexander Becker they should make a thing where the player has options to either let Ratchet stay, or leave. Like in those TellTale games

+The Good Gaming Dragon Oh the chronocepter!!! Never thought of it. Clank would have to find Sigmund. It is unknown if it can manipulate time outside of the great clock, so he'd have to speak to Sigmund.
I do like the ending where Clank is concerned, and Orvus is a good papa. But I think killing Alister was a mistake. He didn't deserve to die and Ratchet just lost someone else who could've been part of his new family. Alister should've been allowed to live and further redeem himself, and teach Ratchet more about the Lombaxes. It would have helped emphasize that you can't change the past but you can make a better future.
It's really said that he died, he was the last remaining Lombax and could've been a nice father figure for Ratchet. As for why he had to die, he learned from his mistake and sacrificed himself, that's what he believed was the right thing to do, who knows what was going on through his mind, maybe he wanted to reunite with his pal Kaden in the afterlife. If you want to dive deeper, Alister lived on his own for years, constantly living with that regret. In the comics, Ratchet actually blamed himself for what happened, something we never saw in-game.
VTNVIVI - I just meant from a writing standpoint. It would have been more effective to keep him alive (perhaps critically injured). The "atonement through sacrifice" trope is a real downer.
Alister got screwed over too, especially when Clank tried to save Orvus in the past despite everyone telling him fiddling with the past is wrong. No wonder Alister was so mad when Clank just up and says "no, we can't use it as a time machine again" even though he already did it once.

I need to find the series again for ps3 . because i don't want to wate years for all the ps4 versions to come out , by than , i will be old and grey . because i'm 42 yrs old now . as the reason i love nastasic . because all part of my life growing up from a kid.

I've played all of the R&C games on Console at least 2 times, some of them (R&C and R&C3) 10 times, but today in 2020 i've realised that Ratchet have Hex nut slot on his back that fits perfectly on Clank's back bolt. After 11 years of playing I find out how Ratchet can hung Clank on his back...

After recently finishin' A Crack In Time I feel like this may be the saddest finale to a game series, it remind me of the Avengers Endgame movie where Tony died, but here Ratchet got killed then was brought back but then Alister dies, when the end credits come it just make the whole thing unbearably sad, is this still a happy conclusion to the storyline?
Alister's death, despite his intentions, it felt sad. Ratchet was sad if you've read the comics which happens after ACiT.
Right, despite his intentions he just wanted to bring back the Lombaxes it was sad, and I haven't read the Ratchet comics that take place after ACIT but sounds interestin'.

Me as Lombax: it’s going to be okay Ratchet he did right things to stop Breaking the clock
Perhaps if Clank did join his kind in going commando Ratchet would have joined Angela. But I don't think that Orvus would have aloud for it, he's still the caretaker and he probably would have known that Ratchet still required Clank. But I don't necessarily think Clank would have joined because of the ending in R&C 1. Clank wanted to be friends with Ratchet despite all of there arguiments, even if Clank did join he would still want to help Ratchet despite the fact that Ratchet might say "don't worry about it".
If Clank is able to fix the demensionator and Ratchet wants to go in, everynody is probably going to want to go with him. Maybe Max Apogee (Talwyns father) is in the lombax dimension, maybe Angela is there as well. But why the lombaxes did not take the dimensionator with them is enigmatic...maybe thare are numerous dimensionators. Maybe there will be a reason to go or for the lombaxes to escape from the dimension...in an earlier video you talked about how Nefarius might not be the main villian anymore, maybe (if their is a new villian) the new villian would threaten many galaxies and dimensions. Maybe the villian could be from the lombax dimension. Not necessarily a lombax, we don't know if there were other races in the dimension when the lombaxes retreated there.
By the way, my personal oppinion is that if insomniak games wants to make a reboot, make whan of Nexus, I just feel it was ephemeral, rushed, ceded it's potensial and the character personalities and graphics were pitiable. I do believe that they can make a better game.
Yes, it's theorised that Talwyn's father is in that dimension along with Angela, so I could imagine Talwyn joining them both. ITN was much better than A4O and FFA, yeah it was short but it reminded me a bit of the future saga just a bit, something IG can easily bring back.

VTNVIVI: What about the same story, but seen from different view points? You could play as ether Ratchet or Clank and see a sightly different story based on who you play as, Similar to Tales of Xillia 1!
Similar to that prequel video I made :) I don't think I could imagine Clank having his own fully playable story, Secret Agent clank was just that... They'd have to make it so Clank actually fits as a standalone character in terms of gameplay and mechanics.

And I'd imagine Clank being the first to realise that some Lombaxes have bad morals, could build a bit of tension between the duo.
Ok if they were to make a Ratchet and Clack game that they find the lambaxes how would you think that would go down, they could reuse Angle Cross, she was in the game once why not bring her back. what if. What if they both find out there're siblings what would they do then if you think really beep in the story, so much can be done.
It's theorised that both Angela and Talwyn's father went there, so I'd imagine them bringing those characters back to the story. If they're siblings, then incest happened in GC.

at 8:37 talking about if Ratchet goes to his race dimension I think Ratchet would be happy to see his race but he missing the one and important thing is his father and I think that his father would be very proud to stop Tachyon and Ratchet purpose has already been filled he vanquish Tachyon and something even the Lombaxes could not do I would say that Kaden the father of Ratchet would be very proud hugging Ratchet soul and said Ratchet you did it Ratchet you did what I could not.

A Crack in Time is my most favourite game in the world, it is the best game a Ratchet and Clank fan can ask for, and I would care less, if Up Your Arsenal is better
