- Chris leads an Australian vet team overseas to help the animal victims of Fiji’s devastating cyclone.
Working with him is his Dad, Graeme, a vet with 42 years experience.
Together they stitch up a horse which has been ripped apart by a piece of flying corrugated iron
roof. Watch out for some interesting family disagreements.
Chris is also invited to an exclusive island resort to treat a cantankerous 170 kg pet pig.

I get people love their pets, but that not so little piggy has no apparent redeeming qualities and looks about ready to provide food for its humans, not the other way around. They gave given her a very good life... 🍽

I guess in a pinch a vet will treat a human. Case in point, when Dr Chris cleaned the bite wound on the pig's owner's hand while he was there to trim the pig's hooves.
I love that we were able to see some footage of their trip, but it's unfortunate that we kept seeing the same footage with bits of other footage dotted in here and there.
That horse is severely underweight, you would think if that horse was “the village’s greatest asset” and essential to their survival, they would keep her in a better condition than starving. Just like people, you should not be able to see ribs sticking out.
I think part of the problem is they are struggling to feed the humans and animals enough, they might just not have quite enough to go around
I actually think the horse has worms, she is too skinny and has a bloated stomach. There does seem to be enough grass to eat.
Exactly what I said. No excuses. If you can’t take care of the animal you use as a slave, don’t have the animal.

The only thing I know of it is it disinfects and cleans out the wound, and some how helps the healing process in other ways.
Similar to how you'd swish with salt water to help get rid of a mouth ulcer.
Sometimes salt water can help with acne, which I found interesting.
My second home is in the Fiji Atoll.

Take her to the vet ASAP, if it is poison, she will most likely die without medical attention
