I'm of the opinion that if there's going to be fighting in the sport, then people need to trained to do it well, and not take unnecessary risks, especially when they're young and trying to stay up in an extremely competitive market. Not at all a rangers fan but I'm glad
The islander "captain Highliner" logo wasn't horrible but the design of the jersey when they introduced it was different and didn't feel like a major hockey team. It was worse than that 3rd that was like Halloween all day long (although I didn't mind it)

I know League was a big time enforcer. Usually, rangers go to Nick Fotiu to learn to fight I thought he was still associated with the team in Hartford. Come to think of it, isn't Tanner Glass in player development? I go to nick fist but why go outside the organization?
Will the Islanders bring back the “Fisherman” logo that was used from 1995 to 1997 beginning in the 2025-26 NHL season?
I think this definitively leaves it with the AHL. Probably the right decision.
@@heliumtrophyagreed. Once relegated to the AHL it will not come back to the NHL. They are appeasing fans by using it in the organization without having to use it in NY.

Rempe could become one of my favorite players if he focuses on his actual job (hockey). I'm a fan of fighting in the sport - cheap shots and dangerous hits (like what Trouba does) is what I have an issue with.
Bridgeport should be the Sound Tigers again. There’s no islands in B’port. There is Long Island Sound and circus owner and former Mayor PT Barnum was from there. They had a great logo. AHL teams do not have to be named after the parent. The Hartford Wolfpack has been successful for 27 years without being the Rangers.

Fighting in hockey is one of the best parts of the sport. Dangerous hits, like the stuff that Trouba does regularly, is the priority to address.

Teams don’t go into each season wanting to win the Presidents’ Trophy, ask the last 11 winners if they’d rather have the Presidents’ Trophy or the Stanley Cup. People only remember Presidents’ Trophy winners if they choke badly in the playoffs (2018-2019 Lightning and the 2022-2023 Bruins).

Nope, it was the 120 point scorer that had a grand total of 4 points the entire playoffs. Panarin is an absolute useless, overpaid loaf. Goodrow (who got traded) had more GOALS than Panarin had points.

It’s a rival junior league that left the Hockey Canada umbrella. The top 5 AJHL teams from Alberta joined mid season last year to piss off hockey Canada even further. Considered a great development league for players interested in college scholarships.

Getting rid of the Sound tigers was a huge mistake I live in Stratford going to B islanders games it’s sad empty. Then you can drive in hour to Springfield and a 8k sell out every night

The AHL has resorted to scheduling the Hartford Wolfpack (New York Rangers) only on Wednesday nights just to get people (read HWP fans) in the building on those nights. Otherwise they can’t draw flies. They ticked off a lot of fans by stripping that team of its identity.

Laracque training Rempe ??? Poor Rempe … I still have bitter memories of when Laracque signed with the Canadiens and then refused to fight anyone meaningful… he was a joke during his tenure in Montreal

Rempe needs to work on lots of other things before thinking he needs to work on his fighting. Maybe if he actually worked on his other skills he could get more minutes and not be a liability every time he steps on the ice. But that’s just wishful thinking.
Maybe he's doing both over the off season? The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Dude has large frame, size, strenght. If he just improved on his overall play skating, shooting, passing, checking he would get more minutes and be more useful. Most of the 5'10 skilled forwards would love to have Rempe's size.

Thats not true. He literally took over the hockey world with all of hockey media (TSN, Hockey Network, Sportsnet etc.) talking about him following his debut, leading through that first month he was in the league up until the Devils and Rangers line brawl and then was talked about a week after that.
Now, you can not like him, but saying no one gives a shit about Rempe outside of NY, is just not true.
