    I'm always tempted to get an AXS dropper but biggest benefit to me is not having to deal with internal routing when I do the initial setup. I've had One Up and PNW droppers and they've been great so getting an axs dropper is just not worth the additional cost to me like getting an AXS groupset is.
    When it comes to swapping the seatpost between bikes, it is easy to move the seatpost between them, but the controller requires you to take off the grip and possibly the brake lever to slide it out unless you get a clamp for each bike, then it's just not worth the time it takes when a regular dropper is already good to go.

    • @EvansMTBSaga
      @EvansMTBSaga  Před 2 lety

      The dropper remote can unbolt from the clamp, and you'd need another clamp on the other bike. But I see what you're saying. I've swapped the dropper between bikes a few times now, but I think I'll ultimately not keep the Reverb AXS because I have similar feelings

If it's grease, apply as little as you can, just to stop it from binding, otherwise your seat will rotate and ask for more clamp force which can damage clamp, frame or even seat post. Droppers are weird, as the oneup is in reality the best one on the market for practical use, lots of travel options, low stack, low insert and good actuation/reliable.
    the AXS Rockshox is very good performance wise and you get to remove a cable, but for me put it in this perspective: oneup 240 dropper, $320NZD. they last years with rebuilds and bigger shims available for play with one downside of a cable vs the RS AXS, max 170mm travel, battery $1500nzd... two upsides, performs best on market and no cable.

    Dude I had a barspin project for a yt capra later and I really wanted to keed the kashima coat on all the suspension & dropper so I am wondering if I can dye the dropper stanchion of a reverb with the help of specialist or put reverb hardware on that stock fox transfer. Got any suggestions except bruh it doesn’t matter the color a dropper stanchion dude.
    Yeah Im that same saga squad geek about your shock swap vid!
    Ps rip everyone that its name is Chad

      @EvansMTBSaga  Před 2 lety +1

      I think dyeing it would be very difficult and affect performance. And retrofitting a Fox transfer wouldnt work because the upper seat post is what carries the battery and that's what you'd be swapping. Sorry I couldn't be of more help and that sounds like a fun project

      @@EvansMTBSaga Thanks for the answer. I did research and you can actually take off the reverb electronic hardware and dye it. But as we know it will affect performance... perhaps I found a brand making moto stanchions! I asked them if maybe they could anodize the stanchions with their own anodizing baths and techniques from a good old al pipe with the same dimensions and holes of the reverb’s stanchion but shave 1mm off for the paint clearance. That’d be sick!
