@@Josh.Jordan Without the lockout 6th gear and reverse are stupid close together, it wouldn't even be a matter of stupidity it'd just be an accident. That plus the 15+ WRX already has a pretty weird/clunky transmission, could absolutely see it happening
Did you ever get this issue sorted out? This isn't something that should be normally happening. The reverse lockout collar should be dropping when you remove the car from reverse.
Nathan Simeon Interesting! Thanks for the response. We had someone on NASIOC link us this video. It ended up looking like more of a knob issue rather than a shifter issue! Enjoy your shifter and thanks for choosing Boomba!
You dont realy need that. Just change your shifitng technique and i mean specificly way you move the shift lever. Slap-push it in place instead of grabbing and moving it in each gear. It snaps in a very satisfying way with technique
or a brass shifter bushing. I just put one on mine a few days ago, feels crispy. I've you've ever driven any Mazda manual, or Honda, feels very similar to that. MUCH better.
It has no slop its just a bit rubbery feeling if you push it the wrong way in the to the bottom of each "gate" With better technique you will feel much better dont grab it and fighet it withe entire arm motion....slap it into gears pushing it with you fingers from opposite side from gear you push it into. It will snap nicely into it in much more satisying way.
Still looks sooooo long 😯
Dude, your reverse lockout didn't return to its unlocked position!
Yep that's a shattered trans waiting to happen
@@ErectileSceptile no its not lol
@@Josh.Jordan Uh then tell me what do you think happens when you shift into reverse going 70 MPH?
@@ErectileSceptile you know how stupid you would have to be to do that on a 6 speed

It’s throws are as long as my stock E90 6 speed! I’m doing a short shifter soon and I know it ain’t gonna be that bad!

The 15 WRX has a short throw already. It’s not the length of the shifter but the distance between gears

Everything about this video just looks wrong
Just looks like an ordinary shifter to me
I installed mines and i be having issues with going into third
Shits like a truck shifter?
How do not get any slop? Each shift seems to be very tight and smooth.
try a shifter plate

depends on the gearbox on most awd and all rwd. on fwd or east west awd boxes itll be the linkages.
It's just a shifter stop. not that expensive easy to install as well

How do you like it?
I love it. One of my favorite mods
You’re so long
