  • Shift stop is amazing😁. Although I dont know how I feel about the plastic reverse lock out assembly rubbing on the aluminum shift stop.👀 STI Short Shifter is a slight improvement from stock but it is noticeable! 👌👌 I recommend both 🥲🤌

    Just ordered my billet works short throw and shift stop. I can’t wait to install it. Stock feels like I’m driving a truck😂

      How long that take to ship out? Ordered mine about a week ago. Paid for the one day delivery and everything lol. And it’s still not been shipped out.

    I have a 22 premium that came with an sti short throw... I cant spot the difference between the short throw vs stock. makes me wonder if they forgot to install it at the factory.

      Does it have a rattle from the reverse lock out hitting the shift rod?? If so it's the STI shifter alright 😅. It's a very small difference but there is a difference. I put the stock one back because it doesn't make that annoying click noise and it basically feels the same. SMH Subaru

    Looks like the sti oem shifter lets the shift knob sit at stock height huh?

    My 22 came with the sti sts and to me the throws are still way too long.

    • @TEVIDEOS
      @TEVIDEOS  Před rokem +1

      Yeah honestly I swapped back to the OEM shifter and the throw feels the same. The accessory STI shifter I got has play between the rod and reverse lockout and caused an annoying click against the Perrin shift stop. I recommend the Cobb shift stop over any aluminum one!

    Where do you buy this? Pretty simple to install for a novice?

    • @TEVIDEOS
      @TEVIDEOS  Před 2 lety

      I would recommend the COBB shift stop over this one! You can buy it on the COBB website 👌 easy install other than you need to mess with it a while to get it just right. Def some tightening and loosening over and over till it feels right 👌👌

      @@TEVIDEOS why the cobb over perrin?

    • @TEVIDEOS
      @TEVIDEOS  Před 2 lety +1

      The contact surface is a lot more than the Perrin or any other aluminum one. Also with the Cobb one you have plastic rubbing against plastic like the stock shift stop for the reverse versus the plastic reverse lock out mechanism rubbing against aluminum. I only used the Perrin one for 2 weeks and I noticed wear on the plastic reverse mechanism. The Cobb one I lubricated in between the contact surfaces and it feels 😗👌 Perfect. Smooth and quite how it should be 👍

    Hey. Which shifter stop did you get? One designed for the short shifter or a normal one?

    • @TEVIDEOS
      @TEVIDEOS  Před 2 lety

      I got the one designed for the short shifter 👌
      I installed an oem STI short shifter prior to the shift stop.
      Honestly I think both work with either shifter. The oem shifter difference compared to the STI shifter is very small. The plastic reverse mechanism is what the shift stop makes contact with. The STI shifter plastic reverse mechanism is angled a little differently and the pivot point is slightly lower but thats about it.

    What do you mean by short throw cause my 2018 Sti went from a idk 5 inch shift distance to like 2-3 inches after I installed a Cobb short throw gated shifter

    • @TEVIDEOS
      @TEVIDEOS  Před rokem

      Yeah the STI short throw is barely a difference between the OEM WRX stick shift. Went back to stock. Ill get a Cobb one soon 😗👍

    • @TEVIDEOS
      @TEVIDEOS  Před rokem

      It basically is.. A very small change in the rods pivot point compared to the O#M shifter. Not worth it. I re-installed the OEM shifter because the STI short throw also makes a click/tap noise when going into 1st or 2nd due to greater play between rod and reverse lockout. If you want a short throw I'd go with Cobb or another after market shifter 😗👌
