- In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew speaks with Tim Matthews of Autel about the Evo 2, introduced at the CES 2020 show in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are three models in the Evo 2 series: the base-level Evo 2, which incorporates an 8K video sensor; the Evo 2 Pro, which includes a one-inch sensor capable of capturing 20 megapixel stills and 6K video, and also incorporates an adjustable aperture from F 2.8 to F 11; and, the Evo 2 Dual, which incorporates the same 8K sensor as the base model, as well as FLIR thermal imaging core with a resolution up to 640x512 pixels. Different cameras can be mounted on the same aircraft, so there is no need to purchase multiple drones for different imaging payloads. The aircraft itself incorporates a total of 12 cameras for omnidirectional collision avoidance. The aircraft is powered by an 7,100 mAH battery that fits fully inside the airframe, and can power the aircraft for up to 40 minutes of flight.

1:36 "it's your device it's your tool , you should be able to do whatever you want with it" that right there..... is priceless! Bye bye DJI ...Hello Evo2 Pro.
Exactly what I thought. I'm like wait for the new mavic or just go another rout. I love my dji mavic pro and mini. But this bad boy is a no brainer for myself. I can't wait for mine to get here. I'm going the pro 6k.
i hope Autel is sensitive to this and does not let their customers down on this...being responsive to firmware and camera issues, and will listen to what the pilot backchannels are gathering in terms of intelligent modes and features. If Autel can do this, this can almost guarantee DJI pilots jumping ship as well as new operators selecting Autel Evos.
ROTFLMFAO yep buy that drone so you can violate the law. Smart move morons, besides how many of you have a $8000 Samsung 8K TV? Oh yeah NONE OF YOU TOY PILOTS nor do you have the $5000 computer to render video in a reasonable time frame.
Laughable at best, pitiful at worst. Suckers Autel is a joke and always will be. They treated us X-Star owners like shit they will treat you the same. BTW how much of what they showed over 18 months ago did they ever release? A multi battery charging hub is all, LOL fools.
The 640 thermal !! Finally !!
I wonder how much it will cost
DAVID TURCZAK if I had to guess $5-$6k
Michael P wow I’ll wait. LOL
@@Michaeldpress14 You wish 5-6k - twice as much..
The go to drone for SAR missions! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great review what is the dynamic range on the Pro 2?
My next logical question is how does obstacle avoidance compare to the Skydio 2 OA? Also, why wasn't the price for the thermal mentioned?
have FLIR confirmed the boson WILL be upgradeable on this unit for radiometry when available for the Boson ??
Nice glad I waited
What size lens comes on the 640 thermal camera ?
Looking fantastic, Autel.
Nice to hear an interview with two people who really know what their talking about, no BS. An awesome looking drone. I can't wait to see the real world reviews of the 1 inch version. Great job, Autel.
Looks very promising!
I wonder what speed it does. 40 or 50 kph ?
That flight shirt or jacket is just too cool! 👍😎
What kind of zoom do these have?
Oh dear! I can't wait for you to get your new ORANGE toy!!!! I am hopeful you get all three cameras as I really value your opinion!
That’s one nice drone!
Great drone
Try to get one 🙌
Cheers
Way to go Autel, team orange for sure! I’m eager to get my hands on this EVO2!
A wiesz może gdzie jest Helenę Fischer!? Hë
When is this thing being launched for sale? I'm tired of checking daily.
I have 2 questions, one is can it fly over water? I have an airboat and want to make videos for people I take for rides. I have the SkyDio on order but since I have found out they won't fly over water. The next question is where are they made?
Ich möchte die EVO 2 Pro so schnell wie möglich, wann kann man diese in Deutschland kaufen?
Absolutely love it! Thanks Autel! My first Autel is my favorite drone....I hope to buy this one soon.
Very bold statement callin this best folding drone....especially without testing it first
Can it follow you uphill
I'm very Interesting this...
What about Philippines... >>>Free-Shipping?
so on all 3 evo 2 models you can up grade your camera?
LOL uh no.
Very nice, whoops I just bought the evo 1 after having used the Platinum mav1 2yrs. Those sensors would be great improvement.
I don't see any FPS specs. Perhaps I missed that on their website. Any info?
8K 24, 25FPS 6K 24, 25, 30FPS...
How much was the duel
I love my Evo.I need my evoII
I need one
What type of shutter is on the 6k camera?
rolling like all the toy drones
Will Autel be shipping to destinations out of the USA.
I would also like to know this too. Will they ship to the U.K.
To answer my own question, just found out that Autel do not have CE Certification for the U.K. I hope they sort that out.
wow some kit
Need a zoom camera
He didn’t say how much for the thermal version
Its like 10 g's 😆
Finally, DJI can chill on the abuse train now
I never get notices for your new videos.
Quantos Money?
I own EVO. But, Im a bit disappointed at the same design concerning the remote. I will be purchasing one though! 😂... I remember Tim was the first guy I ever spoke with after I receive my XSP and flew it into a tree... outstanding guy!
Good interview, just wish there was more clarity from Autel if this drone will be able to comply with remote ID. Something like ABS-B or the capacity to add it as a module. This is a better option than DJI overall, but no one wants a $1500-2000 paperweight in 3 years.
In 3 or 4 years when remote ID is implemented this will be old tech anyway. Who flies the same airframe for 4 years?
It would not be compatible with remote ID since they have not settled on the tech they plan on using for it yet. Like others have said it will be a few years out and this drone will be old tech by then.
@@willyjimmy8881 I know a lot of pilots still flying 3 or 4 year old tech. When you invest $2k in something it's nice if it last a few years.
I think the majority of people buying this drone expect to be able to use it for more than 3 years. Especially for the price and high end specs.
@@JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel while that is true they still cannot add remote ID into it since they have not finalized the law or decided on a transmission protocol for remote ID yet.
Im gonna Sell my Mavic Pro and get the Pro 6k. Im really digging this new offering. I had an Xstar Premium and I no longer own it. I would kill to have it back. That was my favorite drone of all time. It shot significantly better content than my Mavic Pro does.
Eric Owens I have a Xstar, I'm willing to sell.
Eric Owens call me 423.702.0936
My x-star premium is currently at the Autel facility for a new gimbal. 350$ wonder what repair will be on the evo2 lol I’ve thought about selling mine also.
Do we have a replacement of China product?
Nope Autel is chinese front company and the drones are made in Shenzhen like all the others
I want the thermal one , NOW!
wait for price..
@@izoyt I dought it will be as bad as we all may think, remember this is not a low resolution duo like on a mavic.so as long as they keep it around the 2-3k range it will be a great buy.
@@carrboro_chapelhillfpv2442 maybe, but i remember buying flir ir kamera (i think its be50 model) with something like 240x160 pix for 6 grand few years ago.
Carrboro_Chapelhill Fpv the 640 thermal camera is $5000 alone lol
Very, very impressed with the Autel Evo 2. With the camera and its 12 sensors plus flight time I think this will finally give DJI a run for the money. Once again, excellent information for us drone users. Thank you for your information regarding this very cool drone. 👍
I love this drone but I do not plan on purchasing another one for awhile and 1500 with taxes when remote ID is implemented into our hobby in a few years I may not be able fly it except in an area like the RC people do their stuff....
Dang the 50+% price increase.
Would 8k with a small sensor be any better than 4k with a 1 inch sensor.... I'm looking for good imagine quality with good ability to film sunsets..
No and you can't afford the computer and monitor to work with 8K. People that can don't fly $1899 toy drones.
Might be next time try different colors like black/gray/red/violet/and so on and price might be reduce
Nice interview. Drone costs are high in the 1500-2000 range. You get a lot for your money. Binocular computer vision...3D. I usually don't like cameras that hand down way under the craft. This model seems to have it tucked in well.
The double with FLIR camera ALONE is $1000! That is dirt cheap compared to others. 2k to start a home inspection business.
3D? ROTFLMFAO there is no 3D on an Autel.
Although I’m sure we aren’t the intended customer base , the 640 thermal will sell like crazy amongst the southern hog hunters .
Night hunting for pigs with thermals has become a big industry & in Texas we have a huge hog problem .
Before this offering from Autel the best solution was the inspire with zenmuse xt @ over $10k . I’m hoping the 640 version will be $5k or less .
Looks like Mavic Pro 2 in orange.
Excellent just amazed by autel.. So glad to say bye bye to dji and there flight restrictions
Best drone "Ever" is one you can buy today. It will be month before user can get a E2 Pro 6k; by then the M3 will probably be out. Hard to know what the best ever will be by then.
Need 1hr in flight and 10k range in vertical and horizontal range upgraded camera including zoom in autel evo 2 dual
Yep totally illegal flight moron. FAA is gonna love you toy pilots as they crack down more and more.
silbay come now, would you buy a car or motorcycle with a speed limiter set at 70 mph for the USA? or have you car geofenced so a computer limits where you can drive?
A couple weeks ago I sold a Mavic Pro I had sitting around collecting dust in preparation for the purchase of an Autel Evo 2. I sold the DJI specifically because like most drone pilots I’m so sick and tired of the geo fencing bull shit that I wish instead of selling it I could have shoved it up and deep inside someone’s ass at DJI. I was also afraid the Evo 2 was going to be $2000 or + so when I found out through another source that it’s $1495 for the model I want I was flipping happy as hell! I can’t wait!!! Bye, bye, DJI (forever).
Yeah but they sell the guy too? rs
Does this drone still run off WiFi. If so the are behind. Also what is the cost of the other cameras. I would like to see 40 minutes of flying time lololol
Run off wifi? No. I would guess about 35 minutes of actual flight time with enough reserve to get home and land
Jonathan Kendall
What does this drone run off? Since its not WiFi?
@@TheDronzDr RF 2.4 like the evo 1. It's on their website
Jonathan Kendall
So this new Drone runs off Wi-Fi correct
@@TheDronzDr time to do your own research and make your own conclusions. Good luck!
Все также как и высадка на луну!!!
I am buying ten for each room in my house. Including bathrooms
Very well explained 👍
Autel EVO II Dual is amazing with 640x512 Thermal for emergency services😀
Hopefully they'll come out with a Fast Charger for drone batteries that'll Charge at least 4 batteries "simultaneously/at-the-same-time" then Autel Evo 2 series will be a true game changer, that DJI will have to play catch-up with in Mavic 3 Series🤪
When will you have to start registering them under the new Gov't regulations?
US? You will have to register this. I think its any drone over .55 pounds
Orange squad
495... extra batery 490...
He said fourteen ninety five = 1495
My Mavic can hear me watching this video from across my office...I think I see a bead of sweat on its brow xD Wished it worked w/ Litchi tho.
Evo II Pro will have an estimated price of about $1795 👋🏿🤑👍🏿
LOL we know better now don't we. BTW love those $199 batteries if you can find them. Shades of the old X-Star battery availability
Autel evild
Still gonna buy dji mavic 2 pro 🤷🏻♂️🤣
The evo.pro 2 and mavic pro 2 are about a hundred dollars difference for a better drone
@@Flores828 Evo2's huge advantage is the ability to swap cameras.

Downvoted this video for the title. I know it’s an exciting product, but come on...
The drone is ugly AF, I could've designed something better than that with the correct LED lights placement ( white/green in the front and red in the back) like a car foo! Btw, what happened to the under 250g version? Lame👎
*Truth is, Dji as a 🇨🇳 brand has recently lost significant favor with the US drone community and basically finished itself by aligning with the stringent new dictatorial remote ID mandates of the FAA. While Autel is busy creating new fans with its Evo platform, Dji has a new plethora of fans-turned-enemies. In a couple of years, nobody will be able to use their Dji's without preauthorized FAA permission while Autel Evo owners will still be productive, freely using and enjoying their purchased aircraft as intended.* 🗽🇺🇸
Yes, and FREEDOM always wins!
@@moodberry ROTFLMFAO so does $200K fines from the FAA for violation of no fly zones with your Autel, moron
