Hiking Heart Bar Peak & Peak 8868, San Bernardino NF, CA.
On a lonely stretch of highway between Redlands and Big Bear, Highway 38 passes along the base of Heart Bar Peak. Where Forest Road 1N38 meets the highway, the hike begins. As is typically my case, the highest peak gets climbed first (unless I need to cross over the lower peak on the way). After reaching the Heart Bar Peak junction, I continued on the road to Peak 8868. The road gets excessively rocky along the way. I had to leave the road to reach the summit of Peak 8868. On the way back, I cut over to Heart Bar Peak on its access trail. This is a great two for one peak climbing hike, which I was able to fit in before the summer heat blasted the region later.

Been out there a couple of times but haven't done Peak 8868...although, did Heart Bar Peak on snowshoes one time.

Sounds like fun. I have literally no snowshoeing experience.
