I like the line. The packaging is great because it doesn't encourage you to keep the figure unopened but also encourages you to keep it as it's own collectible.
I think the thing that pisses me off, is that hasbro is re-releasing Firestar in a three pack and did update her sculpt to have pinless joints and double elbows but didnt for Jean, Storm, Jubliee or Mystique. It really s confusing since these characters def need that treatment

Love this line so far despite the criticism it's received due to the pictures on the box not being the same as the actual figure. The line gives collectors like me who missed out the first time round to pick up these X-Men figures and with that lovely animated nostalgic look to them, really brings back the childhood memories. My only concern is how far they will go with the line. I assume we will get the main team and the big villains. But for characters that were maybe in only a few episodes like Bishop, the brotherhood will we get these. Otherwise I'd have to pick up the existing ones available so I don't miss out to add them to my collection. So just some sort of acknowledgement we will probably get them would put my mind at rest lol. Great review bro

Yeah it’s definitely would’ve been nice to get what’s on the back of the box but I knew what it was. However that doesn’t mean everybody keeps up with toy news and are privy to information beforehand so it’s definitely false advertising if you take away knowledge of the product.

Mine came with 2 left feet. Contacted Hasbro for a replacement. This is that garbage that we also experience in the stores because of the figures being hidden with the new packaging.
Nope. It means they made a render of what should of been in the box. The fact that render was made shows they could of gave everyone that figure, but being current penny pinching hasbro they gave a repaint.
I get that they didn't lie but if I got this on retail, and got it because I thought it was a updated version because I only seen the box I would be pretty pissed, that said, they have done that many many times, specially in renders, I'm surprised they don't have that *pictures may vary from product* on the boxes yet.
I do believe that errors are allowed to happen and are bound to happen. With this...I don't see it being a really huge issue. With Gorr...that is kind of a crappy and the same with Terrax...they really need to vet their graphic team a little more. I'm on the fence with this...I love the Walgreens one but the hair on this is def the way I remember her more. Good review as usual.
I didn't get the original version of Mystique and the movie version is okay, but not really my favorite depiction of the character, so this version is fine for me 💁♂️ I totally agree with all of the criticisms, but they're more of a minor annoyance than an issue that would prevent me from purchasing this figure.
Another Mystique release possibly in the retro carded packaging with double jointed elbows and pinless joints like the render would be something I would be interested in buying.
I'm on the fence with this one as it's currently sitting in my cart on Hasbro Pulse. On one hand I need Mystique for my Brotherhood of Evil Mutants on that other it's $38 bucks. The Walgreens exclusive is insane on the secondary market.

I bought Wolverine. The frame accessory and cool box pushed me over. Also bought the Storm for the head. Not buying anything else. They are okay. The cell shading gimmick doesn’t really appeal to me as it has been executed here. The boxes are a nice touch but not enough to buy the whole wave.
Nice review! The VHS line is mostly for folks who missed the original versions of the characters at a reasonable price. Not feeling this Mystique. While the hair is nice, I feel like the skin is too gray, should have been a bit more blue.
I feel like this line should have been a homerun sense many collectors really wanted xmen animated series figures and its just been ok except for wolverine. This line should have been as good as the spiderman animated series line.
The only thing that consistently grabs me about this line is the packaging. Aside from Wolverine, all the figures just seem… off. (And it’s not the cell shading, which I don’t like.)

It's so they can release these repaints in a set that people want. Then upgrade them slightly and sell them again.
Not everybody pays attention or tracks down promo pics beforehand. It's the super collectors like you that see everything 5 or 6 waves in advance.

I missed the Walgreens one so I did order her. I have a couple of older versions of Mystique.
I wish this had been a retro card release instead of the cel shaded vhs line but I need a Mystique so this will have to do.

I only got Morph from the VHS line because, for sure, they will have figures from the new show.

You literally said the figure was gummy and kind of crap. Definitely makes me want to buy one now. Biggest problem facing Hasbro is gummy figures.
When I bought my Mystic, it was 15/20$ the new one is 27$ such a ripe off for some new paint and some accessory.
