Low voltage lighting switch replacement idea

  • Prototype concept for a flush surface switch to replace the old switches found in the 60s vintage GE 24VAC low voltage switching system.
    Made of 2 3D printed parts and one electronic component
    - the main switch cover plate with the incorporated switch paddle
    - a switch holder that clips onto the surface plate
    - a typical PCB/surface mount microswitch
    The retainer clip has enough perimeter to accommodate different sized microswitches. The switch would be soldered to wire leads that feed through the switch clip before clipping to the cover, then attached to the main control wires.

    I see your recessed the letters.. How do you plan to paint/fill it. Have that problem myself

      I haven't thought about it. I wasn't considering highlighting the letters. I'm sure my wife would say it would be to visually "loud" if I did. But you could use a syringe to infill the letter embossing with a bit of paint if you wanted to.
