Austin pulling out his gospel roots is so much fun to hear. He used to tour as a child during summer breaks with his dad's gospel group. Between that and his musical theater education, he's just so extra.

Austin was BORN to perform in front of live audiences! All the guys love it, but Austin is the one who completely lights up on stage & really thrives on the crowd interaction & energy.

I love this rendition of My Church. At 5:15 you can actually see Chance and Tim passing the base line back and forth so they cang each sing their part (and they don’t skip a beat)

Well...Home Free can take ya to Church can't they. Tim and Chance were back and forth on the bass, it was so good. They all work so well together. Thanks for a great reaction.
Tim does have that country voice, Chance and Austin have the accent so they sound country (especially when Austin yodels) but can do other things like pop as well, and both Austin and Rob can "go to church" with their vocals, and Rob and Austin too can do the soulful, R&B singing, so all of them together just makes a great group that can do about anything all they have to do is put the right singer up front and it's like magic.
Hallelujah! These guys just nail it every time. Chance, the unseen secret weapon. He frees Tim from the bass when he is doing something else. Not only their singing they are just likeable guys and their harmonies are so free of "rub" all of them sing so clean their voices fit together so seamlessly.

I agree this is one my favorites and i am not a country person except when home free is involved. Great highs from Austin and lows from Tim. Adam is amazing as usual. Chance has a few solos and holds the baseline. Rob’s amazing voice holds the middle and really shapes their sound more than most realize. Love these guys.
Oh and Tim can add and remove that country twang. Listen to green sleeves with Peter Hollens it shows off both his highs and lows from one line to the next.
Chance and Tim switch off, Tim goes to Tenor while Chance sings bass in Mayday..Some Girls Do highlights both of their bass abilities nicely. Hillbilly Bone shows it off as well. Checkout Children Go Where I Send Thee (Both the original recorded with Kenny Rogers AND the live versions (Best ones I saw were from a London show/ Acapella Festival where CHANCE takes Kenny Rogers' part for the song and kills it. It really is amazing how many octaves each member of Home Free can cover.(Chance's vocal instrument ability is awesome too..the song that came on after this video..Can't Stop The Feeling..you won't believe it til ya see it! Enjoying watching you become as enamored with Home Free as the rest of us that fell down this rabbithole.
I disappeared down the rabbit hole about two years ago and haven't looked back- really looking forward to seeing them live in November (fingers crossed it doesn't get pushed again) I know its been recommended but for a completely different thing give Helplessly Hoping a shot- its blessed stunning! Yep, that is Chance on the bass line! This is the 1st vid with Chance on bass after he came aboard .... truly opened a whole new smorgasbord for sound, blends, combinations, harmonies. And yes, many don't realize but Rob is an absolute beast ... He's the "Key" of the group - the universal joint that makes it all work! With the addition of Chance and his abilities (which aren't realized either) ... it's freed-up Rob too :) ........... And PROTEST THAT "Blue Ain't Your Color" (The "industry" is blocking [along with some help from platforms] stuff they have no right to)

This is a killer cover
Percussive bass adds so much to a capella groups on top of the beat boxer. And with Adam Chance and Tim trading off, it keeps that fullness, while each of them has the chance to step forward to take that lead for a minute. Love it. (as much as I love watching you enjoy it!)
Ya know, early on after thinkin one of them was the "secret weapon" I saw another one that way, then another, then.....wait a damn minute, they're ALL secret weapons! Better yet, it ain't no secret! Yeah, that's a perfect combo of badassmumblefunkers. You badass too, you knowit.

I learned in an interview that Austin was singing with his father's gospel quartet when he was 6 or 7 years old. When he was in college in a musical program (on a full scholarship) he tried for years to 'nullify' his accent. When he joined Home Free they told him to stop trying.
