Getting rid of the stock exhaust on my '07 5.9 Cummins and fabricating a 5" straight pipe with an axle dump tailpipe

5" exhaust prices are now through the roof. last 5" cummins exhaust I bought (Diamond Eye) was like 390usd. Now, they're like 5-600... it's insane. Also, keep an eye out for an 06-07 3500 aluminum 1pc driveshaft, and get rid of the carrier bearing ;)

Yeah it’s insane how much everything has gone up in cost, couldn’t believe it when I started looking around for material. Thanks for the pointer, I’ll definitely keep an eye out for one

what size tires do you have is it leveled

315/70r17 and yes it’s leveled

Do you recommend taking the cat and muffler out or just the muffler for best sound?

Kinda depends how loud you want it, my 5” straight pipe is definitely loud. If you are just using your stock piping you could just start by taking out the muffler and replacing with a straight piece and see how you like it. Then if it’s not loud enough take out the cat
