    I was able to replicate everything except when I activate the slide in macro, the shape returns back to its original size, but it remained at the position it extended to when the slide out macro was enabled.

    ------------ After Slide out macro

      HI and thanks very much. You can play with the properties "Size but don't move with cells" or "Don't Move or Size with cells" based on the location of your menu, one of these options should solve your issue. If not you can also set the Left positional based on a certain column within VBA,

      Me.MinAll.Visible = true
      And for the minAll you can add the opposite

    Hi Randy. I am doing some coding using Excel 2019. I have run into a particular compiling error. The example is "Filename = ThisWorkbook.path & "\Database.xlsm"
    , with the compile problem relating to the semi-colon, in this case at the end of "&". Are you able to identify a solution please? I have experienced the very same problem with the similar coding that includes a semi-colon in one of your other applications. Otherwise I am learning something new from your Excel applications everyday. Thanks heaps

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  Před 4 lety

      Hi Stephan, If you are on a PC (not a Mac) the path should be Filename = ThisWorkbook.path & "\Database.xlsm"
      If you are on a Mac then the file path is different and you can learn more about that here: www.rondebruin.nl/mac/section3.htm
      Thanks so much for your comment.

      Thank you for the information. I use a PC. While I did not associate the particular coding with Excel on a Mac, I was eventually able to work out "amp" probably related to "ampersand" - hence "&". By removing the word "amp", I was quickly able to eliminate the compiling error. Thank you again. Onto the next challenge!

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  Před 5 lety

      Hi Eugene, thanks for your comment. The hover should work regardless of the cell its over. You will want to make sure the shape control is big enough so that the mouse hover is over the top of it and also make sure the shape control that hides it, is out of the way a bit. I downloaded the file it looks awesome by the way, however, when I move the cursor from one icon to another, it does not pop out right away or it pops out when I move to the next. The only way I found to get it to work properly is by reducing the "MinAll" square, but then I have to move the cursor out of the square and then back in, in order for it to minimize the popped out button, is there any way to fix this in the code?? Am I the only one experiencing this?

    • @ExcelForFreelancers
      @ExcelForFreelancers  Před 4 lety

      Hi Javier thanks for your comment. The solution would be to make sure there is enough spacing between the button so the user has time to hover over and open/close the menu. You can also write code to close the menus on selection change of any cell in the sheet. I hope this helps and thanks.

    • @gorflunk
      @gorflunk Před 2 lety

      2 things: 1) Your "hover" shapes are too large and are overlapping each other causing the code to operate erratically. Go into Designer Mode, open the Selection Pane and select one of the Hover shapes, resize it so it is the exact same width as the button it is associated with when the button is extracted (largest size) but only as tall as the button. 2) In the Selection Pane move that Hover shape in the list so it is below the button and icon it is associated with. Do these 2 things with the remaining Hover shapes. I placed all of my hover shapes at the bottom of the list in my Selection Pane. Make sure the MinAll shape is all the way at the very bottom of the list in the Selection Pane. Turn off Designer Mode. Enjoy!

      The browser based Office 365 does not handle macros. You would want to use any Excel Application that allows for macros.
      Thanks for your comment.

      it's not on the browser based excel, i use the standalone desktop version and allow the macro's.

      erendiz79 If macros are enabled I'm not sure what the issue could be. Unfortunately I don't have that version I could test on. Perhaps someone in our Excel for Freelancers Group could shed some light on it if you post the question. bit.ly/groupexcel

      Hi for sure it is not click bait. Sometimes emails go to spam so that can happen. I also offer facebook messages in which you can download the workbook directly from your messenger on most newer videos. Please download the file directly from this link (no email required) here: bit.ly/SlideOutMenu_WkBk
      I can assure you that I do want to get this workbook in your hands. Thanks for your patience and please feel free to email me should you have any questions Randy@ExcelForFreelancers.com
