You're welcome. It's an absolute pleasure!
Thank you for this content it's very helpful. I tried to go onto Amazon kdp and I tried to find a template but it's asking me to upload my book cover and other stuff also and I haven't make a book cover I am still working on my manuscript. I wondering what am I doing wrong so I can upload a template on canva.
I am trying to get a couple of books illustrated. I love this concept. I'm trying to visualize how you do characters and then position them around furniture. So if I was doing a mother-daughter is a kitchen, how would I draw the kid sitting at the table. I might be able to design a kitchen, but the people escape me. Or if I got a character drawn, how do I make it change positions? That doesn't seem to be the kind of book you write. Any thoughts? Thanks
I would say look for an illustrator somewhere for cheap or just use what you have now I’m sure it will be great good luck
I need help creating the cover. Do you create two separate pages? One at the beginning and one at the end? Or add the size of two pages and create one.
When uploading info to kdp, do you acknowledge Canva as the illustrator or yourself?
Hey, nice video! So with the Pro version of Canva you have the copyright to put it in your book and publish with no legal problems? Thanks.
Thank you. And yes! You can use Canva images in your books and publications with no legal problems. 😊
@@ItsAshaMac Great. Thanks!
Hi and thanks so much for all of your helpful content. I am in the process of trying to upload my PDF file that I created using Canva and dropping it into Lulu. I keep coming up with error messages regarding the trim and transparencies. Have you ever run into this issue with KDP? Thank you!
Yes this is a common issue with KDP. Now I'm unfamiliar with Lulu but KDP will give you exact dimensions needed in the error message.
@@ItsAshaMac Okay thank you!
This video was so helpful...I am in the process of trying to create 4 children's books and I illustrated them all, but when I went to publish them, they said the illustrations were not very good. I do have a question about the images you use from Canva...are the images under copyright? I don't want to use the images, and someone hits me with a copyright suit. Thanks again for the video.
Canva images are free to use for commercial use. If you google something like "Canva image rights" or something of that nature, they spell it out for you. I usually make sure to use the pro images just to be extra safe. But the free ones are ok to use as well.
@@ItsAshaMac OMG thank you sooooo much...you are a GOD-send!!!!!!
Good morning Asha. I have one question. What size should a 8x11 inch with bleed interior page sizes should be that is my problem.
I just published my first children's book last week. I am in the tech field and am a former freelance writer, so I have oodles of experience with publishing tools.
Never in my life did I have so much trouble with the bleed! Got 2 rejection letters and decided to remove the bleed option - published on first try. I read many people say bleed is not for newbies - so just know that goin' in.
Good luck!

It can be a little tricky to guess exactly how much bleed to add. Your best bet would to be to just add .025 on both the width and the height (this keeps you from having to make deep adjustments to the interior) and the uploading it.
When you look at it in the preview it will tell you exactly how much bleed to add in red on the lefthand side of the window.
Other than that you can use the interior templates on KDP but they always confuse me. That's why I do it the way I've described above.
Sorry I couldn't be more clear. I hope this helps!
@@ItsAshaMac that is so true. Thanks.
Thank you soooooooo much 👌👍👏👏👏👏
Please what is the size of this book
It's my pleasure. You're very welcome.
What is the size of the book?
How much pixel size you have use for the page can u tell
300 pixels per inch. The amount will depend on your project size.
Do you have Insta?or fb i can message u about business ?
