Hearing your comment about the onions tearing you up...I decided to tell you about my important kitchen tool....a small fan!! When I cut up onions i simply have the fan blowing across the area and no tears!!!!
Well, that does it! Its gotten to the point that whenever I see your latest video pop up, I don't know if I should smile, or cry. Just kidding. "Every" dish you make I want and I want it like now! A lot of your recipes that start with meat and onions in the skillet, well, we could stop right there and I'll eat that. The smell of meat and onions in a skillet is awesome by itself. Sheila you are doing a great job carrying on Red's tradition. Sorry for your loss. I had an idea...maybe some flashback favorites of Red cooking and a modern take by you two cooking? I know he sometimes customized dishes to suit you and always praised his camera girl. I thought that a nice touch of Red and why I sub'd a long time ago. Took a short break watching and did this dish, absolutely delish!
I made this it's so easy. I added low Sodium Beef Broth instead of the Water, I grated my cheeses and also added fresh Salsa on top with a Dolop of Sour Cream. Yummy! So Good! It's my new recipe for Taco Tuesday from now on. Thanks for Sharing!
Miss Sheila, don't cry over an onion. LOL I've been cutting onions for over 50 years and I have never met an onion that reduced me to tears. Here's how I do it. Cut both ends of the onion off. Then take your knife and cut into the peeling from top to bottom of onion. You will want to go deep enough to get that transparent thin skin and now remove the onion peels. It works every time to perfection. NO TEARS! You don't have to remove the transparent skin if you don't want too, but I think when they leave it on, it takes away from the dish. IMO of course. Love that dish you girls cooked.up. ☺

the thing about packet seasoning is while they are a time saver, they aren't a money saver. quiet often they aren't as good as the mixture of herbs and spices which can be bought at little expense which in the long run are better than what you can get in a packet plus the small outlay in herbs and spices far out way the money spent on a packet. 1 packet = 1 meal.....buying the herbs and spices will last you several meals. Simple can be done repeatedly for less than it costs to do it conveniently, loved it though :)

I don't like to substitute, but I did only had about 3/4 pounds of ground beef so I added a can of drained black beans. The store has been out of Rotel tomatoes the last 3 times I've been including today... so I added a red jalapeño and green pepper from the garden.
