Damn I never heat up my water. I simply just a Matcha powder with room, temperature water into my vita mix blender and it mixes well. But my question is, does the hot water improve the flavor? Does it matter?
Of course it matters tf, temperature always matters with tea and coffee. Heat opens up the flavors and cooks the tea. Recommended temperature is usually on label of product.
Heat your water to about 175 F or 80 C. Make sure you don’t use boiling water because it can give you a bitter taste. ❤
@@vadesnow3675actually this is not correct, the instructions on most ceremonial grade matchas call for using cool, room temperature, or warm (not hot) water when mixing with a whisk or frother because is will make it taste bitter. Kills the matcha basically. So to the original poster, yes using cool water is just fine for smoothies or lattes. But for traditional ceremonial preparation you still use cool water to mix first, then use hot water (around 165F) to fill the cup to taste.

if you want a match latte from Starbucks this is how you order it
iced match latte with 3 pumps of brown sugar and vanilla sweet cream cold foam

It already has a lot of sugar added to the matcha powder itself, and the reason so much sugar is needed is because it’s not that high quality BUT I believe it’s delicious because before I was vegan I enjoyed their cold foams so much! And as always, the best way to enjoy matcha is the way you enjoy it most!
I think Starbucks macha is far too sweet but using almond milk can help lessen the sugar content.

You defs need to add some sort of sweetener like maple syrup, honey. Starbucks adds like 20 teaspoons of sugar or something hence why it's so delicious haha.
Definitely add cinnamon its very nice or you can add a vanilla taste to it usingn vanilla bean like she did ot even vanilla essence maybe even date syrup or honey

Ceremonial, it's the purest and most strong in flavor. Particularly if you make iced lattes a lot. If you make hot drinks more often, there's not as much of a difference

@@sundaystorms5171 it tastes bitter, everyone who says it taste good DROWNS it in creamer and milk and sugar. Real Japanese drink it straight. That’s the way any of these people can drink it. Even ceremonial grade is a bit bitter. Its basically just string green tea essentially. Give it a few years and this whole fad will calm down and another popular drink will come along

If you’re using a quality matcha and actually enjoy matcha, it’s got quite a complex flavour profile! Traditionally it’s enjoyed as is, nothing added. It’s also not different than drinking an iced latte with coffee, all my friends drink it unsweetened
