You mentioned the fast degradation of matcha. But does that also apply to matcha that has not been opened yet? Or does that also degrade, but more slowly? So drink opened match

Hi. Thank you for this video! I was wondering. Does the milk (honey, sirup, sugar) kill all the good stuff in the matcha tea or do you get the same benefits as drinking it only with water?

I believe the best Matcha tea, is labelled and classed as Ceremonial Matcha … other grades of Matcha, which maybe the bitter tasting Matcha’s, are typically used for cakes/baking …. Ceremonial is the best tasting and with a more vibrant green colour!
But nevertheless an interesting and engaging video …. Incidentally, I love a bowl of Matcha first thing each morning 😋
    Much thanks, Steve, Bristol, U.K 👍🏼😊 🙏

Am looking for a healthy tea to drink. Came across benefits of Matcha. Question don’t care to add to oat milk, do you then just drink it. Much smaller quantity than a cup of tea right?

    • @Argo123_.0

Yeah, classic is still best. Just prepare it the original way. Warm a bowl and bamboo whisk, then add the match (4 grams), add a splash of water to make a paste by whisking, then add 60 ml, then whisk till frothy. It’s like an espresso or a shot

"Matcha must be from Japan." False.
    Matcha originated in China.
It is produced across Asia and is absolutely not exclusive to Japan. You can obtain Matcha from various countries across Asia, it is simply most abundant in Japan. Just because certain countries like Brazil or Colombia produce most of the coffee consumed in the west, does not mean other countries cannot produce coffee (Vietnam and India for example also produce coffee.) While a majority do consider Japan to be superior to other countries at cultivating Matcha, that doesn't mean other places don't produce it, in fact the video maker is an American Matcha company.

    • @Ooika
      @Ooika  Před 3 měsíci +3

This is a great comment, mostly correct! In fact, we've done videos in collaboration with Shunan Teng of Tea drunk on the topic.
What you're missing a bit is that Matcha itself is not from China -- Mo Cha is. Mo Cha came to Japan about 1,000 years ago, where modern (and VERY distinct) Matcha was developed over the 1,000 years tea was in Japan.
So, it's not correct to say Matcha is from China, any more than it's right to say American Baseball is from England. It's not! Roots (critcket), inspiration, and history - but the product (Baseball/ Matcha) is distinctly American/Japanese in origin.
As a second note, there are lots of imitation products (ground green tea) on the market from all over the world, as you mentioned! But Matcha 抹茶 is from Japan alone - the same was Pu Er must be from Yunnan, even if you make a Pu Er style tea in India, or Japan. :)
Great comment though, lots of excellent conversation topics!

    Try hard matcha drinker.
99% of us arent matcha nerds. We just want good matcha cheap and easy. So the last simple instructions was the best.
But thanks for the nerdy matcha talk. Ill never pay $40 for 2oz of some high end bright green ceremonial matcha. This isnt a ceremonial occasion. Just wanna drink some earthy matcha and go about my day.
And why not just use a scooper? Smh
