How To Disable Hibernation and Remove hiberfil.sys in Windows 7

If the command "powercfg.exe -h off" is giving you an error, try "powercfg.exe /h off"

I had hibernation off but didnt do the cmd thing. hiberfile.sys took 5.9gig still. now it takes ZERO after cmd thing. thanks :)

This video is incorrect. This does not delete the hiberfil.sys file it only disables it. When you enable it again it is the same size. If you want to "Delete" the hibernation file you need to manually delete it.
